38: Dancing Danger

“They are a perfect pair,” I said while holding a champagne glass. Lucius and I were standing near a table full of drinks. The dance for the newlyweds had started.

“You can say that for now. Let’s just hope their so-called love for each other won’t fade along with time.”

“Don’t call it “so-called”, they wouldn’t marry each other if their love isn’t real. You’re so bitter when it comes to love, Master Lucius. Could the reason be your lack of experience on that aspect?”

“Love is not-“

“Real?” I raised an eyebrow. “You haven’t felt it that’s why you don’t believe. It doesn’t mean you can’t see something, it isn’t true. It might be abstract, but there are far truer things than one can see. And I believe one of them is love.”
