Chapter 24: Burn the house down

"...So are you going to tell me why you were walking on the streets last night?"Hayden asked softly. 

When we got to his house, he didn't ask any questions, he only took me to my room and said I should call him if I wanted anything. 

I was grateful thinking he wouldn't ask again but now, sitting at the dining table with him, he suddenly asked — catching me off guard.

I set my mug on the table and contemplated telling him or not. I sighed"My rent expired last two months ago, the landlord has been patient with me but he...he rented my apartment out and threw my things out of the house before I went home yesterday."
