HANNAH

“Hm.” I hummed at the comfort I was experiencing. It was so calm and warm as the morning sun hit my skin, and the sound of nature entered my ears.

I closed my eyes and tilted my head up to let the sunshine warm my face. I inhaled deeply, feasting on my lungs with the cedarwood scent surrounding me. It was so potent, just the way my body and mind loved it.

Wait.

Cedarwood?

But Eliot was nowhere around.

Then I noticed something hard and warm against my body, which I found strange because I was alone and nothing was around me. But it felt so close that I could even hear a heartbeat.

A heartbeat?

Was it mine? Or...

My eyes snapped open at the thought it was someone else’s heartbeat, and before I could think straight, I rose up, only to slam back at a hard and warm thing from my dream. And I was in complete shock when I realized it wasn’t my bed but a naked torso.
