Seeing Steph looking so desolate broke my heart even more than it was already broken. She looked completely crushed. Her normally bubbly and self-confident demeanour gone. Even through the dark shades that she used to cover her face, I could see clearly that she had gotten little sleep, and most likely had spent a good chunk of the evening crying.

I wanted to go over and speak to her. But the moment I stepped into her direction, she turned her back and stalked away refusing to even meet my gaze. Making it clear that she was not yet ready to talk to me.

On top of it all. It was time to say goodbye to Jace, again. Something that I had wished to avoid.
