Chapter 7

ผู้เขียน: Ivy
Two days after I was discharged, Ethan said he had to go on a week-long border patrol to negotiate a peace treaty with the Northern Pack.

He left in a rush. He even had a Beta guard pack his luggage and deliver it straight to the private landing pad.

In reality, Daisy's social media location was tagged at the Crescent Moon Hot Springs—a sacred resort.

[Daisy: With my favorite Alpha, in the most beautiful sanctuary, enjoying our babymoon.]

The attached photo showed two paws clasped together by the spiritual spring water, with the sacred lake reflecting two full moons in the background.

The black-and-dollar wrist guard on Ethan's wrist—a symbol of his authority—was blindingly obvious.

I closed the app, looked around the empty, luxurious Alpha Villa, and began my final cleanup.

I dug out every portrait and oil painting from the last ten years. From my awkward first shift to the vows at our Mating Ceremony, from the Eastern Forests to the Western Wastelands. One by one, I tossed them into the fire pit in the garden.

Watching the memories curl, blacken, and finally turn to ash in the flames, my heart turned to ash along with them. Still and silent.

I went to the backyard. There stood a sacred Laurel tree Ethan had planted with his own hands when I awakened at eighteen.

Back then, he said this tree represented our love, blessed by the Moon Goddess—never withering, blooming every year.

I called for a gardener with a strength-enhancement gift and ordered him to uproot it.

"Luna, this tree holds the spiritual energy of the territory. It's growing so well; the buds are about to open. Are you sure you want to dig it up?" The gardener looked at me with a mix of pity and horror.

"Dig it up. The smell stinks." My voice was indifferent.

Watching the tree crash down, its roots—connected to the earth's ley lines—exposed to the air, I felt nothing but relief.

I returned to the study and found the Blood Oath scrolls and cards Ethan had written to me. I shoved them, stack by stack, into the magical shredding array.

The array hummed, and the sweet nothings that once made my wolf's heart race instantly turned into meaningless dust.

Matching wolf-tooth necklaces, couple's pelt rugs, all the taxidermy prey he had gifted me, those so-called trophies of war...

Anything that carried our shared memories or scent was cleared out, bagged up, and thrown into the waste disposal unit.

The entire den was so clean, it was as if I had never existed.

Just like what I was about to do—disappear completely.

The final day.

Four hours before my aircraft was set to depart for the Neutral Territories.

I was carrying my only suitcase, ready to leave, when the front door suddenly opened.

Ethan had come back early.

He was a shade darker from the sun, his face wearing the languid tiredness of a male who had thoroughly sated his carnal desires.

"Ivy? Where are you going with that suitcase?" Seeing the luggage on the floor, a flash of panic and suspicion crossed Ethan's eyes.

My heart tightened, but I kept my face impassive. I spoke as naturally as possible. "A few other Lunas invited me to the hot springs deep in the forest for a couple of days. Just to relax."

Ethan let out a breath of relief and walked over, trying to hug me. "You scared me. I thought..."

Before he could finish, he glanced at the phone screen lighting up on the coffee table.

It was a text notification: [The asset bond under your name has been successfully dissolved. All dollar coins have been transferred...]

Ethan's face changed drastically. He snatched up the phone, his voice rising to a roar. "Dissolved bond? What is this?"

My heart skipped a beat. I forced myself to stay calm, snatching the phone back and frowning in complaint. "Oh, that? It's so annoying. Human hackers have been rampant lately. It's a phishing text."

The excuse was weak, full of holes.

But Ethan was clearly distracted because his own phone started ringing. It was Daisy's exclusive ringtone.

He didn't dig any deeper. Hurriedly, he said, "Is that so? Well, be careful. The Council has an emergency waiting for me; I have to go immediately. Have fun at the hot springs."

With that, he didn't even change clothes. He shifted into his wolf form and sprinted out the door.

Watching his retreating back, I calmly whispered, "Goodbye."

Once I was sure he was far away, I took out my burner phone and opened the encrypted channel I had prepared long ago.

Recipient: Ethan.

Attachment: A full 2GB of data extracted from memory crystals.

It contained everything from the last two months: every provocative message, photo, and video Daisy had sent me, along with the chat logs of Ethan's filthy, treacherous vows.

This belated "big gift" would be enough for him to chew on for a while.

I set it to send on a timer—scheduled for the exact moment I crossed the territory border.

I removed the SIM chip, shredded it into dust with my sharp claws, and flushed it down the toilet.

I pulled up the handle of my suitcase and took one last look at the den that was once called "home," now nothing but an empty shell.

Goodbye, Ethan.

Subordinate packs began to break away one after another. Finally, the pillar of the family—the Grand Elder—couldn't sit still anymore.Bang! The villa's main door was blasted open by brute force.Leaning on a wolf-skull scepter, the Grand Elder walked in with a grim face, followed by the Family Enforcement Squad.Seeing his grandson living a life of drunken stupor, a disgrace to the family, the Elder's fur stood on end with rage."You bastard! For a female, you're going to destroy a thousand years of family glory?!"Ethan looked up with drunken, bleary eyes and giggled foolishly. "Glory? Without Ivy

After more than ten hours of exhausting travel, Ethan arrived at Mist Harbor in the Neutral Zone, covered in dust and weariness.Ignoring his need for rest, he clutched the photo and followed the clues all the way to a seaside inn."This is it! This is where the magical beacon last appeared!"Ethan stood in front of the blue wooden door, his wolf heart pounding violently against his ribs.He straightened his clothes, took a deep breath, and raised his hand to knock.Knock, knock, knock. No one answered."Ivy? It's me, Ethan. I know you're in there. Open the door, please. Can we just talk?"Still dead silence.Panic set in. Ethan started pounding on the door panel. "Ivy! Come out! I know I was wrong. You can hit me, curse at me, just please don't refuse to see me!"The massive commotion attracted the innkeeper.A plump Ursine shifter woman walked over and asked in broken Common Tongue, "Who are you looking for?""The she-wolf staying here! Her name is Aurora! Or Ivy!" Ethan gestured fra

Outside the clinic's operating room, the magical runes dimmed.Daisy was wheeled out, her face as pale as paper, looking as if her wolf soul had been sucked out.The surgery was a "success." The unformed pup, along with the sound of her shattered dreams of becoming Luna, had been flushed down the sewer. Before she could even wail, she was hauled up by two stone-faced guards and dragged into an armored van like a dead dog.The van sped out of the bustling central city, driving all the way to the desolate border wastelands a hundred kilometers away."Get out."The door opened, and the guards threw her out without a shred of pity."Ah!"Daisy landed hard in the muddy water. Her body, fresh from surgery, was in agonizing pain. She was still bleeding, her healing abilities completely failing her.ignoring her dignity, she crawled over and grabbed a guard's pant leg, begging. "Brothers, please, don't leave me here... Rogues and Vampires hunt here... I'll die... Let me go back to the territor

Thirty minutes later.A red modified off-road vehicle pulled up to the entrance of the Alpha Villa.Daisy, wearing custom leather boots and that provocative red silk ritual robe, strutted in like a proud peacock. She scanned the empty den with greedy, triumphant eyes. That old hag Ivy was finally gone. This territory was hers now."Ethan~"Seeing Ethan sitting on the fur sofa, Daisy instantly switched to her seductive persona. Just like always, she threw herself at him, intending to sit on his lap."I'm here... Did you miss me..."Slap!The crisp sound of a slap echoed through the spacious living room.Daisy was sent flying. She hit the floor hard, half her face swelling instantly. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, and her canine teeth were knocked loose.Clutching her face, she looked up at the man in disbelief. "Ethan... you hit me?"Ethan stood up, towering over her. His Alpha pressure crushed down like a mountain, his gaze as cold as if he were looking at an ant."How ma

"I'm not signing."Ethan pushed the thick severance agreement back. His wolf eyes were bloodshot, shining with a paranoid kind of madness."As long as I don't sign, the bond can't be broken. Jason, tell her I know I was wrong. I'll change. I'll send that she-wolf away. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to her..."Jason looked at the powerful Alpha crumbling before him. A flash of pity crossed his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by professional detachment."Alpha Ethan, Ms. Aurora anticipated you would react this way."Jason sighed. He didn't pull a second agreement from his briefcase. Instead, he pointed at Ethan's phone."She asked me to tell you that if you insist on not letting go, you might want to check your private encrypted email first.""It's the last thing she left for you before she departed."Ethan froze.Email? His hands trembling, he pulled out his phone and opened the private encrypted inbox he hadn't used in ages. The newest email was from "Ivy."There was no

The next morning.Nursing a pounding headache from liquor hangover and sporting a face full of bruises, Ethan sat in the reporting hall of the Pack Enforcement Division."I want to issue a Level One Search Warrant. My Luna is missing."The Enforcement Elder checked the database and frowned. "Ethan, according to the information you provided, your former mate left behind a signed Bond Severance Agreement and voluntarily deregistered her wolf mark. This is a premeditated, voluntary departure from the pack. She isn't a missing person. We cannot mobilize the tracking unit.""She is missing! If I can't find her, she's missing!"Ethan slammed his hand on the table, roaring. His claws gouged deep grooves into the metal surface. "I have the dollar! I’m not short on cash! As long as you help me start a territory-wide search and authorize access to the surveillance, I have plenty of resources to donate to the Council!""Calm down, Alpha. This is the law of the Wolf Code." The Elder coldly reject
