~ CINDY’S POV~

Henry’s voice was so loud and hysterical, I could swear the neighbors down the street felt the tremor rattle their walls.

I laughed.

Laughed like the devil herself had taken over my soul.

“Funny,” I said. “That’s exactly what I was about to ask you.”

Henry blinked, stunned for a moment like he hadn’t expected me to throw it back in his face.

“I didn’t cheat! Monica and I—”

“Monica and you are a joke,” I cut in, voice sharp.

“You brought another woman into our marital home and called her your ‘real love.’ So don’t you dare… preach to me about cheating.”

“That’s different! Do you know how hard it is to be married to someone who’s crippled? It’s—”

“Oh, so now you’re the victim?” I laughed softly, not missing the way Vivian narrowed her eyes behind him.

“Don’t twist this!” Henry barked.

He stepped forward, wild-eyed.

“You’re doing this because of that clause. Because my father made it so I can’t divorce you. You’re trying to punish me—”

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 12

~Cindy’s POV~The woman’s face twisted, and then—oh, classy—she flung herself onto the floor, fake tears welling in her eyes.“Are you just gonna sit there and let this bitch ruin our fun and assault me like this?” she whined, pouting up at Damian. If there was one thing I hated more than liars, it was grown-ass women throwing tantrums. If only she knew he hated tantrums more than I did.I turned just in time to see Damian’s expression shift. His jaw ticked and his body coiled.Without a word, he stood, stalking toward her. The second he loomed over her, she stopped crying, pushing herself up with a smug smile.“I knew you wouldn’t choose her—”“Big mistake,” he growled. Before she could process it, he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her toward the door. She didn’t even struggle, too stunned to react as he shoved her into the hallway.“Next time,” he said coldly, “learn to be professional and, most importantly, stop sleeping with clients. I don’t do whores.”With that, he slammed t

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 11

~Cindy’s POV~I found myself standing in the hallway of the Skyview Hotel, my stomach twisted in knots. Why the hell was I here? I couldn’t even explain it to myself. All I knew was that after that disastrous breakfast with Damian and the Callahans, and then the stupidly thoughtful gesture of sending his driver, Martin, to deliver the entire buffet to my place, I couldn’t shake the guilt. He left his work, dropped everything, just to show up for me. Inconvenienced himself enough to sleep on a couch. And how did I thank him? By running my mouth and throwing every mean thing I could think of right in his face. Ungrateful brat, table for one. By noon I couldn’t take the heaviness in my chest anymore. I called Ric, told him to find Damian’s location before I lost my nerve. Ric didn’t disappoint. A few minutes later my phone buzzed with his text: Room 174, Skyview Hotel, Panel Road. Took me way too much small talk to get this out of Elis. Love, R. And that’s how I end

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 10

~Damian’s POV~I tore through the streets of Texas City, hands clamped around the steering wheel so tight my knuckles ached. My jaw locked. My throat too.Her voice would not stop replaying in my head. You are just a small-minded man with deep mommy issues, hiding your trauma behind a cheap mask of mischief and stupidity. The hit landed every single time.Am I really all that?My throat felt tight, and I gripped the steering wheel tighter. The last woman who made me feel this small was her. It has always been her. Every other woman treats me like royalty, but Cindy? She stomps on my ego, grinds it into the floor, and still somehow makes me crawl back for more. Why am I still this obsessed with her?She has made it crystal clear she does not feel a damn thing for me and probably never will, but here I am, still hoping like the idiot I am that she might be mine someday. One call from Ric and every ounce of my self-respect went out the window. In the blink of an eye, I am already playing

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 9

~CINDY’S POV~By the time I made it downstairs, the ache in my knees had dulled, only to be replaced by the burn of walking in on the Callahans enjoying breakfast without me.All spoons halted midair as their sharp eyes pinned me in place, especially Mr. Hen-prick’s.I almost smiled at the Damian-induced nickname, but his expression upstairs kept replaying in my mind, tightening my chest.I shoved it away, squaring my shoulders and lifting my chin under their collective glare. The table was a picture-perfect spread: fluffy scrambled eggs gleaming golden under the light, stacks of pancakes dripping with syrup, sizzling bacon curling at the edges, fresh bread still steaming in a wicker basket. The smell wrapped around me, warm and rich, making my stomach tighten with hunger.Monica’s handiwork, of course. Lydia and Vivian couldn’t cook to save their lives. When I married into this family, I cooked for them despite my condi

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 8

~CINDY’S POV~I tugged the duvet tighter, trapping what little warmth I could as the freezing sting of the AC crawled over my skin.A low groan escaped me, my senses dragging themselves back from what was possibly the best sleep I’d had in three years.Nothing—and I mean nothing—beat the luxury of stretching out my legs without waking up cramped. My knees still throbbed faintly, which was expected considering I was still recovering… and that I’d been reckless enough to force myself into four-inch heels yesterday just to make the baddest entrance of my life.Worth it.Nailed it.I rolled over on the couch—thanks to ‘damn him’—and my cheeks heated instantly at the memory of his bratty smirks… and that kiss. Not again, Cindy.I yanked the duvet over my head and kicked my legs out across the cushions.Except… wait. This wasn’t the couch. The surface beneath me was too soft.I ripped the duvet down and blinked into the bright morning light, only to see him lounging on the couch instead. On

  • Revenge With My Brother’s Best Friend    Chapter 7

~DAMIAN’S POV~The door clicked shut behind us as we stepped into a tastefully furnished room.Spacious, stylish, and yeah — very her.I gave it one lazy sweep, my eyes dragging over the queen-sized bed with its hospital-neat sheets, the nude, minimalist aesthetic — clean lines, soft neutrals, painfully serious. So very Cindy.Probably thought this boring-ass color scheme screamed “class.”To me? It screamed “emotional constipation.”There were two doors at the far end — bathroom, closet, probably. Above the bed hung some abstract frame art that looked like it had been scribbled by a depressed toddler.Nice try, though.Cindy hadn’t said a word since we got in.(She’s probably still dripping wet from that kiss.)I smirked to myself. After all these years, I finally get to see her again, and this time, I’m not the sixteen-year-old she broke. I’ll break her instead.I stalked lazily to the bed and dropped down onto the plush mattress like I’d paid rent on it for months. Then, because I’m
