Rex’s POV

The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was Aries, and the worry swimming in his gaze was enough to make my chest ache. His eyes were pure concern, and for a moment I just stared back at him before forcing a faint smile to ease his fear.

“God, Rex… you need to stop scaring me like that,” he breathed out, his voice breaking a little as he pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. And then just as quickly he pulled away, already panicking.

“I’ll get the healers—”

Before he could bolt, I grabbed his hand and held it firmly.

My surroundings finally registered, the small hut. The same one I shared with Rose and Lilly. Somehow that only made the silence feel heavier.

“How long was I out?” I asked, noticing that no one else was around.

“Just a day,” he muttered, settling back into the chair beside me. His hand never left mine. Instead, his thumb traced soft, steady circles against my skin, grounding me in ways I didn’t want to admit.

“Zane?” I asked, my heart hammering in my chest as

  • Rejected mythical Luna   The joining

Rex POVAs we walked into the pack house after leaving the Field, my eyes softened at how well the ruins had been replaced, almost like that attack had never even happened. Were we gone that long? Long enough for them to rebuild all this so perfectly?Me and Aries climbed the stairs and made our way directly to our room, the comfort of home we really needed right now. Just that moment to breathe while in each other’s arms.Julian and everyone else slipped into their rooms as well. Zane was given a room by Alpha Charles who, just like Aries, was still being protective about him and Rose sharing a bed. Those Alpha tropes…After showering, we lay on the bed without a word. I rested gently on him, the steady sound of his heartbeat keeping me grounded. The silence felt like a break from everything that had happened this past week. Just being there screamed freedom to me.After a while, I spoke softly, my hand tracing circles on Aries’s arm.“Do you think they’ll accept the banished?”His b

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Peace Once Again

Rex’s POV The crowd around us had grown thicker, smiles lighting every face as whispers rippled low through the field. My eyes scanned the sea of people until I finally found the face I was looking for.Lucy pushed through the crowd with Alpha Charles at her side, her eyes watery and full of relief.Aries let out a low howl the moment his gaze locked on them. The sound tore from his chest, raw and filled with emotion. I joined him, our howls blending and echoing through the field until it vibrated in my bones.Warriors rushed forward, dropping bundles of clothes at our feet. Aries snatched his with his teeth before retreating into the trees. I followed, shifting back in seconds and tugging the clothes on. When I emerged, Aries was waiting, hand outstretched, eyes softened.“We’re home,” he said with a smile.I clasped his hand, nodding. “Your parents must’ve missed you all.”Julian and Robin came up, already dressed, and Julian smirked. “Pretty sure they missed me the most.” He shove

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Proud

Rex’s POV I stood firm, Aries at my side, as my eyes scanned the wall of warriors blocking our path. Braun had already retreated after my first outburst—now watching from behind his men, hiding like the coward he was. What kind of Alpha stirs up trouble only to cower when it’s time to face the consequences? Foolish of me to think I could reason with him in the first place. “I don’t want to hurt you,” I said sharply, my voice carrying weight that made them flinch. Still, none of them moved. Too scared to attack, yet too stubborn to let us pass. “Let’s shift,” I whispered to Aries. His frown deepened and I could tell he didn’t like where this was unfolding. “Are you sure?” he asked softly. I nodded. “We’ll get out easier in wolf form. And I don’t want to shed any more blood.” That softened him, and he gave me a small smile. “Alright.” He mind-linked Julian, who nodded and quietly passed the message on. By now, what seemed like every last warrior had gathered. There was no reason

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Hate

Rex’s POV The warriors surrounded us once again, spears raised, all because of a single order from their Alpha. They closed in quickly, and I could feel the anxiety rolling off everyone behind me, everyone except Aries, who still stood squarely at my side, his eyes never leaving Braun. I couldn’t think of a single reason Braun would want to imprison us. We had no ties here, no previous encounters. And since they were a halfie pack, they definitely had nothing to do with Ron. So what was it? “What reason do you have to imprison us?” Aries’ voice cut through the chaos, sharp and commanding. “I am an Alpha, demanding nothing but passage. And your answer is to throw us in the dungeons? That’s funny coming from you.” He even chuckled, low and amused. “I can do whatever I want, as long as you’re on my land,” Braun shot back, his frown deepening. “We don’t put too much weight on titles here, Alpha Aries,” he seethed. Aries took a step forward, unwavering, his gaze locked on Braun. “Ok

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Rold

Aries’ POVI heard their footsteps before I saw them. The warriors were already approaching, and I meant it when I told Rex to leave the negotiations to me. She had done more than enough cracking the barrier, getting everyone out. The least I could do now was make sure we got back to our pack without trouble.“Identify yourselves!” one of them barked, spears raised as they surrounded us.I felt Rex move closer at my side, the rest of our people tensing.I drew a steady breath, peeling my gaze away from her and toward the warriors. My stance was calm, but my eyes hardened. No weakness. No desperation. That was the message: we wanted peace, but we weren’t begging for it.“I’m Alpha Aries of the Awoke Pack,” I said firmly, stepping forward and holding out my empty hands. “We demand nothing but passage.”“With such a crowd?” the same warrior scoffed, his spear still trained on us.I gave him a cold look. “We ask for nothing more than to pass through your territory on our way back to our p

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Next Test

Rex’s POVI stared at the barrier longer than I should have, but nothing stirred in me, no matter how hard I tried. The harder I pushed, the more impossible it felt. Maybe I was reaching too high, thinking I could do this at all.Zane had been at it for nearly thirty minutes, and even with his strength, he’d only managed to make the smallest crack. I should’ve been beside him, helping, but I hadn’t been able to do a thing.“Take a break already,” Aries called out.Zane stopped, turning back to us. Sweat trickled down his chin, exhaustion plain on his face. He nodded and immediately made his way to Rose’s side with a weak smile, while I stayed rooted, staring at the shimmering space.I felt Aries step up beside me, silent at first, his gaze fixed forward like mine. You should give it another try, Ria’s voice pressed into my mind, steady and firm. You can do it, Rex. Then she faded out, leaving only the echo of her words.“What’s on your mind?” Aries finally asked, eyes still on the bar
