Battles

Alpha Killian stirred the steaming pot of vegetable stew, feeling relieved that it was almost ready. He had been cooking for the past hour, desperate to do something to make Riana feel better. He knew the grief of losing their child was still so fresh and raw for her, but he felt helpless to do anything to ease her pain.

He ladled the stew into two bowls and brought them to the table, where Riana sat, her expression sad and distant. Alpha Killian sat down and pushed one of the bowls toward her.

'I know it's not much, but I made this for you,' he said, trying to sound cheerful.

Riana looked up, her eyes wet with tears. 'Thank you,' she whispered.

Alpha Killian reached out and put his hand on hers, squeezing it gently. 'I know it's hard,' he said softly. 'But we'll get through this together.'

Riana nodded and forced a small smile. She picked up her spoon and began to eat, and Alpha Killian felt a little of the tension in the room begin to ease. He watched her eat, feeling a little relie
