It was the night of Blood Moon when my life began to fall apart as I got marked by not one but three of my Alpha best friends.

They kissed the nape of my neck, his fingers tracing my collarbone. My body writhed with longing.

It was no one’s fault. The Blood Moon had its hold on us, and we were all powerless under its grip.

On my back, as the three alphas hovered over me.

Their eyes dripped with lust for me. I could feel their desire pulsing through them.

The Blood moon appeared once every fifty years. According to the legend, its red light amplified a wolf’s primal nature. One could go into heat and mate with anyone on this day. 

It had an influence on us and I ended up sleeping with them. 

Damian, Ryan and Kane were my best friends as long as I knew them and were the Alphas of the Northern pack. All three of them had shifted at the age of twelve and were found out to be Alphas. 

Kane shifted into a grey wolf with powers of ice and became the youngest tactical commander. Ryan, who was a half-breed, shifted into black wolf with powers of lightning and was famous for his combat skills.  Damian shifted into a white wolf with powers of the wind, being the fastest in the entire pack. 

Then there was me. A wolfless omega. People thought it was odd that I was good friends with Damian, Ryan and Kane. Unmated females in the pack got jealous that an omega was getting so much attention from them. 

Some even tried to bully me or advised them to treat me as a slave. 

Yet they always chose to be kind to me.

When I opened my eyes, I found my naked body buried between them on the carpet. 

Outside the French window, the white curtains danced under the soft breeze while the full moon was in a deep shade of red. 

My face was buried in the left side of Kane's broad chest, his body smelling of cedar mixed with cold iron, reminding me of winter. 

On my right was Ryan, smelling of black pepper and strong whiskey. His muscular arm was wrapped around my waist, his hot breath falling on my nape. 

Damian was curled up next to my leg, his face pressed to my thigh like a pup holding its mother. His scent was completely different from the other two, smelling like wet earth after rain. 

I pulled my hand away from Kane. Instead of letting me, he pulled me closer onto his chest, a low, possessive growl leaving his throat. Ryan’s grip on my waist tightened as well. 

It felt like the two were competing in their sleep. I touched the swelling on my neck. Why was it throbbing so much? I could feel three distinct areas of my neck and shoulder area hurting constantly. As I got a feel of one of the swellings, my eyes widened in shock. 

That wasn’t just a simple bite or hickey. The fact that it hurt so much could only mean one thing. It was a mating mark! 

I touched the other two spots and it was similar.

“What!” A loud gasp left my lips. I was marked not once but thrice! 

Damian woke up on hearing my voice and looked up. When my eyes met with his deep green ones, he noticed the state we were in and jumped away. 

“Oh Goddess!” He yelled as he jerked backward, his back hitting the overturned coffee table. One of the glass shards pierced his palm but he didn’t seem to care. 

His voice woke Kane. It took a while for him to realize the situation as he looked at me with his frosty blue eyes. He seemed confused at first and his gaze softened for a second before it turned completely cold. He quickly let go of my hand as if I was burning him and created a distance between us. 

Ryan groaned as his eyes opened to the chaos. His eyes glowed golden in the dark, showing that his wolf had come to the surface. It didn't take him much time to judge the situation as he looked at my body and the marks on my neck. 

“Fuck!” He got up, walked over to the window and pulled the curtain shut, shutting out the red light that had caused this.

For a while, no one spoke. 

I touched the marks on my neck again and blushed. “I am bound to the three of you since you marked me.” I reported. 

“How is it even possible?” Damian asked. “The Blood moon only affects wolves. You’re wolfless.” He said and I flinched at the harshness in his voice. He was the sweetest of the three, but he wasn’t at that moment. 

“I know. But it did happen,” I retorted. 

“Be honest. Did you take advantage of the Blood Moon to get into bed with us?” Kane asked. It hurt to see the suspicion in his eyes. The same eyes that used to hold warmth while he protected me against my bullies. 

“I didn’t do anything! I’m as lost as you guys are,” I defended myself.

“Alright. We believe you,” Damian said, this time a little more gently and I sighed in relief. 

Kane's icy gaze melted to a softer blue as we both looked at each other. “Aria, you are our closest friend and we cherish you. But what happened was wrong. It shouldn’t have been like this.” He pointed at us and I clutched the carpet as sadness took over. 

“D-do…you guys regret it?” I asked hesitantly as I looked at each of them. I expected Kane to say he did but he didn’t answer. 

Damian looked at me and my heart skipped a beat as I saw his gaze lit up with excitement for a moment. He wanted to say something but he stopped himself. 

Ryan’s eyes met with mine and he took a step forward. He had the sharpest features amongst the three and a strategic mind yet he always used to act carefree in front of me, laughing and joking. 

But he quickly looked away and clenched his jaw. Instead of answering my question, he said in his Alpha voice. “There must be a way to break the bond.”

“The Elders will find a way to do it,” Kane said quickly. 

My eyes widened. “But breaking the bond will—” 

“The bond will be broken, Aria…” Kane emphasized using his Alpha aura, the wave of his authority weighing on my body strongly since I was bound to him through the bond. I bowed my head under its weight and winced as my neck hurt. He realized it and pulled his aura back. 

“I’m sorry…” he said and when I looked up, I saw regret on his handsome features. It wasn’t out of hurting me. Instead, it was out of seeing how closely bonded we were and the mistake that led to it. 

“Kane’s right. We can’t be bound to you. An omega can’t be mated to three Alphas,” Ryan spoke, his tone harsher than Kane. 

My stomach felt heavy with dread. I knew he was right yet it still hurt. 

“I didn’t ask for it either,” I said, trying to hold back my tears that pricked my eyes. 

“Then pretend it never happened, Ari.” Kane said with not a single ounce of hesitation in his voice. It was like I had been stabbed. 

I looked at Damian. His brown curly hair looked messy as they fell on his handsome face. “Is that what all of you want?” I asked, hoping they’d change their mind. Hoping that all those years of protectiveness and care they showed me was out of love. 

“Yes. Pretend this never happened. Please.” It sounded more like a request and I could sense the hesitation on his part. 

My heart shattered. All hopes I had came tumbling down in a second. 

I was a fool to think they had feelings for me as well. Why did I even think that? Maybe it was how they looked at me or how they always acted possessive over me. 

Or how they once said, “We’d take better care of you than your lover would.” 

Either way, it was all out of kindness and nothing else. 

“Alright. I accept it.” 

“You do?” Kane asked, the iciness in his gaze replaced by shock and there was a hint of hurt but maybe the light was playing tricks on me. 

I stood up from the floor, my legs feeling weak and accidentally stepped on a shard of glass that pierced my foot. 

“Hey! You’re bleeding. Wait, I’ll get the healing balm…” Damian rose from the floor quickly. 

I shook my head, trying to avoid his gaze so he doesn't see how broken I feel. “I’ll tend to it once I go home. It doesn't hurt.” 

It was the truth. Rather the pain was a welcome distraction from the ache I felt within. 

I picked up Damian’s shirt from the floor to cover myself up before leaving. It was way bigger than my body but the familiar scent it had made me feel at ease. 

“Where are you going?” Ryan asked, the concern clear in his voice. 

“Home.” I replied as I headed to the door. 

“I’ll have someone take you…” 

“I don’t need anything from any of you.” Those were my last words before I left, hiding the tears that rolled down my eyes.
