Sebastian POV
"We have to split ourselves into groups, so we will be able to search for her quickly," Aurora's father suggested.
I nodded my head, agreeing with him on what he had just said, the guards who I had brought alongside me formed three teams.
"One should comb the forest, another should search the river shore and the other should search on top of the cliff" I gave out my orders to the three teams.
They all bowed their heads in reverence to me, before walking away.
"Are you sure that Aurora didn't come to meet with you?" Her mother asked me while I was walking away with one of the team.
I turned around to answer her but when I saw the way she glared at me, I was taken aback.
"Does she know anything?" I wondered as I gulped in my saliva while thinking of what I was going to say to her.
"I saw her from a distance but I never talked to her" I answered, with a firm voice that would leave anyone covinced.
"Mother, please stop pushing this further, Sebastian isn't one to hurt Aurora, I have seen how much he cherishes her so there is no way that he would harm her" Laden spoke on my behalf.
I turned my gaze to him, wondering what exactly he was trying to drive at, what point he was trying to make.
"I know Sebastian wouldn't, not when it comes to Aurora, he is as worried as we are and he needs her to be there because she is going to be his Luna soon," he added.
" Let's go, every time wasted here is pulling us away from getting to find Aurora, I need to have my mate with me," I said to Laden, before walking away with the guard.
I climbed up the steep stone leading up to the top of the cliff. I had taught Aurora how to climb the cliff and was intending to teach her how to jump down when she finally turned into a wolf but it didn't happen.
"Search everywhere, I do not want you leaving any stone unturned, we must find Aurora and we shouldn't give up on the sack to do so" I ordered the guards who walked ahead of me.
The night was cold and I could feel it as the cold air caused goosebumps to form on my skin.
"I can perceive her scent, it is stronger here. '' I screamed out to the guards, who ran with me as I picked up the pace to where Aurora's scent was the strongest.
I stood underneath the tree where her scent had led us but still, there was nothing that showed that she had been there and it gave me a headache.
If Aurora wasn't so lazy and if she had her wolf at least she wouldn't have been missing, and we wouldn't have been searching for her amongst the woods.
What was she doing in the woods in the first place? I wondered and I hissed as I kicked my toe against a stone.
I clenched my fist angrily, Aurora was the cause of all this.
If she hadn't decided to go missing, I was sure that I wouldn't be in the forest in the first place.
"We have to take a look at your toe," one of the guards who had heard me hissing out in pain, suggested but I wasn't ready for that at the moment.
I glared at him, before shoving him aside, he was trying to help and gossip about it later on and I wasn't going to let that happen while I was with him.
" A little obedience doesn't hurt anyone" I heard a whisper and I turned around, searching for who had said that, but there was no one there.
"Did any of you hear that?" I asked the guards who stared awkwardly at me, and I knew that they were oblivious to what I had asked and they knew nothing about it either.
"It is nothing that you should worry yourself about," I waved them off but I could see the glances that they shared wondering if everything was okay.
"Do not test my patience," I said angrily at one of them, who I had caught with a smile on his face.
The smile on his face faded away immediately after it came and I was satisfied with myself for that.
"You should take a look at your toe, we wouldn't want the Alpha having our heads for not taking care of you properly,"
" I am supposed to be in charge of you, not the other way round so it will be best if you keep whatever silly thought that you are having out of your head" I warned, firmly.
I didn't want any gossip getting to my father, he could act irrationally at times and I wouldn't want to risk that, not when It was just days before I would be made Alpha.
"Let us take a rest" my toe was aching badly, and I needed to rest a little bit.
The moon shone brightly and its light was welcoming, I was vexed that I couldn't attend the party that was usually thrown on the day that the moon was at its brightest
Aurora was making everything hard for me even when she left my life. I hated everything that had to do with her, It was annoying to me.
"We have been here for hours now and we haven't found anything yet, why don't we go back to the pack, the moon has almost faded away anyways" one of the guards suggested.
I stood up, before stretching my hands high above my head, what he had just said made sense and I was getting tired also.
"Nooooo '' I heard a voice scream from within the forest and it alerted me and the guards who were with me.
We sprinted toward the direction where the cry had come from and was stunned by what we were seeing.
I could tell the owner of that red jacket that Laden was holding because I had gotten it for her and I saw it on her
"What is wrong?" I questioned even though I knew what was going on already.
The probability that Aurora had jumped down from the cliff into the waters was high, so I walked forward and I stared into the water.
There was no way that she was going to survive the fall, especially since she didn't know how to swim but still it was for the best.
One less pest to worry about, I smiled as I walked back
"Who has done this?" Laden growled as he turned to me furiously, clenching on the jacket angrily.
I didn't want to be caught, I couldn't afford to.
"Is this Aurora's? No this cannot be" I shook my head as my knee came in contact with the ground.
"It is son, it is Aurora's" her father uttered behind me, his voice breaking at intervals.
I felt relieved and happy as I grinned inwardly, I wasn't going to have a weakling as my Luna, not anymore.
"Anyone who had hurt my sister will pay dearly for this" Laden's chill voice hit me, his eyes blazing and I prayed to Selina, hoping I would never be caught.
Sebastian POVThe walk back home was depressing, everyone seemed to be grieving as no one could find the right word to say, not at this moment. I held Aurora's Jacket and her shoe, clenching them tightly, her scent wafting into my nostrils reminding me of the last conversation with her and how it had turned out. I ran my gaze at the people who were walking beside me and I exhaled when I saw none of them looking back at me. I was sure that I had that guilty look on my face and if I was caught, it wasn't going to help. "You have to be strong mother, Aurora will come back soon," I heard Laden console his mother, with his hands wrapped firmly around her and I wondered how he was going to feel if he found out that she wouldn't be coming back. I wondered what thought was running through his mind at the moment and for the first time in a long while, I wished that I could find out what was going through someone else's mind. I wanted to know what he was thinking about at the moment, I nee
Sebastiana POV "How about we stay calm, father?" I asked while fidgeting, there was a belief that whatever the ancestral goddess said was real and I didn't want her to find out what I have done to Aurora. "Son, what did you say?" My mother asked me, her eyes glinting with tears, and my eyes broke at the sight of it. Different thoughts ran through my mind as I thought of what she was going to do to me if she found out what I had done to Aurora, her Aurora. I shook my head, dissuading the thought from my head, I had to do whatever I had in mind and I had to act fast. " Aurora was everything to me and I cannot stop thinking of how life would have been with her by my side" I placed a hand on my chest, caressing it gently as though I was in great pain. "She deserves justice, and that is what I am going to get for her" I glanced at the faces surrounding me, and my heart hitched when I saw those faces. Those faces that had heard me talking harshly to Aurora, glanced at me with stunne
Aurora's POV"What do you mean mother?" I questioned her, wanting to know what she meant by what she had just said."My diamond," she caressed my cheek running her hands on them gently. "It is nothing that you should worry yourself about" she assured me, but I wasn't having it. Not after I have heard what she had said. "Mother" I muttered out gently to her, not withdrawing her gaze away from those eyes, those eyes that spoke volumes and looked like mine. "You shouldn't hide things away from me," I objected when she attempted to walk away from the room, leaving me in the care of the maids who had been assigned to me. "It isn't time yet, Aurora," she fixed her eyes on mine. Her skin glistened when it came in contact with the sun."Then when will it be time, mother?" I knew that I had just gotten here but still, I wanted to be involved in everything that concerned them, I wanted to relieve them of the stress that they had gone through while searching for me and I wanted her to know th
Sebastian POV"Come along with me" my father made gestures at me as he made his way toward the part of the pack which has been assigned to the ancestral goddess. My face was devoid of emotions and I knew that anyone who saw me in the present state that I was in would be scared of even approaching me, I knew that I was supposed to be scared, scared that I would be caught but I couldn't bring myself to.My gaze traveled to the sky where the moon seemed to be fading, making way for the sun to come through and I felt faint. My toe ached badly and I frowned slightly as I struggled to meet my father who was walking at fast paces. "Is something wrong, son?" My father turned around, taking a look at me, I shook my head at him, motioning at him to continue walking but it seemed that he wasn't having it. He scrutinized my outfit before fixing his gaze on my legs. " You are limping,""I am okay, father, do not let this little injury of mine stop us from going to find out where my mate is, it i
Sebastian POVThe expectant look on the faces of the people we had left behind broke my heart as I took a step closer, although I didn't care about Aurora but still, seeing the people who I was going to rule over soon in so much pain, made me unhappy."What did she say?" Mrs. Alexis asked while wiping the tears that were in her eyes as she walked toward us. "Mother" Laden called out gently, placing an arm around her trying to stop her from tripping over when she mistakenly stepped on a stone"My Aurora" she glanced at me as though she was hoping that she would be in my hands, and she would take her home with her. "Alpha," she gripped my father's clothes, squeezing them tightly but Laden was quick to pull her away. ''I wouldn't cry" she shook her head. "Not anymore, because I know Aurora is fine and she will come back to me, Laden" she screamed out her son's name, as though he wasn't close to her. "We aren't going to relent in whatever we are doing," she gave an order to him, which
Sebastian POVI gulped in my spittle as I stared at Karen whose arms rested on my chest, he had a smile on his face that sent chills down my body and although it left immediately it came, I couldn't still get over how scary it was."Look" I tried to get his attention, but his eyes were darkened and it showed that he wasn't going to listen to whatever it was that I had to say. "You gave us your word" he pointed that out to me and I nodded because it was true, I had given them my words and I intended to stand by it until my mother's sudden interruption this morning. "Let me go '' I shoved him aside as I made my way to my closet. I needed to get the clothes that I was on off because it had been a hectic day for me and I couldn't condone any complaints from them. "You shouldn't act rudely toward us, Sebestian" Karen spoke behind me and I placed my hands on my waist before tugging at the shirt which I had on."You should know that you cannot afford to let your secret out"his voice came
Aurora's POVThe cold air seeped through my spine as I lay still, trying to get a recollection of what had happened earlier on. "You shouldn't have" I groaned inwardly, angry at myself for letting Sebastian's words get to me. Again. I was sure that he was having the best life out there while I was here, getting hurt by the very words that he had said to me before I had fallen off the cliff. I felt a huge weight roll off my shoulders when I gazed at the door, I was sure that no one was there so I let my gaze wander to the window which had been left open and I wondered who had done that, goosebumps formed on my skin and I was tempted to shut the window but I couldn't. " My legs" I muttered in shock as I felt a weight on them. "I can't walk anymore?" I questioned out loud, my heart beating in trepidation. "Noo, that cannot be" I chuckled softly trying to dispel whatever ill thought that I was having but still, I couldn't lift them, no matter how hard I tried to. "Mother" I exclaimed,
Aurora's POV"Zeeb" my mother called out the name with so much hate that I could feel it in the way that she had called his name, it was almost like she was passing a message to me with the way she had called out his name. "It sounded better when you were calling me honey" he retorted, causing me to squint my eyes at what I had just heard. Wait! Does this mean they were lovers? Hell no. This was getting interesting. I turned my gaze from my mom to the man standing in front of me who had a smiling face, one that looked like he couldn't hurt a fly, but I knew them better because Sebastian was just like this.He had been showing everyone who cared to know that he wouldn't hurt me and he was the lovely Alpha of the pack but who knew he would break me this way?"Don't you think that is irrelevant? Besides you never came close to my husband while you were asking me out," I rolled my eyes, trying to get what they were saying, they seemed to be talking in circles. Circles that only they kn
