"Whitney, are you serious?" Janet asked in alarm.

"Janet, you are making me angry with your annoying questions. I have told you to stop asking me silly questions. How can I be joking with something like rape?" I asked in exasperation.

"I am sorry. I just find it hard to believe. But how could Luther have done such an evil thing? Where did he rape you and when was that? she asked with shock still in her eyes.

"He raped me over seven weeks at the crop field."

"Oh, my goodness! Wasn't anyone there? I know that there are usually a lot of workers in the crop field. I believe that you must have screamed for help."

"Of course, I screamed for help but no one came to my rescue cos it was at night. All the workers had gone home then," I said as tears filled my eyes.

"Oh, this is so sad. What were you doing in the crop field alone at night?"

"You know I occasionally go to the crop field at night to feel the cool night breeze and to reflect on my life."
