AMELIA'S POV

●●●●

Right after Ava chased Julian out of the vicinity of her house like a crazy dog, I crouched down low to pick up the bouquet of flowers which he left on the floor, claiming it was mine. The moment she came walking back to the door where I was standing close to, she stared at me, then down at the bouquet of flowers in my hold before making her way in without a word.

I felt pretty bad, leaving the spot where I was to step outside the gate and toss it into the trashcan. Just then, a little boy of Etha's age walked past and dropped a sheet of paper near my feet on the asphalt, running off playfully. I kept my gaze fixed on him till he was out of sight, stooping to pick up the sheet and read the words written on it.

~You've somehow managed to land a maid job at the mansion. Your start date is tomorrow, so don't try to mess it up. Show up early enough to begin your new role.~

Huh...

The more I thought about it, the more I got convinced that Ethan was behind this.

How rude!

ETHA'S POV●●●●“Breath in!” Lisa said to me over the phone, her words causing me to inhale sharply, air filling my lungs.“Breath out!” She added, picking up on the faint sound of my exhale. Given the fact that our rock-solid bond was built during our primary school days, which started from the very first time when she approached me at my desk in class and ended up taking a walk with me within the premises till we got to the library where we both eavesdropped on Freddie and Rhianna's conversation, I knew I could trust her with anything, as she has always chosen to have my back. In other words, she's my confidante, one whom I trust so much with my life. I confided in her about Freddie's proposal_the papers, the ring, the whole shebang, seeking her honest opinion and advice on what to do. Whereas, she convinced me to make the move, that I wouldn't regret signing the papers and accepting the ring, now look where it had gotten me into. “Etha?!!! Are you still with me? Hello? Please t

XAVIER'S POV ●●●●Returning back to the mansion, I found Jenny waiting at the doorstep, her hand clutching on the handle of her luggage box tightly, which I had thrown out with her earlier. I thought I asked her to leave and never come back. Didn't I make it crystal clear that I don't want to ever have anything doing with her anymore? Why then won't she take no for an answer? I don't want her in my life. She should leave me alone, that's it. She quickly let go of the handle of her luggage box to go down on her knees since I was now close to her, clinging to my knees to beg, “Xavier, please! Please forgive me! I'm so sorry for hurting you, baby! Just don't kick me out, I beg you. I don't have anywhere else to go, please! Look, I promise I'll change. I'll make things right, please. Just don't leave me.” I won't go back on my words. I've had enough! It's over between us now. “You're no longer welcome here! Take your affairs with your cousin elsewhere. Just keep doing whatever you

ETHA'S POV ●●●●“Hmm!” I hummed softly, my eyes fixed on Freddie as he took a seat. “You know what? I'm gonna go up right there to grab a first aid kit. You look like you're about to pass out soon.” I added, turning towards the stairs with a flick of my hair across my face, but before I could take a step, he had grasped my hand. “I'm sorry!” An apology rolled off his tongue. “You're sorry?” I raised a curious brow at him. “What exactly are you sorry for? That you fought him because of me? C'mon, you should be more concerned about your well-being right now. You should be sorry for yourself for getting hurt, you know?!!!” I added. “No, Etha! That's not what I meant. I'm talking about what occured between us last night. Listen, I didn't mean….” He was going to apologize, but I cut him off. I saw no need for the apologies. Besides, I was carried away too. I didn't know what came over me. I was just really excited about his plans to help further my education, that's all. “I'll…I'll

FREDDIE'S POV I turned my head and saw her. Etha, standing at the top of the stairs, her hands pressed to her mouth. Her eyes were wide, filled with fear and shock.“Etha…” I breathed, still gripping his shoulder.“Stop! Both of you!” she yelled, her voice trembling but firm. The sound of her voice cut through everything—the anger, the adrenaline, the pain. I loosened my grip slightly. Xavier froze too, glaring at me but also startled.“I… I didn’t mean—” Xavier started, but she waved him off.“Don’t! Both of you, just… stop!” she shouted, tears welling in her eyes.I stepped back, shaking, blood dripping down my face and hands. Pain flared through my ribs and arm, but I ignored it. I looked at her, and for the first time in the fight, I saw the fear in her eyes.“Freddie, I… I can’t watch this,” she said, her voice shaking. “Please, stop. I don’t want this anymore. I don’t want anyone hurt. I don’t want… this.”I clenched my fists, breathing hard, and glanced at Xavier. He was sitti

FREDDIE'S POV I shoved him again, hard, and he stumbled back, hitting the porch railing. I heard the wood crack slightly.“Careful, Xavier!” I shouted. He laughed, holding his shoulder where he hit the railing. “You think you can scare me?”“I don’t think. I know,” I growled. Before he could react, I lunged at him. My fists connected with his chest. He stumbled back but didn’t go down. He caught my arm, twisting it sharply. I hissed in pain but yanked free, my knuckles scraping against his shoulder. A thin line of blood appeared on my skin.“You’re bleeding,” he smirked, leaning in.“Not enough,” I shot back, swinging a punch at his jaw.He ducked, narrowly avoiding it. “You hit like a child,” he said. “Come on, show me something real!”I lunged again, this time grabbing his collar. I shoved him into the wall of the mansion. His head hit the side lightly. He grunted and shoved back, his hand catching me on the side of my rib. I let out a sharp breath. Pain flared, but I didn’t stop.

  • Revenge Of my Ex- Mother In Law   Chapter 107

Freddie's POVThe morning sun soon came, but the light felt cold. She wasn’t the same as last night. After everything, after what had passed between us, she had changed. Not cruel, not cold—but distant. No laughter, no teasing, no soft words. Just quiet. And her eyes avoided mine whenever I looked her way.I watched her sit upright in bed, arms crossed, staring at the wall. I wanted to speak, to touch her, to ask what had happened. But the words wouldn’t come. She had made it clear with her silence.I let her be.I rose from the bed, careful not to disturb her. My legs carried me down the stairs to the kitchen. I needed to make tea. Maybe that would soften the mood. Maybe it would give her a reason to speak.I filled the kettle, water gurgling as it warmed. The smell of tea leaves filled the air. I set two cups on a tray, carefully arranging sugar, milk, and spoons. I wanted her to feel cared for, even if she wasn’t speaking to me.The sound of the doorbell made me flinch. My heart sk
