"You just got home?"
Alexander ignored Kimbeerly who had just asked him when he walked into the room. He placed his briefcase on the table and left for the bathroom just like that. Ignoring Kimbeerly who watched him leave with a sad look on her face for being ignored by her husband.
Alexander peeked out briefly to see Kimbeerly, the woman picked up his briefcase and put it in the right place then poured water into an empty glass which the woman drank. Alexander sighed softly and refocused on what he was about to do. Clean up and rest after a full day of work.
Kimbeerly sat on the sofa in the room. Now and then she looked at the bathroom, which was still closed. She waited for Alexander to have dinner with her because she had been waiting for his return since a few hours ago, but he didn't seem to want to see her. He didn't even respond to her words. Kimbeerly felt disappointed because Alexander rarely did something trivial like this to her.
Alexander came out of the bathroom and saw Kimbeerly sitting and looking at him. "Sorry to ignore you, but I'm tired right now," Alexander informed her.
Kimbeerly revealed her smile. "Alright. I'll bring the food to the room then. You don't have to go downstairs and put your clothes on while you wait for me."
Alexander responded with a small nod. Afterward, Kimbeerly leaves with Alexander who then picks up his clothes, replacing the full body towel he was wearing with a nightgown. She was really tired today, especially considering the piles of work files and the non-stop client meetings since morning. Kimbeerly? That woman... never mind.
The door opened and Alexander, who had just finished changing, turned around. Kimbeerly came in with a tray full of food. Alexander immediately took over the tray and placed it on the table. He didn't let Kimbeerly lift anything heavy.
"You shouldn't force yourself. I can pick it up myself later."
Alexander's words made Kimbeerly stare at the man intently. Perhaps Alexander was so tired that Kimbeerly's every action and word offended him. Kimbeerly tried to think positively and ignore the bad thoughts she had for Alexander because usually, Alexander wasn't like this. Yeah... Kimbeerly was just trying not to cause trouble with her thoughts.
"No problem. This is for my husband so that he doesn't get too tired of moving around. Let's eat and we can rest. Don't get too overwhelmed with work. You'll get sick later if you push yourself."
Alexander raised one eyebrow before nodding in the end. He took a seat beside Kimbeerly and waited for her to get his food. Seeing Kimbeerly who was so painstaking with what the woman did, Alexander himself felt that Kimbeerly loved him without thinking. If only she knew who he was, maybe Alexander wouldn't feel like this with this beautiful woman.
"Al... eat."
Alexander woke up after hearing Kimbeerly's voice. He immediately took the plate that Kimbeerly handed him and began to eat quietly. Meanwhile, Kimbeerly looked back at Alexander who was just silent and enjoying the food. Usually, the man would invite him to chat or just joke but not for now. kimbeerly felt Alexander was ignoring her even though she tried to think positively.
Alexander looks calm and thoughtful even though his hands and mouth continue to work with the food, making Kimbeerly smile because she finds Alexander's actions funny. Kimbeerly again held back her desire to know more by diverting it to her food.
Alexander finished his meal early. He wanted to rest immediately because he felt his body was too tired. "I'll bring it to the kitchen after you're done. Just call me."
Alexander walked over to the table and looked at his cell phone to call someone. He sent a message before walking further away so that Kimbeerly would not hear their conversation.
"I'll transfer. I can't go home and get some sleep first."
Kimbeerly ate her food with her mind unable to calm down. Alexander is talking to whom to give personal space and even avoids Kimbeerly, who is his legal wife. The man seemed happy with his conversation there, unlike when Kimbeerly asked which was ignored. Kimbeerly looked down, watching her food which was still quite a lot.
Question after question began to occupy Kimbeerly's head and it made her uncomfortable. She didn't want to think negatively of Alexander and cause problems in their relationship. It was better to keep quiet and try to think positively of Alexander and that maybe Alexander was talking to his friend and joking around.
"Are you done?"
Alexander asked because he saw Kimbeerly who was just staring and not eating the rice and side dishes she had spooned. Kimbeerly smiled slightly and went back to eating. Alexander then sat beside Kimbeerly and watched her silently.
Beautiful, he thought with his lips in a faint smile.
"Don't pay attention to me, Alexander. I feel nervous."
Alexander nodded slowly in agreement. He sighed softly and leaned back against the sofa. "I guess I'll be out of town for work for a few days after this. Are you okay at home by yourself?"
Kimbeerly turned her head. "How many days have you been out?"
Alexander looked thoughtful. "A week?" he replied hesitantly with a questioning tone.
Kimbeerly almost choked in shock, but she quickly grabbed a drink. Looking at Alexander again and speaking again, "I'm fine. But... when are you leaving and with whom?"
"Two more days and alone. It's more like I'm catching up with my partner."
Kimbeerly nodded in understanding. She put down her plate after finishing and drinking. Meanwhile, Alexander looked at Kimbeerly for a while and then moved on.
"You get some rest. I'll return this first before catching up with you."
Kimbeerly nodded in response. Afterward, Alexander left with a tray of food on it. Kimbeerly accidentally saw Alexander's cell phone lying beside him. She wanted to look at the contents of Alexander's cell phone, but doubts filled her head. After all, she had to trust her husband more than her stupid thoughts. Kimbeerly wasn't going to do it.
Kimbeerly took Alexander's cell phone and moved it to the nightstand. She then entered the bathroom to clean her teeth and face before going to bed. By the time she returned, Alexander was also back and lying on the bed. Kimbeerly smiled and laid down next to Alexander.
"You look really tired," Kimbeerly said with Alexander keeping his eyes up.
Alexander just nodded in response without looking at Kimbeerly who was now watching him. Kimbeerly nodded in understanding and began to close her eyes, but there was a feeling that made her want to know more clearly what was going on with Alexander. The man looked so tired but Kimbeerly thought Alexander was hiding something from her.
Kimbeerly exhaled softly as she tried to ignore her thoughts. It was break time, she was afraid that if she asked Alexander about it he would get angry.
Never mind. Alexander is not the kind of man you should be suspicious of, Kimbeerly soothed herself.
“Don't you feel sorry for them?”Alexander turned his head at the sound of Velena's voice. He looked at his cousin carefully and then looked away again. Velena, who saw this, let out a long breath. Alexander was really selfish and probably still had a lot of trauma. Yes... Velena already knew everything. Everything Alexander had done all this time behind her back and even when they hadn't separated yet. Velena couldn't blame Alexander for the hurt in her after what happened to her parents a dozen years ago, but Velena also didn't condone the way Alexander had hurt so many people even those who had done nothing wrong to him and Kimbeerly. Velena would never have known if Alexander hadn't suddenly returned home five years ago when she had only been home for a few days. Because when Velena asked Alexander to return home the man would say he couldn't because he was busy with his work and Velena thought that all that time Alexander was really working like what the man said, but beyond Ve
“Wow... how cool!”Kimbeerly smiled at her son who cheered happily as soon as they reached the beach. As Kimbeerly had promised earlier that she would take Gabriel out to play and her son was eagerly waiting because for three months Kimbeerly had been so busy with work that she couldn't spare any time for Gabriel. “Mom ... can I go there?” asked little Gabriel with a face waiting for his mother's answer. Kimbeerly smiled before finally nodding in agreement to Gabriel's request. “Be careful, Gabriel. I'll follow you from behind.”Gabriel smiled widely with both hands giving a thumbs up to his mother. “Sure. Let's go, mom!”Gabriel trotted a bit towards the seaside with Kimbeerly following closely behind. His lips couldn't stop smiling. She never thought a simple thing like this could make Gabriel so happy. Time flies, Kimbeerly thought. Gabriel played with the sand and sea water while occasionally showing off his happiness to Kimbeerly. Kimbeerly was not far from Gabriel and kept a
Several years had passed but everything was still the same as if it had just happened yesterday. That's how Alexander always felt after his departure from the Libason family. Yes... everything had changed but not him. Shutting himself away and continuing to feel like it was all just a bad dream. Event after event kept replaying in Alexander's mind and seemed to haunt him. About the revenge he planned, about the Libason family who became his main target, then about the misunderstandings that occurred during that time and finally returned to their respective lives. All are still vividly remembered in Alexander's memory. “Al. When will you be done?”Alexander turned his head. Flashing a faint smile at someone who had also returned after a while of leaving him alone. It was Velena, the daughter of his uncle who had now returned to her former life just like Alexander, only with different status and proportions in some parts. “In a moment. Go ahead, I'll catch up soon,” replied Alexander
A smile is constantly on Kimbeerly's lips. How could she not? All her hopes have come true and she can prove to everyone her ability to work without having to drag her family name. The reason is, the client who was originally met by Kimbeerly is a person who is so not easy to work with opponents even with very interesting projects. Kimbeerly called today a lucky day because everything that had been planned was destroyed and needed sudden repairs, but all of that finally paid off with Mr. Renald who wanted to cooperate with the project that Kimbeerly proposed. “When are you going to stop smiling. Miss?”Kimbeerly turned her head upon hearing Revaluna's complaint. She chuckled, slightly embarrassed. “I just didn't expect that I'd be able to get a client to work with me. It's my first time so I can't stop thinking about all the effort I put in and it's all because of your help, Revaluna.”Revaluna nodded. “You're really good, Miss. You almost did everything by yourself and I only helped
It was a tough month according to Kimbeerly because during that month she was full time caring for Gabriel even with the help of her family but she still focused on Gabriel because she knew after that she had to struggle with work and other things for her and Gabriel's future life. Kimbeerly did not want to continue living with her family, so she thought of starting to work to help the company, which was also at an unbalanced point at the time. Assisted by her uncle, Edward Kimbeerly is really serious about her work in order to make the company stable again or even more advanced than before. Although her time continues to focus on work, Kimbeerly does not forget as a mother to take care of her child even though the mother and servant at home spend more time with Gabriel. Kimbeerly cannot rely on others continuously in her life, therefore she must also be more independent and do whatever it takes to earn an income. After all, she is a highly educated woman and would be ashamed if the
The sound of the baby crying out made everyone who had been waiting inside or outside the room smile with gratitude and happiness. They had been waiting for three hours and finally what they had hoped for since the beginning came to fruition. Kimbeerly gave birth normally like what the woman wanted even though at first her family asked to do a Caesarean section to make it easier but Kimbeerly still insisted on having a normal birth. “Congratulations on your first baby boy, Miss Kimbeerly.”Kimbeerly smiled and was still trying to catch her breath after the struggle she had gone through earlier. “Thank you for your hard work helping me, Doctor.”Kimbeerly kissed the tiny baby in her arms who was still crying with her eyes closed. How grateful she was today. The long-awaited source of strength had finally materialized and it was her son. The baby who has always been her spirit in living this bitter life. Finished with taking care of Kimbeerly all the doctors and nurses left and left o
