CHAPTER THIRTY NINE

The following morning, Lanaya went for a stroll outdoors on the expansive property.

The temperature was hot, and the sun was intense. She felt a headache within the first few minutes since she was not used to this stimulation. Lanaya clenched her teeth and continued on her way.

Believe me, I've been through far more difficult times. That's what she told herself. Having a headache is no big deal.

Half an hour later, she was experiencing migraine with pulsating pain, causing her eyes to cross. There was a beautiful bench beneath a tree with tiny white flowers but few leaves, and she was fortunate to have found it. The small bit of shade that the tree did give landed right on the bench's surface.

She sighed and sat down.

Another film was viewed the night prior. However, things went smoothly and without any worries. They were no longer the same people, and Lanaya was afraid of the implications of this shift. Even though she had become more courageous, she was afraid of her boldness.
