It was already seven in the morning, and Alexandra did not have a wink of sleep. She was sure to have a nightmare if she did.
Though Dr. Savannah sent sleeping pills, she didn't use them yesterday because of her bad mood. She was a night owl, always active at night.
She needed to buy the best wines in the UK and treasure them in her wine collection. She would savor it every time she gets a nightmare.
She was certain it would taste be better than any of the best wines she had.
She had ordered Halton to bring her cherished wines from the US, but that worthless donkey refused. Warning her it was injurious to her health. Like he cares. Pfft, what a joke!
"Good morning, young miss," Margretta greeted with a pleasant smile on her face.
"Good Morning Aunt Margretta," she greeted back. Alexandra smile at her like an innocent child which made Margretta's heart skip a beat."What's for breakfast?"<Halton lazily waited beside Alexandra's car in the underground parking lot. She took some time to arrive since she was changing her clothes inside the mini room attached to her office. She had another nosebleed this afternoon and stained her clothes. Since it would take a while for her to arrive, he decided to have a smoke. He dragged a cigarette out of the pack and placed them between his teeth. He ignited the tip using the platinum lighter. He was so engrossed in his own thoughts to notice the angry young woman shooting dagger behind him, with her fearsome eyes. "How many times have I told you to stop smoking when you are around me?" Halton flinched. He turned around to see Alexandra who had changed her clothes from her white formal wear to a little black dress, and a white coat draped around her shoulders. He immediately threw the cigarette on the floor and ground it under his shoes. "I wasn't expecting you-"
In the VIP section of the Mason City Club. "Sir, we have a problem downstairs," Steve informed. Jonathan could read Steve's concerned expression. Jonathan turned on the screen that was a mirror for people downstairs. He was shocked at what he saw. The woman he is head over heels with is now single-handedly beating the living hell out of two men. His eyes gushed out a freezing artic wave as he recognised who these men were. "Whoa! That's the woman you wanna pursue?! Bro, she is way out of your league!" Jacob cried. Just seeing the one-sided fight scene gave him the jitters. "No, I can't let go of her..." He noticed she was about to leave so he immediately climbed downstairs. "Stop right there." He called out. The vast audience shifted their attention to the handsome blue-eyed man wearing a formal suit. They discourteously presumed Jonathan Jonas is here to sue Alexandra for property damage. She turned to Jo
All of this happened so fast that Jonathan couldn't apprehend anything. He was beyond terrified. She lays soulless, in the middle of the road in a pool of her own blood. Her entire body was losing all of its strength. She was forcing her eyes to not lose light. Tears started to well inside her dying eyes. The only feeling she had now is pain. She had gone through worse than this, but this pain was different. She could see her whole life playing like a grayscale movie. She did not want to die like this, not today, not until she gets justice. Jonathan held her head slowly, his hands coated with her blood. "I-I don't want to die like t-this I haven't lived enough..." Alexandra's consciousness started to wither by. Her eyes collected all the might to gaze at the person who was on the verge of crying. Her vision wavered back and forth, everything was blurry as a mist hovered before her eyes. But she saw someone familiar even though she ha
The morning rays kissed on her eternal face with its warmth and she opened her eyes that are equivalently radiant as the sun. She blinked and looked around, she didn't remember seeing this place before and confusion struck her. Her attire had changed into blue hospital clothing and half of her body was covered in thick layers of bandages. She misunderstood that she was in a hotel room instead of a hospital room because it looked too comfortable and lavish for a hospital ward. She looked around there was an IV pole beside her, machines and Woah!Jonathan was sleeping beside the chair beside her. The sullen eye bags indicating the sleepless nights he was having and his face looked drained from all its energy and it appeared more chiselled with his skin sticking to his bone without any meat between them. Did this man decide to starve himself to death? even so, he looked handsome. She lifted his hand towards his face she felt a su
For some reason, Alexandra loved seeing that baffled on Jonathan's face, oh how hard he is trying to not look sympathetic for her. "She is my mother, half of her blood runs in my veins and my own blood is my greatest enemy." Alexandra jeered. Jonathan was not unsure what to say in this situation."If you are pitying me then I don't need it" She responded, after reading his face. Alexandra was always looked down upon by people since she was young just because she was born a bastard. They always pitied her and why? Everyone acknowledged she was not the daughter of Gabriel Roberts. She was labelled as Winchester's, but even so, her grandfather did not give up on her and treasured her like a priceless gem."Why would your mother try to kill you?" He needed to get to the bottom of this. He was determined to protect her even if it proves her own mother is a threat to her life."You do not need to know," She said, he couldn't possi
After talking with the private investigator, he finally tracked down the whereabouts of the man who attempted to murder Alexandra. The man is an assassin who had recently left the country. He knew the man was backed by someone influential, otherwise, there is no way he could hide from the authorities and flee to another country.Jonathan opened the door to Alexandra's room and what he saw made him freeze at the spot. Halton, her clingy PA was hugging her along with another unknown woman. He was forced to believe that Halton had some kind of intimate relationship with this woman. Maybe even in a romantic light...He frowned at the thought."What is going on here?" He asked coldly. His eyes cutting through Halton and Jordan."This guy..." Jordan narrowed her eyes and looked back at Halton. Halton shook his head, gesturing her to shut up.Jonathan kept his keen eyes on Jordan and approached the trio at
"Care to EXPLAIN what's going on?"Halton heaved the longest sigh, he needed time to manoeuvre convincing lies, but her eyes could search through his soul like a radar."First, stop looking at me like you wanna murder me in my sleep," Halton cried. Her sombre appearance intensified even more."That's just how my face works right now, get to the point," She grumbled."Where should I start?""Did you alter the will?" She asked. She knew that won't be possible for Halton because of his dyslexia. Halton couldn't read or write for that reason. And even if he did alter it, it should have been with the assistance of someone else who could."I could never do that," Halton responded, making a hurt expression."Then why didn't Ernest Brown mention about the proposal?" She asked. She knew the family lawyer for the longest time. He wasn't the kind to bite the hand that fed him."I begged Ernest bro
"This is the bastard I was talking about," Alexandra sexily susurrated into Jonathan's ear. He shifted to the man who was held back by his men. "You did this on purpose," Jonathan murmured while trying to read her eyes. She had a cunning smirk, like that of a Cheshire chat. She was going to get away from his lap but she was held in place by his strong arms. Alexandra's face almost grimaced but regained her facade. She veered her attention to Kyle. "Oh, cousin dearest! We were having a heated session here but of course, you had to show up to interrupt us." Alexandra mocked with her caustic eyes. Kyle pulled himself away from the guards and barged inside the door, knocking things off the table. Kyle's bloodshot eye
