Dragging Maybel’s father through the gates of Northwoods was the easy part. The real challenge was holding back my urge not to snap his neck right then and there.

He kept struggling and cursing as we dragged him along. My wolf was raging inside, pushing me to finish him off, but the respect I have for Maybel wouldn’t let me.

Alvin was stumbling along beside us, breathless from the earlier blow he’d taken. Castillo and Laziel walked side by side with me, their grips tight and their expressions icy.

As soon as we crossed into the courtyard, heads turned. Whispers started to ripple through the wolves. Older wolves mumbled that they recognized Maybel’s father from BlueCrest, while the younger ones were eager to see their Luna's father.

“Laziel, take Alvin to the infirmary,” I barked, my voice cutting through the air, amidst the whispers. “Get the best healers to attend to him, I want him alive and talking.”

Without hesitation, Laziel grabbed Alvin and walked towards the infirmary down

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   The Moment her Eyes opened

For three days, I barely left Maybel’s side. The wolf pearl’s magic was slow and almost felt unreliable, almost like it was making me suffer before finally working on her body and letting her wake up. I sat there, every minute of the day holding her hands, counting her shallow breaths as if they were the only thing keeping my world from falling apart. Then, on the morning of the third day, I noticed her fingers twitch.I shot my head up with urgency and called out softly “Maybel”Her lashes fluttered weakly, like they were too heavy for her to lift. Slowly, those familiar eyes— dull from exhaustion but still hers— met mine. My heart tightened. She looked pale and fragile, but the weakest smile curled on her lips.“Aether” Her voice was barely a whisper, sending shivers down my throat. I haven’t heard that voice in 7 days.I leaned in closer, brushing the damp hair from her forehead. “I’m right here, love. You’re safe. You’re with me. I’ve missed you terribly, I almost thought I had l

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Shattered Magic

The morning came way too fast. I hadn’t slept a bit, not with Maybel lying there so still… her heartbeat was so faint that I had to press my ear to her chest just to convince myself it was still beating. That she was still alive. I had promised her and promised myself that I would bring her back. There was no way I was going to break that promise. When I stepped outside, as early as sunrise Andrew was already waiting for me, arms crossed, jaw tight. I wondered when he arrived but I didn't bother to ask, my mind was too occupied for that. I noticed he cared about Maybel’s warfare as much as I did. Without saying a word, we mounted up as we planned last night, and made our way to the old cabin where Maybel’s father had kept his secrets. The place was falling apart, but it had this stench about it, the kind that only betrayal leaves behind. It was filled with black magic and evil spells. Just looking at it made my skin crawl and my hands curl into fists.“Should we burn it or tear it a

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   The Rogue Secrets

Even though I stayed calm while trying to convince Maybel’s dad, my patience was running out. Seer Aria had told me repeatedly, to think things through and not always resort to violence. But at this moment, I don't mind if we have to fight or even kill for him to oblige. Hesitantly he agreed and sluggishly he tagged along behind us. Myself, Laziel, and Castillo. Even though I never liked Castillo I was somewhat impressed that he left all he had to do, to come look for a solution to May’s predicament. The night air was biting cold, sharp enough to cut through my skin, but my chest felt like it was on fire. Every step I took as we marched down to Northwoods reminds me of her lifeless body, and each time the pain I feel increases. Laziel walked silently beside me, his jaw clenched, eyes scanning the shadows as if he was waiting to dive on Maybel’s father if he tried to run or act fishy. Castillo hung back a bit, quiet but simmering with anger, his presence as intense as a knife at my b

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Three against one, you won’t survive.

The moon hung low over the top of the trees, casting a silver glow across the forest. My boots crunched through the damp leaves with every step I made. Bold and purposeful. Next to me, was Laziel as he scanned through the shadows, his nose twitching as he perceived old, stale, or useless scents. Laziel has this raw talent of finding someone or something with his sense of smell. It was he, who led us to the Ridge when Maybel was kidnapped. “We’ve been at this for hours,” he said, though he didn’t sound like he was complaining I could sense he was growing tired. “If May’s dad doesn’t want to be found, he’s making damn sure we don’t.”I clenched my jaw so tight it hurt. “I don’t care how far he’s gone. If Maybel dies because of him, he’ll wish he had stayed dead.”The search continued, leading us deep into the woods, past crumbling ruins where the air smelled like rot, and across the edges of forbidden lands where the trees grew twisted like claws. Each empty spot we got to only fuel

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   All to no Avail

AETHER'S POVI had never experienced pain like this before. Not even when I had been torn apart in battle. Not when my wolf had suffered and bled for days. Not when my parents were killed, and I and my brother Laziel, were sent out of the pack apart. Not when Nyra broke our bond 3 years ago and wanted to kill me.Nothing compared to the sheer agony of holding Maybel's lifeless body in my arms, her blood spilling into my shirt.Inside me, my wolf howled, a deep, primal sound that echoed in my skull and ears until I thought I might lose my mind. It wasn't just sorrow; it was the gut-wrenching realization that the other half of my soul was slipping away."Maybel, please..." My voice broke as I pressed my forehead to hers, trying to channel my warmth into her. "Don't leave me, baby. You can't leave me, please not now, my love." I sobbed. Her lashes lay still, and her lips were pale. I had faced thousands of enemies and fought lots of battles and come out victorious, but against this... I
