**AVA'S POV**

I still couldn’t believe it. My eyes widened in shock. I staggered back, clutching my shoulder—I had been shot. Blood was already soaking through my clothes, and worst of all, I wasn’t hearing Jia. She just wasn’t helping me. I tried to reach out to get her to call for help, but she didn’t respond. I dropped to my knees as my legs suddenly became weak, unable to keep me standing any longer.

The man tucked his gun away, shoving it into his pocket, and walked toward me, slow and steady, smiling smugly like he’d just won a bet that earned him millions. Once he arrived where I knelt, he crouched down so that he could look me in the eye.

“Wolfsbane,” he said. “It works like magic. Even the strongest werewolves can't resist wolfsbane, and neither can you. You can’t resist it. You know, I do enjoy you bragging about everything you are. Well, look at you now—how hilarious.” As he spoke, he beat his lap with his palm, laughing in my face, and I couldn’t do anything about it

Ava's POVI stared into Morticia's dark eyes, my jaw clenched so tight I thought my teeth might crack. "You said it wouldn't hurt," I spat, the phantom pain from the vision still coursing through me. "What the hell was that?"She rolled her eyes as if my suffering was nothing more than an inconvenience. Rising from the bed with fluid grace, she glided toward an ornate vase perched on a table at the far end of the room. Her pale fingers traced the ceramic surface in lazy circles."Come now, dear," she purred without looking back. "I didn't expect you to get so... heated. It's just a terrible past. Get over it."I released a heavy sigh, watching her theatrical display. "I *am* over it." The lie tasted bitter on my tongue. "So you're a raven. You make people see visions—force them to relive their worst nightmares. You should have told me from the start." My voice dropped to a whisper. "I thought your kind was extinct. How is there still a raven in this world? And why the hell are you wor

Ava’s POVI stood frozen in front of the door, heart pounding in my chest. I already knew who was behind it. I didn’t need to open it. I didn’t need to see their faces. I could feel it—their presence, their cruelty waiting on the other side.My hand trembled by my side. I wasn’t ready to face this again. Then I heard her voice.“You must play along,” Morticia whispered in my ear, her tone calm but sharp. “You must act exactly how you acted that day. That’s the only way you can come back to reality.”That’s when it hit me. All of this—this door, this night—it was her doing. Morticia was making me relive my worst memories.I swallowed hard and stepped toward the door. My hand rested on the knob for a second before I finally twisted it open. There they were.Williams and Demian.Williams’ eyes locked on me first. He didn’t smile, didn’t greet me. He just grabbed me by the shoulder and shoved me backward. My back hit the wall, and before I could breathe, he pinned me there.Demian walked

AVA'S POV Ava… Ava… Ava…I heard someone calling my name. The voice echoed in my ears, repeating as my eyelids opened slowly. Everything was blurry. I couldn’t see clearly. The last thing I remembered was that woman’s voice before I passed out. When my eyes finally opened, I jerked off the bed and sat up straight. I was in a very fancy room, completely different from the room where I’d been held captive.I looked around and saw that I was lying on comfortable white bedsheets. The walls of the room were tiled, and expensive furniture filled the space.Where am I? I asked myself as I sat up straight, placing my hands on my forehead, trying to make sense of what happened when I passed out.I remembered being in that warehouse—trapped, pierced like a dog—and suddenly, here I was in this fancy room.Stepping out of the bed, I walked toward the mirror and froze. My hair color was different. I normally had dark, curly hair, but here I was staring at someone I didn’t recognize. I had blonde

AVA'S POV After the god-forsaken woman had told me it wasn't going to hurt, she performed some kind of hypnosis on me using the ornament she brought out from the bag. Before I knew it, everything started becoming blurry, and I passed out. Now, I found myself strapped to a bed rather than the chair, and I was in a completely different room.My head ached like someone had used a mallet and smacked me. My vision was blurry as I opened my eyes. I squinted, trying to regain my sight, and after a while, everything came into view. The first thing I saw was the useless man, Grey, sitting in a chair, legs crossed like he owned the world. When he saw that I had woken up, he rolled his eyes as if I was worthless. He stood up from his chair and walked closer to the woman, who I hadn't noticed was giving me a massage until now."This is not working! Why isn't it working? I heard you were professionals, but look, up till now, you fail to produce what I want!"I turned to the woman, who was about t

**Ava’s POV**“Who are you?” I asked as the figure walked closer towards me.The supposed boss chuckled as he stepped closer, and when his full self came into view, I saw that he was everything I wasn’t expecting — not attractive at all. He had blonde hair, was wearing a white suit, and polished black shoes. After I heard his voice, my mind went back to when I was chasing his useless henchman— I had heard right Russell's voice in the room, mingling with another voice. The man’s voice sounded exactly like the other voice I had heard in that room, and I was certain I was right; I hardly forget a voice.“So, it was you I heard back at Russell’s mansion,” I said. “You were the one in the room.”“How do you know I was at Russell’s house? How do you even know I know Russell? It means you were eavesdropping on our conversation.”“Were you eavesdropping on our conversation?” he asked as he walked close and crouched down to my level.I stared at him and rolled my eyes. “I don’t derive pleasure
