Janet's POV

From across the dining hall, Liam poked his head out and scowled heavily at me. "I don't want the stray to watch me!"

"Liam!" Tiana chided lightly. "Janet doesn't have pups of her own, but I'm sure she’s perfectly capable of taking care of you.

"Be a good alpha-pup, sweetheart. Don't make Mommy worry while she's working with Daddy."

Liam stared at me for a long moment, his young, gold eyes flashing with a strange, cunning glint. He said nothing further.

Margaret chimed in, "Yes, Janet. It will be an excellent opportunity for you to finally learn how to care for a high-born heir.

“Besides, we're hosting the Luna Elite charity luncheon here at the estate in a few days. You can assist me in co-hosting the alpha-wives."

The luncheons were a staple of Eastfield’s upper-echelon packs.

A toxic breeding ground for wealthy Lunas to network, flash their jewelry, and assert dominance.

I had always despised them, preferring the raw numbers of the boardroom.

Now, they were actively trying to keep me occupied.

Underfoot. Out of the way of their grand expansion.

I raised a single, dangerous eyebrow.

"Are you entirely sure you don't need my signature or my presence for the investment meetings with Northfield, Michael?"

Hearing the razor-sharp edge in my voice, Michael quickly softened his tone, trying to soothe my aura.

"Janet, Dad is just thinking of what's best for the pack’s future."

"Right. Because what’s best for the pack’s future is sidelining the executive who has been flying between territories closing every major contract.

“And betting the entire Peterson legacy on a former foster omega who worked in basic ordinary entertainment and just rolled back into town."

I didn't bother hiding the dripping sarcasm in my tone.

Tiana smiled, completely unruffled as she adjusted her diamond.

"Janet, we are just born of different blood. I may not be a corporate wolf, but I carry the Anderson lineage and deep connections in Northfield.

“You... well, you grew up as an orphaned stray without a pack name. In this high-stakes arena, you simply cannot compete with true blood."

"Tiana is right," Clark said firmly, his alpha voice booming slightly to end the discussion.

"She will be residing in the main manor from this evening onward." His tone left absolutely no room for negotiation.

"Janet, you will focus your efforts on minding Tiana’s son and assisting with the Luna luncheon."

I looked at them, really looked at the three wolves sitting across from me, and felt a profound sense of liberation.

I didn't argue. I didn't bar Tiana from moving her things into the manor.

Instead, a slow, eerie calm washed over me as I offered a polite smile.

"Fine. Good luck with your summit."

I truly hope they enjoy chasing Drake Richardson, I thought bitterly.

As for me?

The idea of granting a single cent of Robinson Pack wealth to these ungrateful parasites was laughable.

I’d rather throw my family's billions straight into a refinery.

I set down my fork with a soft click and excused myself upstairs.

Michael could clearly sense my sudden, chilling withdrawal.

A few minutes later, the heavy scent of cedarwood preceded him as he pushed open the door to our private quarters.

"Are you still angry, babe?" he murmured, his voice dropping into that gentle, submissive-taming register he always used.

He stepped closer, attempting to wrap his arms around my waist. "We just think you've been pushing your wolf too hard in Northfield.

“Take it easy for a few days, okay? Let us handle the heavy lifting."

I looked up at him, staring straight into those warm, sincere eyes that everyone in Eastfield praised.

The same eyes that had fooled my inner wolf for five years into believing we shared a sacred, cosmic bond.

Now, looking at him, the illusion was completely dead. It just seemed utterly pathetic.

"I'm not angry, Michael." I pulled away from his touch smoothly, my voice entirely flat, stripped of all emotion.

"If your father, an elder of the pack, has that much confidence in you and Tiana, I have absolutely no objections."

"Honey, "

Before he could attempt to manipulate me further, Liam’s high-pitched voice shattered the tension from the grand hallway.

"Daddy! I want this toy drone! Daddy, where are you? I want to fly this one right now!"

The heavy double doors swung open, and Liam bounced into the room, a sleek electronic toy gripped in his small hands.

A sudden, sharp flash of panic cut across Michael’s face, quickly masked as he tried to subtly step away from me.

Tiana appeared gracefully in the doorway behind the pup, her hand resting on his shoulder, her expression carefully molded into a mask of sweet apology.

"Oh, Janet... I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you were in here with Michael."

"Don't worry about it at all, Tiana," I said evenly, crossing my arms as I gave them a cold, parting smile. "I'm clearly the one interrupting your private family time.”

Michael hurried to explain, his scent spiking with a sharp, anxious musk that made my nose twitch.

"Janet, Liam's young and his father's pack duties keep him away. He just got confused."

"Is that right?" I let a shadow flicker across my face, deliberately suppressing my aura so I appeared small, vulnerable.

"For a second there, I wondered if maybe my wolf was barren, and you wanted a pup so badly you let someone else's rogue-born child call you Alpha."

Janet's POVThen he looked up at me, his expression softening. "Tiana's still learning the business side of the pack. She'll need your guidance."Tiana swallowed her fury and forced a tight, submissive smile. "Yeah, Janet. I hope you'll show me the ropes."I smiled faintly, my gaze dropping to the signed document. Michael's signature was bold and clear at the bottom of the page. The corner of my mouth twitched.Show her the ropes? Show those Peterson pigs anything? They had used my business acumen to enrich their pack territory when it suited them, and now they were tossing me aside like a broken omega. Too bad for them, I wasn't their personal doormat anymore. My own true bloodline was waking up.With what I would come for safely secured, I glanced at the two bruised, swelling faces in the room, bit back a laugh, and said, "Well. I have things to do. I'll see myself out."---In the hallway, away from their sight, I looked down at the document in my hand and peeled off the top p

Janet's POV"Michael. How could you? Behind my back? In our own pack territory?"The slaps had stunned them both into silence. For a werewolf, a physical strike from a mate wasn't just painful, it was a direct blow to their pride. Finally, Tiana looked up, her perfectly groomed hair disheveled and her eyes wet. "Janet, it's me. Tiana. You've misunderstood…""Tiana?"I blinked, as if seeing her for the first time. I forced my expression to shift, mimicking confusion, then a dawning, horrifying realization. I stared at Tiana, then at Michael, then back to Tiana."Why were you sitting on Michael's lap?" My voice cracked right on cue. "I thought you were some rogue female. Some stray omega trying to steal my Alpha."Tiana's face was already swelling from the force of my slap, and my words struck a nerve. Guilt flickered behind her tear-filled eyes. Despite the puffiness, she forced a weak smile. "Janet, you've misunderstood. I... I just lost my balance earlier. My inner wolf is sti

Janet's POV Tiana bit her lip so hard that it nearly bled, sliding into the back seat without another word.I shot Michael a mock-reproachful look as I slid into the leather seat. "You're making a big deal over nothing, Michael.""It's different." Michael closed my door for me, leaning in through the window. "Tiana's my sister. She can sit anywhere in the pack. You're Mrs. Peterson, the Luna of Peterson pack."In the back seat, I could hear Tiana’s heart rate skyrocketing, her breathing shallow and tight with rage. But I knew what she was thinking.Soon, I will be stripped of my title. Out of the company. Out of Michael's life. In a month, at most, she’d be the one sitting beside the Alpha.---News of the Luna’s suspension spread through the corporate pack office like wildfire.Back at the department floor, the wolves who had worked closely with me on the corporate side were furious."This is pack politics at its worst, Janet. • Revenge of the Betrayed Luna    Chapter 7 Suspension Paperwork

Janet's POV Every time Michael came back from one of his so-called 'business trips' to visit outer-territory packs, he reeked of Tiana's cloying wolf scent and perfume.I had just been too trusting, too blinded by the mating bond to fully notice it before. Now, my senses were wide awake, and I couldn't unsee it. For four years, I had shared a bed and a den with a man who had been letting another woman scent-mark him.The thought made my stomach turn again.By the time Michael emerged from the steam of the bathroom, I was already under the furs, pretending to be asleep, my breathing perfectly regulated.---The next morning, my phone buzzed with a message from Elder Clark's beta assistant.A reminder for me to complete the suspension paperwork for my position at the Peterson Pack Group.I didn't argue. I just typed a cold, simple acknowledgment. At breakfast, Margaret, Michael’s mother, led Liam to the table, her head held high. "Tiana's at the pack office early today to review terr

Janet's POV Unless what? The next message landed. “Unless you come discuss it in person. On my territory.”I stared at the screen for a moment, then set the phone down without replying. There was time for a new Alpha later. Right now, I had a pack to burn down.---Michael didn't come back to our alpha quarters until the early hours of the morning, his scent masked heavily in Tiana’s lavender perfume.I had actually slept. But my inner wolf had alerted me the moment his paws hit the porch and I arranged myself to look like I'd been waiting up, shivering in the dark. When Michael saw me still awake, guilt washed over his features, his ears practically pinning back."Babe. Why aren't you asleep?"I bit my lip gently, letting my shoulders droop. "Couldn't sleep without my mate. I was waiting for you."The look on my face hit him like a blade to the chest. He cupped my cheek, his thumb brushing my skin. "Today was my fault. If Tiana and Liam are bothering your wolf... I can move them t

  • Revenge of the Betrayed Luna    Chapter 5 My Alpha Mate's Rival

Janet's POV It seemed like Michael felt something shift in his chest, his inner wolf whining at the distress in my voice. His throat tightened as he murmured, "How could you think that? I only want a pup from our bond. Liam's just a little thing. “He'll understand how pack dynamics work when he's older."Watching his blatant, two-faced performance, disgust curled deep in my stomach, but underneath it, a dark satisfaction. My wolf bared her fangs in my mind, tasting his deceit.Let the cheater and the homewrecker squirm. No matter how cozy they got behind closed pack doors, they still had to pretend in front of me, the Luna.Across the room, Tiana was barely holding it together. Her scent soured with jealousy; Michael's words had landed like a physical slap to her face. She'd brought her son back to the Eastfield Pack territory for one reason clearly, to push me out. Permanently. She turned to me, her expression a carefully tailored mask of omega-like submission. "I'm sorry, Luna
