Chapter 2

As soon as we arrived at the school, I immediately scanned the area hoping to see Lily. I've tried to contact her many times but she didn't dare to pick up.

"Searching for someone?" Jordan asked beside me while wrapping his arms on my shoulders guiding me on our way.

I didn't bother to look at him and babble instead. "I'm looking for Lily. I can't feel at ease if I won't see her as soon as possible," then I pushed his arms away from me.

He patted my head and whispered, "Over there," while leading my face to her direction. I nodded at him and bid my goodbye before running to Lily's direction.

I waved my hand over Lily to catch her attention. When her eyes met mine, she smiled widely.

"What's going on?" I said with my stoic expression.

She intertwined our fingers and rested her head on my shoulders. We started walking along the hallway still waiting with her response.

"Are you going to answer me, Lily?" I asked, causing her to stop right away.

She turned her head to meet my gaze, "It was just a prank, Amber. I just wanted to start your day with a little excitement," she beamed and ran inside her classroom.

Can someone please stop me to strangle that woman?!

Behind that confession was a sigh of relief. I don't want to get into trouble this early. I shook my head in disbelief that I was tricked by Lily and headed my way to my room.

I was quitely walking not until I bumped into someone unfamiliar to me. I am the student body president and I knew different familiar faces but this one is stranger to me.

"Ouch!"

"Oh my! Queen bee, are you alright?"

"Please watch your steps."

That was the words I heard coming from their mouth. After hearing the word 'Queen bee', I must say that she was the person with whom the whole campus was talking about. A rich heiress of a wealthy family.

As a student body president, I don't want to get a bad record from my leadership so I apologise to them. I was taken aback when the so-called Queen bee swiftly embraced her arms to me.

My eyes widened in confusion but I hugged her back. I am having this strange feeling that I know her inside me but I can't remember her, not even her figure and her face.

She pulled herself away from me and a tear suddenly escaped in her eyes. "S-sis?" stuttering she said.

I creased my forehead in confusion which I know these two girls with her was also mirroring my actual expression.

"E-excuse me? You must be mistaken. I don't have any siblings," I answered and suddenly I felt a little pang in my chest. I pity her as I could see in her eyes that she was lonely and was longing for a sister's love and presence.

"No, I am certain that you are—" she stopped for a moment and wiped away her single tear. She heaved a deep sigh and instantly shook her head when she finally realised her mistake. "Yes, you're right. I am mistaken. Sorry for that," she continued with a bitter smile plastered on her face. That was a tad strange. She must have gotten into trauma and act like that to everyone she met.

After giving her words on me, they turned their heads back and left me dumbfounded. I am sure that that was our first meeting but she seemed to be a familiar stranger to me. Or... If not, I was just feeling the same way because I don't have any sister, too.

I didn't bother to chase after her and ask some questions when the bell rang, signifying the start of classes. I hurriedly entered my room and sat on my chair in front. I let out a loud sigh before placing my head on my hands. This day happened with many strange things to me but I am alright. I really am.

The room was filled with silence as our math teacher entered the class. She was with a man wearing shades inside this covered area and a shining stud on the right ear. His spiky brown hair also gets too much attention plus his black backpack hanged in his shoulder made him look like a typical bad boy. I don't see it as cool either, the arrival seemed like an addict to me.

"Good morning, please take your seats and your new classmate will introduce himself. He was a transfer student and just completed his requirements yesterday," our teacher informed us.

I looked over the class and the girls were smiling sweetly to him. Others were trying to seduce him through their cleavages and silently fantasising him. I returned my sight in front as he started to introduce himself.

"I am Blake Ethan Hernandez, good morning," he said while slowly removing his shades exposing his blue sparkling eyes.

"Find your seat, Mr. Hernandez," she instructed and scanned the whole class for any vacant seats.

Some girls squeezed themselves to have a vacant seat beside them. Too desperate for someone who's not good looking enough to impress the student body president.

He motioned his feet and positioned himself next to me. I threw him a questioning look but he didn't mind it. Instead, he sat comfortably on the chair he doesn't own.

"Excuse me, someone owns that chair," I scoffed, causing him to shift his sight on me.

"Really? I don't see one here," he answered. I rolled my eyes on him as my response.

This arrogant man really hit my nerves!

I tried to normalize my breathing before I talked calmly at him. Someone owned that chair and she was just absent so basically, he does not have the right to sit there.

"You can transfer your seat when the owner comes," I said but he just shrugged. Really ill-mannered.

"Ms. Ferrer, kindly answer the equation shown on the board." My eyes widened in surprise. Why all of a sudden? I didn't listen throughout her discussion because of this jerk beside me.

Before I could stand up, I saw him realising a smirk on me. Good thing I made an advance study and this lesson is just a piece of cake.

I gave the class a smile and solved the written equation mentally.

"One, ma'am," I answered.

She wrote my answer on the board and gave it a big check. Not to brag, I don't really have a hard time solving math problems because I have had my tutor since then and Marcus also taught me with my lessons.

"Very good, Ms. Ferrer," she greeted before I sat down. Actually, when I see complicated math problems, choices of either one, zero or negative one is always there. The simple answer to a complicated question.

I shifted my gaze to the blue-eyed monster beside me who looked shocked.

"You're a Ferrer?" he asked. With a confused look on me, I nodded. What's with my surname by the way?

"What's your name?" he asked again but I didn't dare to answer. He consumed much of my time for this day.

He poked my side so I shot him a deadly glare. This creature is really getting on my nerves. I won't be surprised if one day, he will be called in the guidance office.

"I'm Amber, the student body president and the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferrer, happy?" I blurted but I saw his disappointed blue eyes on me.

He looked away and shrugged before he rested his head on the table. Good for him to shut up.

As soon as the bell rings for lunch, I assisted myself to stand and walked away from the room. I grabbed my bag and slowly took my way in the doorway. A familiar figure was waiting for me outside leaning on the wall while tapping his phone.

"Jordan!" I greeted him. He lifted his view on me exposing his beautiful brown eyes then gave me a sweet smile and tucked his phone back in his pocket.

"How's your day?" he asked while we are walking down the hall.

"Not that good," I deadpanned and in a second, a monster in my stomach growled causing Jordan to laugh on me.

"Marcus must know this," he beamed. I groaned at him pleadingly but he just dragged me on our way to the cafeteria.
