Chapter 5

ผู้เขียน: Ivy
8:00 PM. The Alpha's Private Club.

The VIP room was dimly lit, thick with the smell of cigars and strong liquor.

The moment I pushed the door open, I saw Daisy sitting in the corner.

She was wearing a low-cut silk camisole that clung tightly to her curves, and with a deliberate little shift of her shoulders, she squeezed her full breasts—laughing coquettishly as she chatted up the wealthy Alpha beside her, every move oozing unapologetic allure.

When she saw Ethan walk in with me, her eyes flashed with resentment for a split second before she switched to her innocent, wide-eyed act.

"Hello, Luna. I'm the Alpha's new assistant. He said he was short-handed, so I came to help pour drinks."

I gave a faint nod and didn't say a word.

For two whole hours, Ethan put on the performance of a lifetime.

He cut my steak for me, blocked shots of strong Tequila on my behalf, and even when someone jokingly asked Daisy to sing, he kept his eyes straight ahead, acting as if he didn't know the female at all.

"Damn, Ethan, that self-control is legendary."

"With a high-blood Luna at home, how could any stray she-wolf catch his eye?"

Ethan soaked up his friends' flattery. He wrapped his arm around my waist, looking at me with deep emotion. "Exactly. In my eyes, no one compares to Ivy."

I felt suffocated. I made an excuse and went to the restroom.

I stood in front of the sink for a long time, splashing cold water on my face, trying to wash away the fake smile I had plastered on.

When I returned to the VIP room, my hand had just touched the doorknob when the raucous laughter inside allowed my heightened hearing to pick up every distinct word.

"Ethan, I couldn't ask while Luna was here, but what's the deal with the Omega assistant?"

"Yeah, the way that little chick looked at you... she wanted to eat you alive."

Ethan's scornful laugh drifted out, heavy with intoxication. "Just for fun. Meat delivered to your door—you'd be an idiot not to eat it."

"Aren't you afraid Luna will find out?"

"Her?" Ethan's tone was dismissive. "She's a blockhead. What does she know? She's like a dead fish in bed, absolutely boring. Nowhere near as wild as Daisy."

Immediately after, Daisy's sickly-sweet voice chimed in. "Ethan, you're so bad! You acted so serious in front of Luna earlier; I almost got jealous."

"Be a good girl. Come here and let me kiss you. Holding back earlier was killing me."

Then came the sound of fabric rustling and heavy, breathless moans.

The room erupted in cheers and catcalls.

"Moon Goddess above, Ethan is a legend! Getting handsy right in front of us?"

"Come on, come on, Truth or Dare! Ethan, tell us: do you prefer the holy goddess at home, or the little wild cat in your arms?"

Ethan's voice was muffled, sounding like his face was buried in the woman's chest. "A goddess is for worshiping on a pedestal. But in bed... I prefer a slut."

Boom.

The explosion of laughter from inside the room felt like a series of slaps across my face.

It turned out that in the eyes of his friends, I was just a "blockhead" used for decoration. A joke kept in the dark.

My hand slowly released the doorknob. I didn't barge in with righteous fury. I didn't shift and roar.

I turned around and walked to the balcony at the end of the corridor.

The biting night wind dried the moisture in the corners of my eyes.

Just then, the phone in my pocket vibrated.

It was an unknown number.

"Hello, is this Ms. Aurora?"

The voice on the other end was formal, male, and rigorously professional.

"Speaking."

"Ms. Aurora, I am the human lawyer handling your disassociation from pack affairs. All the cancellation procedures you entrusted to me have been completed."

"The pack real estate under your name, the luxury cars, and the family trust funds have all been liquidated and transferred to a confidential Swiss Bank account. Your identity information within the Werewolf Registry will be formally deleted in two weeks."

"Additionally, the ticket for the private jet to the Neutral Territories has been issued. The flight is scheduled for the early morning, exactly a week from now."

"Do you need to bring any other identification besides your Rogue passport?"

"No, the passport is enough."

As soon as I hung up, I heard footsteps behind me.

"Ivy, why have you been gone so long? What do you need a passport for?" Ethan walked over, reeking of alcohol, and hugged me from behind.

I calmly put my phone away, suppressing my nausea, and didn't push him away. "Nothing. My friend lost her passport; I was just asking how she could replace it."

After three months of torment and gaining nothing, Ethan completely collapsed. He locked himself in the Alpha Villa, refusing to see anyone or handle pack affairs. The air reeked of decadence.Because of the Alpha's disappearance and scandal, the prestige of the Ethan family plummeted. Subordinate packs began to break away one after another. Finally, the pillar of the family—the Grand Elder—couldn't sit still anymore.Bang! The villa's main door was blasted open by brute force.Leaning on a wolf-skull scepter, the Grand Elder walked in with a grim face, followed by the Family Enforcement Squad.Seeing his grandson living a life of drunken stupor, a disgrace to the family, the Elder's fur stood on end with rage."You bastard! For a female, you're going to destroy a thousand years of family glory?!"Ethan looked up with drunken, bleary eyes and giggled foolishly. "Glory? Without Ivy

After more than ten hours of exhausting travel, Ethan arrived at Mist Harbor in the Neutral Zone, covered in dust and weariness.Ignoring his need for rest, he clutched the photo and followed the clues all the way to a seaside inn."This is it! This is where the magical beacon last appeared!"Ethan stood in front of the blue wooden door, his wolf heart pounding violently against his ribs.He straightened his clothes, took a deep breath, and raised his hand to knock.Knock, knock, knock. No one answered."Ivy? It's me, Ethan. I know you're in there. Open the door, please. Can we just talk?"Still dead silence.Panic set in. Ethan started pounding on the door panel. "Ivy! Come out! I know I was wrong. You can hit me, curse at me, just please don't refuse to see me!"The massive commotion attracted the innkeeper.A plump Ursine shifter woman walked over and asked in broken Common Tongue, "Who are you looking for?""The she-wolf staying here! Her name is Aurora! Or Ivy!" Ethan gestured fra

Outside the clinic's operating room, the magical runes dimmed.Daisy was wheeled out, her face as pale as paper, looking as if her wolf soul had been sucked out.The surgery was a "success." The unformed pup, along with the sound of her shattered dreams of becoming Luna, had been flushed down the sewer. Before she could even wail, she was hauled up by two stone-faced guards and dragged into an armored van like a dead dog.The van sped out of the bustling central city, driving all the way to the desolate border wastelands a hundred kilometers away."Get out."The door opened, and the guards threw her out without a shred of pity."Ah!"Daisy landed hard in the muddy water. Her body, fresh from surgery, was in agonizing pain. She was still bleeding, her healing abilities completely failing her.ignoring her dignity, she crawled over and grabbed a guard's pant leg, begging. "Brothers, please, don't leave me here... Rogues and Vampires hunt here... I'll die... Let me go back to the territor

Thirty minutes later.A red modified off-road vehicle pulled up to the entrance of the Alpha Villa.Daisy, wearing custom leather boots and that provocative red silk ritual robe, strutted in like a proud peacock. She scanned the empty den with greedy, triumphant eyes. That old hag Ivy was finally gone. This territory was hers now."Ethan~"Seeing Ethan sitting on the fur sofa, Daisy instantly switched to her seductive persona. Just like always, she threw herself at him, intending to sit on his lap."I'm here... Did you miss me..."Slap!The crisp sound of a slap echoed through the spacious living room.Daisy was sent flying. She hit the floor hard, half her face swelling instantly. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, and her canine teeth were knocked loose.Clutching her face, she looked up at the man in disbelief. "Ethan... you hit me?"Ethan stood up, towering over her. His Alpha pressure crushed down like a mountain, his gaze as cold as if he were looking at an ant."How ma

"I'm not signing."Ethan pushed the thick severance agreement back. His wolf eyes were bloodshot, shining with a paranoid kind of madness."As long as I don't sign, the bond can't be broken. Jason, tell her I know I was wrong. I'll change. I'll send that she-wolf away. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to her..."Jason looked at the powerful Alpha crumbling before him. A flash of pity crossed his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by professional detachment."Alpha Ethan, Ms. Aurora anticipated you would react this way."Jason sighed. He didn't pull a second agreement from his briefcase. Instead, he pointed at Ethan's phone."She asked me to tell you that if you insist on not letting go, you might want to check your private encrypted email first.""It's the last thing she left for you before she departed."Ethan froze.Email? His hands trembling, he pulled out his phone and opened the private encrypted inbox he hadn't used in ages. The newest email was from "Ivy."There was no

The next morning.Nursing a pounding headache from liquor hangover and sporting a face full of bruises, Ethan sat in the reporting hall of the Pack Enforcement Division."I want to issue a Level One Search Warrant. My Luna is missing."The Enforcement Elder checked the database and frowned. "Ethan, according to the information you provided, your former mate left behind a signed Bond Severance Agreement and voluntarily deregistered her wolf mark. This is a premeditated, voluntary departure from the pack. She isn't a missing person. We cannot mobilize the tracking unit.""She is missing! If I can't find her, she's missing!"Ethan slammed his hand on the table, roaring. His claws gouged deep grooves into the metal surface. "I have the dollar! I’m not short on cash! As long as you help me start a territory-wide search and authorize access to the surveillance, I have plenty of resources to donate to the Council!""Calm down, Alpha. This is the law of the Wolf Code." The Elder coldly reject
