“Brandon?”
“How could you—?” my heart tightened as I struggled to get the words out of my throat.
Is this real or am I dreaming?
However, The reality of the scene hit me like a slap across my cheeks. “What the hell is going on here Brandon?! How could you do this to me on our night!
Immediately I thundered, Brandon jerked up from the lady, giving a clearer space for me to see the bag of shit he was cheating on me with.
“Oh my goodness!” My shoulder dropped the moment my eyes met with the smiling face of the lady. “Sabrina?”
“Oh, no!” I clasped my hair, squeezing it with a tightened fist.
How could they do this to me? Even if men choose to be who they are—making Brandon cheat on me. Still, it shouldn’t be with who’s on the bed. Sabrina, my closest friend, a friend I __ a sister. Oh no!
“Elena?” Brandon strides up from the bed. His voice filled with surprise, his eyeball almost popping out of its socket.
I dropped my eyes at my feet, irritated to look at the nakedness of the bastard I called mate.
“What are you doing here?” He asked, his gaze piercing holes on my face.
“Wow,” I scoffed, running my hands into my silky brown hair. “That’s all you could say?” I flickered my eyes, fighting back the tears that threatened to drizzle down my eyes but I couldn’t help it. It came gushing down on my cheeks.
“Answer me! Elena. How did you know I’m here?” He grasps my wrist, his voice barking into my earhole. “Are you tailing me?” He gritted, tightening his grip on my wrist.
“Let go of me you cheat!” I spat, jerking my hand away from his grip.
How dare he touch me! After I caught him thrusting his cocky dick into that shameless girl I trusted like a sister, right before my eyes.
He really got no shame!
He raised his reddened forest green eyes at me, taking in his lower lip before tightening his teeth on it. He’s angry and I could sense it. But does he even have the right to be angry?
“How dare you call your mate “a cheat” Elena? Do you remember I’m still the future Alpha King” he muttered before tilting his head down to sniff my neck. “By the way, you look exceptionally beautiful tonight, mate” he added, unremorseful of his action.
So disgusting!
My face dropped in disappointment. Was this the same Brandon I knew and loved? That same love of mine I’ve always blushed over crazily because of his uprightness—or was it all a facade? But, he was never the rotten type as he is right now. I raised my eyes, our gaze at the same level piercing through each other; however, I couldn’t keep the gaze for long as his fiery eyes burned my face hotly– Was this because he is my mate?
“You disgust me” I spat, sending a hot slap across his cheek. “I regretted putting on a darn pretty cloth for a rotten bastard like you!” I gritted and turned to head out, but suddenly, his hands grabbed my shoulder, holding me down from taking a step further.
“You dare slap me? Mate or not, have you forgotten you’re just a lowly bastard from the weakest pack. You should be grateful I offered the recognition of you being my mate” he scowled, holding his cheek where he was slapped.
How could Brandon—?
Well, he's right after all.. though I wasn't expecting this attack from him.
“Ohh, thanks for reminding me that I'm just a little unwanted bastard” I turned back and yanked his grip off my shoulder. Well, I should hate myself for having a crush on a crock like him without knowing what his true face was like.
“Then, you should do me the favor by cutting the damn mate bond. I’d rather remain mateless than have a cheat like you claim me”
I glanced at Brandon's eyes and saw the outburst of shock lingering over his chiseled face– the handsome face that every she-wolves blushes for, and neither was I an exception. Nonetheless, I don't give a damn at this stage. He has betrayed my trust; hence, he has no right to be my mate.
“Why aren’t you cutting the mate bond, Brandon? Do it right away if you aren’t scared!” I said like I was being possessed by some sort of intoxication. Or is it that he just started to disgust me after witnessing his shameful deed?
He laughed, moving his hands to caress my six-inch brown hair, “Even your Alpha can't make me scared Elena, talkless of you,” He said, his voice sent chills down my spine. But no, I choose not to waver. I’m ending this damn mate whatever with him!
“Then, get on with it if you aren’t” I slapped his hands off my hair and tilted my hair backward. “I, Elena Lockwell of New Moon pack reject you, Brandon Thorne, as my mate”
Brandon's face widened with his forest green eyes blinking rapidly before my face.
“You think you can find a mate that’s better than me? I, Brandon Thorne? You’re going to regret this,” he said in an oddly hurt tone.
“Do me the favor and let me think about the regret later. Cut the bond now!” I yelled, my eyes lightened up with rage.
“Elena, I'm—” His voice chipped softly but I cut him off with a dark gaze.
He raised his brow, followed by a nod, before proceeding, “Quite bold for a wolfless girl!” his voice firmed as he spoke. “I Brandon Thorne the future Alpha of Blood Moon reject you Elena Lockwell as my mate”
“I accept” I retorted almost immediately.
The bond snapped, and the pain blinded me instantly, setting my feet wobbling while Brandon furrowed his face and held his chest from the pain. However, the pain didn't last for a second before we both regained our strength. And without sparing a glance, I rushed out of the room.
By the time I got outside to the hallway, I was already starting to feel dizzy, and the shadow of darkness was about to engulf my eyesight like I was being struck with an intoxication.
“What the hell is wrong with me?” I said, shaking my head to get the blurriness out of my eyes.
I kept my face up with a forced smile as I walked past some she-wolves from Moon College gossiping beside the wall. I must appear in my best shape, no one must know I’ve been rejected by Brandon, even though I know it’s a matter of little time before it’d spread across the school and over to my pack and its wolves who are already appraising me as the future Luna to a strong pack like Blood Moon. Still, I won’t want to look like a drenched dog to their faces.
“Snap out of it, Elena!”
I blinked my eyes rapidly as the blurriness came once again, leaving me helpless than to grab the wall for support. My throat was already starting to get itchy so bad that I scraped my neck with much enthusiasm, hoping I’d be relieved, but instead, it only worsened.
Or perhaps, is this what the pack elders call ‘Heat’? Is it always this intense?
Chills crept over my body as the so-called heat hit my tummy, sending my body vulnerable. Growling in pain, I could feel my clit invoking hot flames beneath my legs. Just at the moment, I realize I need just one thing right away, just one thing–I need a man to mate with right now. But how do I find one in this state?
I was about blacking out on the cold floor engulfed with the thickness of the colorful lights flickering across the hall. Just then, a gigantic arm of warmth caught me, making my eyes widen. I tilted my gaze up to look at the man's face. And indeed, his presence alone sparkles fear into my spine. He was tall, towering over my petite body. Glancing over the man's lofty, I could tell his presence invokes authority—Perhaps he's an Alpha or a Beta from the neighboring packs?
“In heat?” He smirked before helping me up on my feet. While at it, I was able to catch a better glimpse of the man.
He was so handsome with his overwhelming height. His dark hair, stashed with a few white hairs, was styled in shape, and his sharp green eyes bore into mine.
No doubt, he's way older than me, a lot older. The confidence in his tone, laced with his muscled arm and broad shoulders down to his handsome chiseled face that looked like that of a young man, was something familiar, but I couldn't place where it was coming from.
“And you?” I asked casually.
He smiled briskly. “Looking for my son” he simply replied, his hands still on my waist. “Where is your mate? Looks like his wolf got its girl,” he said, and a wide smirk spread across his lips.
I laughed. The earlier image of Brandon and Sabrina envisioned me, making me saddened all of a sudden.
“I have none. I was rejected, or perhaps I rejected him,” I snickered. Not that I was happy, but my heart was clouded with sadness; only a ridiculous laugh like this could help me swarm out of the pain.
The man arches his brow, looking at me speechless, but I’m less bothered with whatever he thinks. All I need right now is to get someone to mate with me. To get me out of this damn excruciating heat.
But, come to think of it, here is a perfectly shaped man standing right in front of me. Maybe, he’s a gift from the moon goddess to help suppress her child pain—However, he's….? Don't mind Elena, it's just going to be a quick-lay, the thought flashed into my head.
Who cares if he’s a bit older? That’d even be the best part of it– imagining how energetic his pounds would be, I smiled, leaning forward to the man who looked surprised at my moves. However, I stopped when my face was barely an inch away from him.
“Please, mate with me”
Logan“However, now is not the time for excitement, Thane,” I cautioned, my jaw clenching so hard that the pain from Elena’s tight grip on my hair was soon withered away, replaced by the urge to get anything done to bring her back to consciousness. ‘I know. I can’t just help it – it’s the pull,’ Thane screamed.I groaned angrily at the mention of the pull. Just how long has Thane been feeling this and keeping it away from me? Or have I also felt it but just ignored it? But, right now, isn’t the right time to get the knotted strings untied — It’s the time to pull my little Elena together. I’d hate to. But I have no other choice but to, since that seems like the only option right now. I cleared my throat, beckoning to Thane. ‘Got a string on what’s happening to her? Or perhaps you could pull some tricks on her wolf to see if she responds. You said she has one.’I rushed my words, my gaze fixated on Elena’s cold body. Just then, I smacked my head inwardly. She’s cold! How foolish I h
Logan“Hey girl, wake up!” I yelled, a bit startled at the sudden scene evolving before my face. It was so sudden. So quick that I felt a knot I’ve never felt before drizzled down in my belly. Not to mention my Wolf, Thane’s fright.I bet it took a lot of control to keep himself from shifting out. I guess he knows he’d only discomfort the convulsing little girl more. Well, he knows above his anger, fright, and anxiety, he needed me. He needs my arm, my voice, my body, and warmth to at least keep her girl—— our girl in check. I kept calling out, ignoring the stinging pain from the scalp of my head as she continued to tighten her grasp on my hair. Even Full Moon shifting isn’t this painful. I cried inwardly. However, I was scornfully cut short on my whimpers by Thane. ‘Shut up, Logan, and look after the girl instead of crying out your throat ‘cause of some already bald hair!’ he spat. What? My eyes widened in shock at Thane’s outburst. Did he just call me bald? My eyes twitched, a
Elena“You’d never be loved, you wolfless bitch!” Brandon spat at my face. Followed by his friend, Chris, whose sneer grew deeper as he smacked his lower lip, while glancing down at what seemed like my nakedness. “Such a waste of sexy cleavages!” Same goes with Sabrina, the only girl I had thought was a friend. Not knowing, she hides nothing but vileness against me - deep inside her heart. “Wolfless Bitch! Your position as Brandon’s mate would be fucking mine by all means,” she grinned, seductively showing off the wreck she had thought to be a better body than mine. “With you dead or alive!” She added with a devilish grin. I shivered in fear when the displeasing images were soon accompanied by the uproar of several voices of sneer, disgust, and displeased screams. Mixed and evolved through my ears like a thunder roar. The displeased voices grew deeper and deeper, agonizing as my vision continued to grow blurry.I wanted to scream out loud at them all, for them to stop and get out
Elena“The breeze is cool, Elena. I bet you would love it!” Edgar voiced out immediately after he stepped out of the old room.Definitely, outside was much different. So much filled with the liveness of the clean air than the musk of old books and aged furniture permeated across the large live-in office.Briskly, Edgar inhaled. His husky breathing dominated the air for a while before it disappeared into thin air. For a second, I also wanted to. I also wanted to inhale the moistness in the air, filled with the fragrance of wood, hills, and metallic scents - exactly typical of a prison! But too bad, I could only feel myself shivering in Edgar’s arms. I guess I was still gripped with fear. So much gripped that I had little knowledge how firmly I had been gripping Edgar’s shirt - almost clutching it against his neck. Just then, I heard Edgar’s voice break through my uneasiness. “Easy, girl. Don’t want my neck snapped with those pretty hands,” he cautioned with a smile at the end of his
Elena “How can you hate fresh air when you’re sweating this much, Elena!” Edgar yelled, his brow furrowed in anger, obviously directed at my adamance. And probably to the scent oozing out of my damp armpits as well.“Oh yeah, I am,” I squirmed nervously, a pale smile at the end of my lips.Truly, I am sweating.…So much that I fear the stench of my bloody fragrance mixed with the forest medicinal herbs - used on my wounds, spreading across the room. I bet it’d stink. I shrank in fear, my eyeballs rolling up to steal a quick glance at Edgar’s disdained expression, glaring down at the small figure before him. I jerked back when his scrupulous green eyes met mine. Has the stench already filled his nostrils? Well, I shouldn’t have expected less. He’s also a werewolf after all. A WarLord at that!Oh no! This is the worst of the scenarios that I’d imagined would tear Edgar and me apart. I pouted sadly, staring down at my feet while I fondled my sweaty fingers with the sad thought of b
ElenaDeja Vu. ...Is it?I think that’s the word people call it? When you have a feeling that you’ve already experienced something that’s happening right at the moment. When you have a faint conviction that you’ve once felt that burning sensation tickling each sensor in your body before… Somewhere. With someone. At a particular moment.Well, I’ve come across the strange word quite a number of times in numerous books and scrolls since I have a bit of interest in reading. Even though it’s always a privilege for someone like me, who’s considered nothing less than a mutt of the Pack, to have those precious books to my face. And yes, I think that’s what is happening to me right now. Right at the moment. Deja Vu. However, I couldn’t shake away the feeling of surprise that lingered on my face. Most especially, Edgar’s scrupulous face that stood tall as his green eyes bore into mine despite my accusation. Which I had thought would make him pissed. However, an amused face?Or did he inte
