ETHAN'S POV

I couldn’t believe her nerve.

How dare Amelia act like everything was fine between us, promising me a dance while strolling in with her arm looped around another man’s right in front of me? The image burned into my mind… Amelia walking out with Nathaniel Brooks, her laughter echoing as if I didn’t exist.

Why would she do that? The thought gnawed at me, twisting my gut.

Then that voice in my head whispered, She’s not yours anymore, remember? It only fueled my anger, a bitter mix of rage and sorrow.

Watching her waltz across the ballroom in perfect sync with Nathaniel, my chest tightened so much I could barely breathe.

Why was she doing this to me? Acting like she wanted to mend things one moment, then flaunting her ability to thrive without me the next.

I sighed and turned away from the sight, a bitter smile tugging at my lips.
