CHAPTER 2

*ATHENA'S POINT OF VIEW*

I dialed my lawyer's number and after a few seconds of ringing, he finally picked it up.

“ Good day sir, please prepare a divorce paper, I'm divorcing my husband" I said coldly before ending the call.

I was expecting Sebastian's call, I knew it was going to be a huge shock to him. And almost immediately, just as I had predicted, my phone rang and the caller id was none other than Sebastian Stone, my almighty husband.

A cold smile formed on my lips as I stared at my ringing phone.

“ Let's see who begs the other now" I snarled icyly. I had never been this way before, over the years, I was a calm and caring little wife but Sebastian had woken up the monster in me.

After the phone rang to my heart's content, I decided to pick it up.

“ Have you gone insane, Athena?!" Sebastian barked, his voice sounding raspy. “ The hospital called and said Sienna needs urgent treatment as soon as possible! What do you want huh? Name your price! Ten million? Five million? What?! Fifty million?!”

My gaze instantly darkened as he said those words, there he goes again! Money! Money! Money! I am not that desperate for money, goddamn it!

"Sebastian Stone," I said, my voice cold and cutting. It was unlike me to speak in such a way, but the circumstances demanded it. After all, he was the one who had forced me to this point. "Meet me in your office in an hour or two, or else your precious Sienna will pay the price."

I knew my words would shock him, but I couldn't bring myself to care. I had been pushed too far, and now I would do whatever it took to make things right. He would regret ever treating me like trash!

With that, I hung up the phone and tossed it carelessly on the bed.

“ Bastard!" I cursed through gritted teeth.

I could hear my phone pinging again and felt like dragging off my hair with frustration and anger.

I grabbed my phone from where I had carelessly tossed it and the message that popped up on my screen made me let out a bittersweet smile.

‘ $10,000,000 fund transfer from Sebastian stone' it read.

“ Ha!" I laughed and it was easy to detect the pain in my voice. “ So I'm this cheap, huh?" Saying those words, tears gushed down my cheeks like an endless flow of water.

I sat there, head bowed, tears streaming down my face. I let myself cry for what felt like hours, releasing all the pain and anguish I had been holding inside. Finally, when I felt I had cried out my grief, I slowly stood up from the bed and walked to my wardrobe. I chose an outfit that was both intimidating and flawless, knowing that I would need to project a strong and confident image in the hours to come.

As I stood in front of my closet, surveying the clothes inside, I knew exactly what I needed. I wanted something that would make me feel powerful, something that would convey my strength and self-confidence. I reached for a simple black dress, its silhouette simple yet striking. As I pulled it on, I felt the fabric caress my skin, and I knew it was perfect, I needed no one to tell me that.

Today was my last day with Sebastian and I didn't want him to see him as weak, I wanted him to see me as a strong and intimidating woman! Sebastian had crossed his boundaries, I had always been a calm and composed woman but not anymore! He was going to see the worst side of me and I was going to enjoy every bit of it!

After I was done with everything, I walked out of the closet and checked my phone. I had ten missed calls from Sebastian! And he was calling me right now!

I rolled my eyes, ended the call and tossed my phone inside my bag before heading out of the house.

Outside, I braced myself and entered my car before zooming off almost immediately.

Once I arrived, I got down and hurriedly entered the company.

I put on a brave face as I approached the towering skyscraper where his office was located. The entrance was crowded with people rushing in and out, and I felt like a tiny fish swimming against a massive current. I pushed through the crowd and took the elevator to the top floor, where I knew I would find him.

I stepped off the elevator and into the reception area, where a polished young woman sat behind a large, impressive desk. She looked up at me, a look of recognition crossing her face.

"Mrs. Athena," she said, her voice low and respectful. "I'll let Mr. Stones know you're here"

“ Okay" I said with a light smile.

"Mrs. Athena," she said again, "if you'll please take a seat, Mr. Sebastian Stone will be right with you."

I nodded and sat in one of the large, plush chairs that lined the reception area. As I sat, I could feel the tension in my body. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. I knew this meeting would be difficult, but I also knew it was the right thing to do. I just hoped I could be strong enough to get through it.

“Athena," a deep, familiar voice called. I looked up and saw Sebastian standing there,

Sebastian stood there, looking as polished and perfect as ever. He was wearing a dark suit, and his hair was neatly combed back. He looked as handsome and unruffled as always, but I knew him well enough to know that he was just as nervous as I was. He gave me a small smile, but I could tell it was forced.

"Hello, Athena," he said, extending his hand to me. I took it, I could no longer feel the familiar warmth of his touch, instead, I felt disgusted knowing he was just putting up a pretentious act. "Thank you for coming."

I nodded, trying to keep my voice even. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it for anything" I replied, a mi

schievous smirk dancing on my lips as those words left my mouth.
