Don’t be scared, you can do it!Don’t be scared, you can do it!This is the matrix I repeated to myself to keep myself from running out of the hall. I had been selected as one of the maids that would be serving during this year's ball, normally I would be in the kitchen serving but this year was different. I was serving the Alphas and Luna at this ball.As an omega I was extremely frightened, the aura of an alpha is really powerful. Their wolf can’t be compared to the wolf of omega which made my wolf submit to every alpha, especially the alpha of my pack.I continued serving and taking orders from the Luna’s and alpha’s trying so hard not to spill or break anything cause I don't want to get in trouble with my alpha. The last ball that happened I heard of a girl last year that was slapped by an alpha because she spilled wine on his garment. I've also heard other stories of other omegas who made little mistakes and were punished. After serving the alphas and lunas who ordered, I stood behind the bar cleaning the bar tables and setting cups just in case of any more orders. As I cleaned the table I tried to keep my wolf at bay. She has been awfully sad for the past week and I don't blame her for the past two weeks we’ve not gone out for a run because of the preparation of the ball. This is the 15th ball ceremony I was attending. I joined the Lunar moon park but this time around it is quite different. In all the balls the alpha king never attended, people said things about him being out of town and not liking ceremonies like this but surprisingly this time he decided to attend. The ball was held as a yearly celebration for all the alpha and luna to celebrate; it has been in existence since the Werewolves were at peace with the rogues. Even if I believe the rogues still exist, I heard from other pack members that there was now an alliance between the werewolves and the rogues. The rogues are also werewolves like us but are either banished from their pack for some reason or people who lost their mate and couldn’t bear the pain so they left their pack to be alone. From stories I heard the trouble started when the rogues would show up in the territory of other pack members and then would be killed when the group rogues saw that they started killing other pack members and attacking different packs until they had a meeting to settle it all. My parents were also killed by a rogue. I never knew my parents. My alpha only once told me he saw me on his way back from a meeting with another pack and I was laying on the floor when he picked me up as a child. I had more questions to ask but was scared to ask him and I doubt he would have answers to my questions. I wish to find out about my parents and the way to do that was to get a mate. Being in the Lunar Moon pack for 21 years I was certain my mates weren’t part of the pack and I pray to the moon goddess he comes my way very soon and hope I don't get rejected by him because of my status. I continued setting cups and the wines on the table to act busy so I won't be sent out to deliver or to receive orders but then I guess my plan didn't work out as the head of the omega called me out to bring in more wines from the back.I bowed my head as I passed through the crowd, as an omega I was tiny so walking in a room filled with alpha felt like I was walking in a room filled up with giants.I took a deep breath as I left the hall, taking in the new fresh air and enjoying the little bit of calmness for a little while before I had to go back to the hall. Letting the cold breeze hit my skin and the smell of the woods calm my wolf down I rested my head on the wall while looking at the moon. This was just the perfect weather to let my wolf out for a run but it wasn't the right time. It was a full moon which means after the ball all the alpha would let their wolf out for a run together. It was a joyous and scary moment, hearing the howls of your alpha brought joy but seeing all the alphas together was the scary part, even if they didn't mean to scare us they still did.I stood up ready to leave and pick up the wines so I wouldn't get in trouble with the head. I turned round the building heading towards the storehouse but stopped right at the front as I heard a voice beside the building.Distracted by the smell, I followed the scent that filled the air, leading me to the most handsome man in the world. He had black hair that stopped mid-length. I looked at his crystal blue eyes and suddenly felt like the world stopped spinning, it felt as if we were the only two people on earth."Mate," I said as my wolf growled with full possession.I couldn't believe I'd found my mate. But taking one good look at him I noticed something else: he's an alpha." You're an Omega," he said as he squeezed with disgust.I bowed my head while muttering yes. Waiting for the next thing to come a drop of tears dropped from my eyes." I don't have time for all this, I'm the alpha king and I can't afford to have an Omega as the queen. I, Marcus Danielson, Alpha king, reject you as my mate. " Never had I experienced such pain before but with little courage I looked up into his eyes still finding it hard to believe I'd been rejected. He pushed me and started walking but stopped midway."Don't utter any word to anybody about being my mate" He said before he continued walking leaving me in pain.Standing up I ignored the pain in my leg. I walked deep into the woods with tears flowing from my eyes. I let my wolf full control with four paws touching the ground. I dash into the forest, howling like never before.Emily’s POVI wandered through the emptiness. It was as though I had been transported to some forsaken place. My steps were aimless, yet I felt compelled to keep moving, driven by some invisible force I couldn’t name.Eventually, I stumbled upon a river. I leaned closer to the water. And then I saw it, my own reflection. Or at least, what I thought was mine. A wolf stared back at me, Violet eyes glowing softly beneath the pale light. Its fur was black as midnight, streaked with shadows, sleek and wild. My heart lurched. But just as quickly as it appeared, the reflection dissolved. The wolf vanished, and in its place, only emptiness stared back at me. My reflection was gone. I was left staring into the river, alone.I backed away, my breath shallow, panic fluttering in my chest. Then I saw her again. The figure.Violet eyes. She turned slowly, as though inviting me to follow, and without thinking, I did. Each step was hesitant, but something inside me, an instinct I could not name, d
Marcus’s POVThe morning air in the fortress felt heavier than usual. I was pacing in my private chambers, Alex close behind, his presence steady as ever. My mind was restless, my thoughts so disorganized, all circling around one unshakable concern: Emily.“Marcus,” Alex said, breaking my spiraling thoughts. “The council meeting will start soon. We should get going.”I stopped pacing and ran a hand over my face, rubbing the tension from my eyes. “I know, Alex,” I said, though my voice was tight, nearly strangled by the worry I carried. “I just… I don’t understand. Beth has been avoiding me ever since I asked her about Emily’s whereabouts. Does she know something? Do you think she's hiding something?”Alex’s brow furrowed. “You don’t think she’d…”“I don’t want to believe it,” I cut him off sharply. My chest tightened, and I took a deep breath. “I trust Beth. I’ve trusted her for years. But the way she’s been acting… it doesn’t sit right with me.”He didn’t respond, just gave a small,
Marcus’s POVThe dungeon reeked of old blood and damp stone, the stench of wolfbane clinging to every corner. Chains rattled faintly in the distance, a reminder of the countless souls who had been broken here. I stood in the shadows, arms crossed, my patience wearing thinner by the second. My jaw clenched as I paced, each step echoing in the silence.Where was Alex?Every moment wasted gnawed at me. My thoughts kept circling back to Emily and her face, her voice, the way I had sent her away safely only to be taken from me. The rage inside me was a living, breathing thing, demanding an outlet. Tonight, that outlet would be the guard. Finally, footsteps approached. Alex appeared at the doorway. And with him, dragged by the collar like a mutt, was the guard. The man’s face was pale, his eyes wide with fear, though he tried to mask it with forced defiance. But I could smell his fear. It rolled off him in waves.“There you go,” Alex grunted, shoving the guard forward. “Caught him trying
Renon’s POVMy mind refused to rest. Even in the quiet of my bedchamber, tension coiled through my veins. I stood near the window, my gaze locked on the moon, its pale glow cutting across the stone floor. My Beta stood a few steps behind me, waiting for my command, his arms crossed tightly against his broad chest.“We double the guards at the girl’s chamber,” I said, my tone leaving no room for debate. “No one comes near her without my permission. No one.”He inclined his head in agreement. “Understood, Alpha. She’s already restrained, weakened. Do you still fear she might escape?”A growl rumbled in my throat, quiet but sharp enough to make him tense. “Fear? I do not fear her. But she is unpredictable. And unpredictability is dangerous. Emily has something about her, something even I can’t fully see. I won’t risk losing control of her again.”Before my Beta could respond, the door creaked open. I turned sharply, my irritation spiking. It was Lilith. She stepped inside with the kind
Emily’s POVThe chamber was completely silent. Every council member stared at Lilith as if she had just spoken the most blasphemous words imaginable. I couldn’t breathe. My lips parted, but no sound came out. Lilith’s voice was extremely calm, defiant still echoed in my ears. I can't believe how she managed to stay calm in a situation like this.“ I helped her escape,” she said it again. The entire room froze. Disbelief crossed the faces of the gathered elders, their sharp eyes darting from her to me, then back again.I wanted to scream why, why would she take the blame, why would she put herself in danger for me? But fear clamped down on my throat. I couldn’t even look directly at Renon. I was terrified of what he would do to her.Renon rose from his seat slowly, the sound of his chair scraping against the stone floor. His tall frame loomed over everyone, fury. I felt myself shrinking into my chains. I thought this was the end for Lilith. Those merciless and glowing eyes narrowed at
Marcus’ POVThe moment I stepped back into the pack house, I felt the weight of everything I had left behind pressing down on me again. I climbed the staircase slowly, dragging my thoughts with me, each step reminding me that I had unfinished business. My hand pushed open the door to my room, and I froze. The space was not how I had left it. Candles flickered from every corner, casting shadows that danced across the walls, and rose petals were scattered across the floor and bed as if someone had staged a scene from a romance story. My brows furrowed, but the sound of a soft giggle drew my attention to the bed.Beth.She lay sprawled across the sheets, her body draped in nothing but a thin silk fabric that barely covered her curves. Her lips curled into a teasing smile as she stretched her hand toward me.“Finally, you’re back,” she purred, her voice dripping with seduction. “I’ve been waiting for you.”I clenched my jaw, conflicted. My body reacted instinctively to the sight of her,
