An Evil Gathering

WHITNEY'S POV

Henry and I entered the house and went up the stairs without uttering a word to each other. I entered my room before him and he shut the door behind him.

I walked to my bed and lay down while he sat on the chair facing me.

"Whitney, I am sorry about all that happened. I apologize on behalf of my mom and sister. I should have listened to you when you said you didn't want to go with me to meet my mom. It's my fault. I take the blame for everything," he said sadly looking guilt-ridden.

"Henry, you don't have to blame yourself or feel guilty about it. It has already happened. Perhaps, it was destined to be. If you look at it from another perspective, it wasn't all bad. At least something positive came out of it."

"Are you talking about dad's intervention?"

"Yes. Your dad's intervention quelled the storm cos if he hadn't come, the situation could have been very bad. I don't want to imagine what would have happened."
