Aurora's POV
I bit hard into my lip as I thought of the perfect answer to give, I was fidgeting and I didn't even know until my mum hugged me tightly."I gave it all, mother," I turned my gaze from my father until it landed on my mother. I was waiting to see the disapproval on their faces but there was none."I gave it all to one man, my body, my soul, and even my heart, I thought that he was worth it all but he turned out to be the worth mistake in my life"" He belittled me, called me names, made me hate myself just because I wasn't a wolf and I wasn't fit enough to be his mate,"" Mother he humiliated me, made me wish that I was dead, and when I got home and found out the truth that I was adopted, my heart shattered" I sniffed while blinking severally." I got home to inform my parents of what Sebastian had just but there, at that very moment, I heard that I was adopted, they loved me, mother, my adopted parents did"" They treated me well and I would have never wished for someone else but they kept the truth away from me''I still feel needles penetrate my body whenever I thought of the betrayal, but I was comforted by the fact that I had met my parents."You are a Lycan, princess, a Royal Lycan and you get to choose your mate yourself" my father said calmly to me.I was astonished at what I had just heard as I glanced at my mother for confirmation and she nodded her head, agreeing with what my father had just said."You get to turn into a Lycan when you are a complete human and you have to go through rigorous training and after two years, you will turn into a Lycan" he continued." But father, are there instances where a Lycan is mated to a werewolf?" I asked, still stunned at what I had just found out.I have heard about Lycans before and I have always marveled at how great it would be to have one of their qualities."Although there are rare cases where a Lycan is mated to a werewolf, it rarely happens but yes, it does happen '' my father answered with a smile on his face."Am I going to be one?" I couldn't get the voice out of my head, the one telling me that I was going to be a disappointment here also.I didn't want to fail my parents just like I have failed Sebastian and I was worried, I didn't want to be seen as a failure." You are my one and only heir, Aurora and I am glad that you are back in my life I am going to do whatever it takes to protect you and make sure you get the throne after me" he reassured me.I couldn't get my mind over what my father had just said. If he was going to make sure I get the throne, does that mean that he has an enemy who doesn't want me there?"Your name was given to you the instant I held you in my arms, I couldn't get over the excitement I felt, you made my world come alive with your presence and I am blessed to have you" he had a happy look on his face." My necklace" I ran my hands on the necklace that I have grown up with, the one which my foster parents had always told me to hold properly."They always told me to tend to it properly, because it would be helpful in the future, but I never thought they meant this moment" I glanced at my parents who exchanged gazes."They have been giving me clues, clues which I should have been able to connect the dots all this while but still, I haven't" I gazed at my father and my mother.I had misplaced the necklace which I had been given and I didn't know where I was going to search for it."Your presence is all we need, Aurora," my mother reassured me when she saw the frantic look on my face."I don't want to be a disappointment to you, I do not want to be called a failure and have you blamed for my errors, I do not think that I am eligible enough to succeed you as your heir" I averted my gaze as I told them the greatest fear in my heart.Sebastian's words kept coming to me and I was beginning to see reasons with him. I wasn't worth anything and whatever I touched crumbled to the ground I do not want the same to happen to my parents."Shush" my father held my hands, rubbing them softly."You are Aurora, daughter of the King of Arizona kingdom, and in Arizona, we do not back down, in Arizona we fight until we become the winner and I know that you are a warrior" my father's voice was authoritative." You are a warrior Aurora and warriors do not quit before they start, I am with you all the way and I will be in charge of teaching you everything that you need to know," my father said to me." I wouldn't disappoint you father, I wouldn't disappoint you mother" I reassured them, this time with a firm voice.I wasn't going to let what Sebastian has said weigh me down, I was going to muster up the strength within me and train hard to become the Lycan that I was supposed to be." Your majesty" I heard a knock on the door and I turned my head to it at the same time that my parents did."Duty calls just right outside that door, Aurora, I will be leaving now" he leaned forward and kissed me gently on the forehead causing butterflies in my tummy.I watched as he walked toward the door, his back firm and his robe flowing behind him."Mother," I called out softly to her while staring into her green orbs that were the same color as mine."Thank you mother," I had a grateful look on my face and I hoped that she was going to see it."Thank you for coming back to me, Aurora and now, you have to get prepared, I need to introduce you to the court which I hold power over"" Mother?" I called out calmly, I wasn't ready to meet anyone yet, not now, not when I didn't know who was on my mother's side and who wasn't."You will do fine, Aurora, trust me" she squeezed my hands reassuringly.I was about to tell her that I didn't want to go anywhere, that I wasn't ready to meet anyone yet but when I saw the smile on her face, I halted."I do not think I will mother, I do not still want to disappoint you or father and I ought to be careful"I watched as fear flashed through her face as she heard what I had just said."I am going to make sure that he doesn't touch you," she said with a firm voice that caused me to shiverSebastian POV"We have to split ourselves into groups, so we will be able to search for her quickly," Aurora's father suggested. I nodded my head, agreeing with him on what he had just said, the guards who I had brought alongside me formed three teams. "One should comb the forest, another should search the river shore and the other should search on top of the cliff" I gave out my orders to the three teams. They all bowed their heads in reverence to me, before walking away."Are you sure that Aurora didn't come to meet with you?" Her mother asked me while I was walking away with one of the team. I turned around to answer her but when I saw the way she glared at me, I was taken aback. "Does she know anything?" I wondered as I gulped in my saliva while thinking of what I was going to say to her. "I saw her from a distance but I never talked to her" I answered, with a firm voice that would leave anyone covinced. "Mother, please stop pushing this further, Sebastian isn't one to hurt
Sebastian POVThe walk back home was depressing, everyone seemed to be grieving as no one could find the right word to say, not at this moment. I held Aurora's Jacket and her shoe, clenching them tightly, her scent wafting into my nostrils reminding me of the last conversation with her and how it had turned out. I ran my gaze at the people who were walking beside me and I exhaled when I saw none of them looking back at me. I was sure that I had that guilty look on my face and if I was caught, it wasn't going to help. "You have to be strong mother, Aurora will come back soon," I heard Laden console his mother, with his hands wrapped firmly around her and I wondered how he was going to feel if he found out that she wouldn't be coming back. I wondered what thought was running through his mind at the moment and for the first time in a long while, I wished that I could find out what was going through someone else's mind. I wanted to know what he was thinking about at the moment, I nee
Sebastiana POV "How about we stay calm, father?" I asked while fidgeting, there was a belief that whatever the ancestral goddess said was real and I didn't want her to find out what I have done to Aurora. "Son, what did you say?" My mother asked me, her eyes glinting with tears, and my eyes broke at the sight of it. Different thoughts ran through my mind as I thought of what she was going to do to me if she found out what I had done to Aurora, her Aurora. I shook my head, dissuading the thought from my head, I had to do whatever I had in mind and I had to act fast. " Aurora was everything to me and I cannot stop thinking of how life would have been with her by my side" I placed a hand on my chest, caressing it gently as though I was in great pain. "She deserves justice, and that is what I am going to get for her" I glanced at the faces surrounding me, and my heart hitched when I saw those faces. Those faces that had heard me talking harshly to Aurora, glanced at me with stunne
Aurora's POV"What do you mean mother?" I questioned her, wanting to know what she meant by what she had just said."My diamond," she caressed my cheek running her hands on them gently. "It is nothing that you should worry yourself about" she assured me, but I wasn't having it. Not after I have heard what she had said. "Mother" I muttered out gently to her, not withdrawing her gaze away from those eyes, those eyes that spoke volumes and looked like mine. "You shouldn't hide things away from me," I objected when she attempted to walk away from the room, leaving me in the care of the maids who had been assigned to me. "It isn't time yet, Aurora," she fixed her eyes on mine. Her skin glistened when it came in contact with the sun."Then when will it be time, mother?" I knew that I had just gotten here but still, I wanted to be involved in everything that concerned them, I wanted to relieve them of the stress that they had gone through while searching for me and I wanted her to know th
Sebastian POV"Come along with me" my father made gestures at me as he made his way toward the part of the pack which has been assigned to the ancestral goddess. My face was devoid of emotions and I knew that anyone who saw me in the present state that I was in would be scared of even approaching me, I knew that I was supposed to be scared, scared that I would be caught but I couldn't bring myself to.My gaze traveled to the sky where the moon seemed to be fading, making way for the sun to come through and I felt faint. My toe ached badly and I frowned slightly as I struggled to meet my father who was walking at fast paces. "Is something wrong, son?" My father turned around, taking a look at me, I shook my head at him, motioning at him to continue walking but it seemed that he wasn't having it. He scrutinized my outfit before fixing his gaze on my legs. " You are limping,""I am okay, father, do not let this little injury of mine stop us from going to find out where my mate is, it i
Sebastian POVThe expectant look on the faces of the people we had left behind broke my heart as I took a step closer, although I didn't care about Aurora but still, seeing the people who I was going to rule over soon in so much pain, made me unhappy."What did she say?" Mrs. Alexis asked while wiping the tears that were in her eyes as she walked toward us. "Mother" Laden called out gently, placing an arm around her trying to stop her from tripping over when she mistakenly stepped on a stone"My Aurora" she glanced at me as though she was hoping that she would be in my hands, and she would take her home with her. "Alpha," she gripped my father's clothes, squeezing them tightly but Laden was quick to pull her away. ''I wouldn't cry" she shook her head. "Not anymore, because I know Aurora is fine and she will come back to me, Laden" she screamed out her son's name, as though he wasn't close to her. "We aren't going to relent in whatever we are doing," she gave an order to him, which
Sebastian POVI gulped in my spittle as I stared at Karen whose arms rested on my chest, he had a smile on his face that sent chills down my body and although it left immediately it came, I couldn't still get over how scary it was."Look" I tried to get his attention, but his eyes were darkened and it showed that he wasn't going to listen to whatever it was that I had to say. "You gave us your word" he pointed that out to me and I nodded because it was true, I had given them my words and I intended to stand by it until my mother's sudden interruption this morning. "Let me go '' I shoved him aside as I made my way to my closet. I needed to get the clothes that I was on off because it had been a hectic day for me and I couldn't condone any complaints from them. "You shouldn't act rudely toward us, Sebestian" Karen spoke behind me and I placed my hands on my waist before tugging at the shirt which I had on."You should know that you cannot afford to let your secret out"his voice came
Aurora's POVThe cold air seeped through my spine as I lay still, trying to get a recollection of what had happened earlier on. "You shouldn't have" I groaned inwardly, angry at myself for letting Sebastian's words get to me. Again. I was sure that he was having the best life out there while I was here, getting hurt by the very words that he had said to me before I had fallen off the cliff. I felt a huge weight roll off my shoulders when I gazed at the door, I was sure that no one was there so I let my gaze wander to the window which had been left open and I wondered who had done that, goosebumps formed on my skin and I was tempted to shut the window but I couldn't. " My legs" I muttered in shock as I felt a weight on them. "I can't walk anymore?" I questioned out loud, my heart beating in trepidation. "Noo, that cannot be" I chuckled softly trying to dispel whatever ill thought that I was having but still, I couldn't lift them, no matter how hard I tried to. "Mother" I exclaimed,
