Chapter three

Erica froze for a moment before she found herself slowly turning around to look at the man that stood behind her. He was wearing a fitted vest on his body that fit him well and had a sword swinging on his hip. He had shoulder length blonde hair and piercing blue eyes and what had caught her attention the most was the long scar that ran over his left eye.

He looked towards her with a smirk. “Well what do we have here? A wolf”. He said to her and she watched as he pulled his lips back to reveal his pong fangs. Her eyes widened at the sight. She had never seen a vampire in real life until in that moment.

“How about you answer me this time before I grow impatient and try to drink it out of you.” He offered and she watched as he took a step towards her. She closed her eyes shut as she pressed her body against the door. So much for her becoming a strong woman who wouldn't fold at the sight of pressure.

“I am here to see the council. I need their help. “ she begged to say as she watched him lean in to her and she watched him tense instantly before getting out a sigh form his lips and slowly pulling away from her.

“Well there goes my chances. All you wolves are the same aren't you.” He said to her and she heard him let out a low rumble from under his breath. She didn't have time to react as he grabbed a tight hold of her arm and he pushed her through the door.

“You will see them but you must be civil. Fay doesn't take kindly to those who waste his time. Talaq is another case on his own. He may appear humorous but he was dead on the inside”. He explained to her and she furrowed her eyebrows as she wondered why he was telling her all of this information.

“Why are you telling me all of this”, she asked him shakily and he watched as he shrugged his shoulders at her in response. “All that is interesting because I don't want you to die just yet. k have had a taste of your energy and it is quite intoxicating it would be a shame to allow such good blood go to waste”. He said and she watched her body tremble.

She was thankfully brought out of her thoughts when someone clear their throat before them as they made their way into what appeared to be a lobby. There was a desk in the corner and short woman with the ears of an elf stood before them with her eyebrows raised.

“No need to upset her Jacob. You know you will get into trouble. Now what do you need”. The girl asked. “I need to see the council. It is a matter of urgent.” She said to her and she watched as the woman chuckled.

“All matters here are urgent. None dearer than the other. But you are just in luck they just finished a meeting with the elders of the fae tribe. And it seems this time it was a success and he didn't end up throwing a it. So you can come along with me”. She said to her in a cheery tone.

She hummed in response as she felt Jacob lean in as he looked at her. She felt her nerves loosen as she followed the guard as they soon cams to a stop in front of a set of double doors. She froze as she inhaled deeply and she found herself mentally preparing herself for the meeting.

She arched as she knocked her palm against the door hesitantly before the sound echoed through the room. They took a step back before the doors were pulled open and she gulped at the sight of a large hall with a high table and four figures sat in chairs while the one at the end remained empty.

“What is the meaning of this?” The man with patient ears spoke. “I present to you the leaders of the council. On your left we have Dan the leader of the vampire clan and then we have Shela the witch tribe sorcerer. We also have Sev the leader of the elves and Foy the leader of the fae people. The only one who is absent at the moment is Alexie. He is the leader of the werewolves.” She announced.

“When does he ever come on time to that man." she heard the elf king speak up. She was unnerved by their presence as she could feel the large amount of energy that they emitted from their bodies. It almost drowned her.

“So what brings you here child.” She heard the one on the left speak. The one that they had called Talaq. She had thought that she had held the largest amount of confidence but at that very moment she found the words seizing in her throat.

"speak. We don't have time to waste girl". She heard the lazy call out and for a moment she did herself tempted to bear her teeth and just bark at her. She inhaled deeply as she shook her head knowing it wasn't the time.

“Maybe we should allow Sev to get here. She is of his kind and doesn't go around causing a scene will only end up getting us in trouble. We are supposed to be reasonable people. We bring justice to the lands and the creatures”. She heard one of them say and she couldn't help but roll her eyes at his words as she let out a scuff.

“You call this being reasonable. Where were you when my pack was slaughtered? Where were you when he came in unannounced and he decided to steal me as his mate. Where were you worst of all when he tore open my back.`` She roared ad she felt her last shred of restraint loosen.

They had spoken of giving the species protection and yet all they did was sit on those high seats and whisper nonsense amongst themselves. For her they were nothing more than a joke and she found it almost comical that they would continue to think so highly of themselves.

“I don’t know what you are talking about girl. But whatever grievances you may have you need to level them down. You are in the presence of the highest amongst the world at the least that you can do is to show them some level of respect." she heard one of them say as they sent her a deep glare.

“Ahh, I see. So you don't want to face the reality of the fact. That you are all monsters. Do you not have an ounce of humanity inside of you?” He said to him and she watched as they froze at the thought of it.

She let out a sigh from her lips and she bit down on hers. “We only interfere in matters that will affect the world at large we apologize if something bad has happened to you but you must understand that we are not to be summoned when someone stubs their toe or they feel threatened.” She couldn't believe the negligence that seeped of them.

“If you do have something of great concern you are to take it up with your representative. And for you voices that is Sev and as you can see he is not here”. She heard him say.

“So where is this sev of a man you speak of. If he isn't a coward then he will have more trouble showing his face.” She froze when she heard the sound of the from behind her being slammed shot as the sound echoed through the room. Her entire body froze as he stilled when she inhaled a heavenly scent.

“Who sent for me.” She had a gruff voice cat as her world yipped in the back of her head.

“Mate.”
