That day, Lidon woke up to a different morning.

His brain was on fire like an apocalypse just happened last night and he knew exactly what he should have done to prevent it from happening but instead he just slept through the night, waiting for someone to do it. Pathetic. He was still that same boy, peeking through the cracked wall and staring at the back of the young chief Raius, the man whom he swore fealty to and admired more than his life.

He was in the middle of his complicated thoughts when there was a loud banging at the door. The house where they stayed in only had one room available for Maryan but lucky for him, there was a nearby shed where they kept their gardening tools. At least they had the decency to let him sleep although he was trained to hold his drowsiness.

The banging wouldn’t stop and Lidon opened with a full swing of his arm.

It was Maryan. And there were tears in her eyes.

“G-go to the house,” she stammered, her face in a state of shock.
