Why did I feel odd about the witch?

Was it because it was new to me, as I had never met one in my life?

I didn't think so. It was deeper than that, and it felt like something pushed me to dig more into this.

I gasped when a touch landed on my arm and instantly turned to the side, only to meet Eliot's gaze. "What?" It was an automatic reaction to ask the reason he called for me.

"You're daydreaming." He pointed out.

"Huh?" I responded like a stupid because I didn't understand what he meant.

"I called you twice, and you didn't even blink." He then gently rubbed my arms. "What are you thinking?"

I only blinked a few times before a realization hit me. I must have been too focused on my thought. "I read a book, and it keeps ringing in my head."

"What book?"

I moved to the nightstand and took out a book from the drawer before handing it to him. "I found this in the library."
