Chapter 188

*Joan's POV*

I walked back to my room feeling very frustrated. The day went by and it was noon. I couldn't visit the dinning room because I still felt so remorseful. The maids had to bring the dinner to my room.

After eating, I laid on my bed staring at the ceilings. The thoughts of what had happened was running through my mind again. It was still too hard to accept that I lost my baby within such a short period of time.

I raised my head when I suddenly heard a knock on the door. I stared at the door wondering if I heard right. The knock came again and I was forced to stand up. I reached the door and opened it to see no one on the doorstep.

“What is going on. Am I hearing things now?” I asked myself. After taking a good look around once more, I shut the door and walked back to my bed.
