Aurora POV “Mum, Dad, you’re early,” I greet my mother as she beams up at me. The woman is small long blonde hair and grey eyes. Dad, or should I say Matthew, stand in the doorway with their bags on the floor as Rosa and some of the gaurds help bring them inside.“Is this anyway to greet your mother?” She fusses, looking me up and down before her lips press into a tight line. “We should have come here sooner. I’m so sorry sweetie, I just thought,” her eyes glance at Matthew before looking behind me to where my mates are before she adverts her gaze. “We’re here now,” she gives me a warm smile before she greets my mates and Matthew gives me an awkward hug. To my surprise, behind her are Elio, Kara, Aria and Xander.“You’re here,” I just about say before Kara gives me a knowing smile and embracing me as I swallow a mouthful of her dark curls. “The kids wanted to see their cousins, and I figured it might help. Besides, we have some news.” Her gaze flits to Elio as he swallows, not lookin
Caleb POV I woke up to my phone blaring as I rolled over to see who was calling. The sleep instantly left my eyes when I saw the name flashing on the screen. “Fuck,” Sitting up slowly, I watched the phone ring as I took a deep breath when I slide the call button to answer. The line was dead. Instantly the phone rang again, seemly louder and more annoyed than last time.“Hello Marius,” I greeted as politely as I could whilst my heart kicked itself up a few notches. The line was silent for a few beats as sweat prickled my scalp and I checked to make sure the call had indeed connected. Each second that passed had me second guessing myself. Maybe he was just calling for a chat? Perhaps my panic was for nothing.“Caleb. I thought I made myself fucking clear that you weren’t allowed to visit my pack,” he started, his voice eerily calm. quiet. I couldn’t stop myself from swallowing from the hairs that rose on the back of my neck.“What makes you think it was me that came to your pack?” Play
Sabastian POV “Caleb, if you're right and the woman was from your vision. That Teddy is behind this. Their magic is far more powerful than we realised. For us to all see something different - we’re out of our depth. Teddy wanted us to come those nights. He allowed it. You think now we know he will let us even at the border of the pack?” I clarify as Caleb shakes his head, his eyes scanning back and forth on the glass of his lenses.“No, they can’t be that powerful. If there were any witch or warlock with that much power, then wouldn’t they be in charge of all the packs?” it’s a good question and yet something stirs in the back of my mind as I wheeze in a breath. Reaching for my cigarettes, I light up as Gabriel growls at me, grabbing my smoke and snuffing it out. “Are you insane? I’ve told you to stop smoking countless times. This time I’m deadly serious.” We stare daggers at each other for a moment before I relent. My lungs are tight, sore, swollen as I recover.“I don’t think you h
Caleb POV “Is Aurora right? Did you both see anything?” My mind whirls as I think back to that night. How Teddy gave us those gold outfits to wear with the symbol of the sun and Helios all over them. How he plied us with alcohol and good food and we were all just grateful he didn’t get out the night shade petals again. Had that relief been enough to make us forget? What had Teddy said to us that night? He had ignored Aurora. Or so I thought. Then there was Mila … did she create a diversion? “Don’t beat yourself up Caleb. None of us noticed anything out of the ordinary.” Gabriel begins, his brow furrowed, but Sabastian looks skeptical.“But don’t you think it was odd that we had been gone a day only to return out of the blue where he had a dinner party and clothes all our sizes ready for us? It’s a little suspicious then there were his guests … they just seemed a little off,” He tsks, shaking his head as if trying to grab hold of a memory and failing miserably.“Did you enter their mi
Caleb POV“No, baby girl, that necklace is on the video Jaden showed us, look I have it here.” I pass the video to Aurora, getting up from my seat as she takes her a look, her eyes widening before her brows knit together. “This is Teddy’s. He has the same one,” she insists, but I don’t remember seeing this necklace on him.“Say it is his. And he is behind this. We never saw Luca when we were there. We searched their pack and throughout his house there was no sign of some evil lair.” I remind here but she shakes her head.“Ethan said he scented Luca. We must have missed something!” Aurora stands up, moving out of Gabriel’s hold to pace up and down, her little fists scrunched up as she gets more and more flustered.“That was just wishful thinking, Angel. I wanted Luca to be there so badly because then we would finally have some answers,” Ethan responds, looking down at the twins. We all want answers - me more than ever. I always have them. Always know what is coming next. I have a plan
Aurora POVRosa had cooked dinner for everyone, as we were all exhausted. The kids had been playing with their dads whilst Sebastian rested. He was putting on a brave front for me and the kids, even his brothers. But I knew how much he suffered. I could feel it with every breath he took.I wished that I could feel Luca the same way, to know if he was okay to feel that connection to him, that I might be able to comfort him in some capacity. I wished for it for all my kids. Violet and Logan had some kind of intuition where they could communicate or understand each other. It was obvious with the way they sat side by side, their movements in unison. No doubt it made Luca feel even more alone. We watched a movie, all seven of us. It felt like the most normal thing we had done since Luca left. As much as we needed it - it also felt as if we were moving on carrying on with our lives. That didn’t sit right with me. I thought about Luca night and day no matter what we were doing, but it was ge
