Chapter 1

Penulis: Hunk Alert
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today…"

The host's clear, steady voice echoed through the grand ballroom, blending with the soft melodic music. Crystal chandeliers shimmered overhead, casting warm light across rows of elegantly dressed guests.

Clusters of people stood around, whispering among themselves, their eyes full of admiration as they looked toward the stage.

Everyone knew how deeply Wyatt Sterling loved me, Anna Larson.

Even though he claimed he could not show his face due to a sudden allergic reaction, he still insisted on going through with the ceremony. He wore a mask just to make sure that this important day would not be ruined.

After all, I was the only daughter of one of the wealthiest families in the South.

"If anyone has any objections, speak now, or—"

"Wait." My voice cut cleanly through the room.

The man standing across from me stiffened.

Even with the mask covering his face, I could feel his panic. His gaze flickered, and a thin sheen of sweat formed at his temples.

Through my veil, I watched his hands tremble slightly.

I could not help but smile.

"Wyatt… your hands are shaking. Is your old problem acting up again?"

He cleared his throat. His voice sounded weak. "Y-Yeah… I just need a moment. I'm not feeling great."

Ignoring the confused looks from the guests, I turned to the host.

"Give us a minute."

Then I reached out, took the groom's hand, and led him off the stage toward a private lounge at the back of the hall.

The moment we stepped inside, my assistant Ruby hurried over and handed me a letter.

"This just arrived," she said quietly. "It's from Mr. Sterling's cousin. Ms. Jones."

I opened it.

[Anna, you already know the groom is fake, right? Surprise. Wyatt and I are on a yacht across the river right now, watching your wedding.]

Attached to the letter was a pendant I had once given Wyatt.

It had been snapped cleanly in half.

Ruby's face flushed with anger.

"That woman said this wedding is just a joke. Mr. Sterling only did all this to amuse her."

I let out an icy laugh.

Taking a pen, I wrote a single line on the paper and handed it back.

"Send this to her."

[Is that so? Do you believe that with just one word from me, he'll come crawling back like a slave?]

Only then did I turn to the man beside me.

He had been silent the whole time, clearly uneasy. "I… I…"

I reached out and gently patted his shoulder. "Joseph. Relax."

He froze for a second, then exhaled like a weight had finally been lifted off him.

"So… you already knew."

After a brief period of silence, he seemed to make up his mind. "Ms. Larson… Wyatt isn't worth marrying. What he did today, humiliating you like this… he's not someone you can entrust your life to."

I stepped closer, close enough to see his eyes behind the mask.

"I didn't stop the wedding to expose you," I said softly. "I just need you to help me finish this performance."

The truth of my previous life was something I only learned after I died.

Joseph Smith had loved me for many years.

After what happened to me, he was the only one who refused to believe it was an accident.

Later, he discovered that the real culprit was Wyatt.

However, without proof, he had no way to bring him down.

In the end, on the anniversary of my death, he chose to take Wyatt down with him.

The memories surged back, tightening in my chest. Before I knew it, tears slid down my face.

He panicked. He lifted his hand, wanting to wipe my tears, but froze midway, unsure if he should touch me.

"If you feel wronged, I can—"

I looked straight at him, my voice calm and firm. "Joseph, listen carefully. The person I want to marry… is you."

When we returned to the wedding hall, the host picked up smoothly, still wearing a polite smile.

"If there are no objections, then let us continue—"

The moment we took our places again, something unexpected happened.

The groom's custom-tailored suit suddenly split along the seams. He instinctively tried to cover it, his expression awkward.

I reached out and stopped him.

Whispers rippled through the crowd.

"Wait… wasn't that suit made specifically for Wyatt?"

"How could something like this happen at a wedding?"

"Is this a ceremony or a joke?"

In the front row, Wyatt's parents turned pale. They exchanged a glance, panic written all over their faces.

So they had known all along, but still chose to go along with it.

On the other side, my mother frowned deeply, looking at me with concern.

I gave her a small nod, reassuring her.

Then, as countless confused and shocked gazes looked on, I raised my hand.

I removed the groom's mask.

A handsome but unfamiliar face appeared before everyone’s eyes.

The entire hall fell silent for a split second, and then chaos erupted.

"Oh my God! That's not Wyatt!"

"Who is that?"

"Where's the real groom?!"

Half a year later, he saw me again on the street.Joseph and I had just walked out of a shop. He was carrying several bags filled with baby clothes, carefully shielding me from the crowd like I might break if someone brushed past me.My belly was already showing, and my face held an easy, genuine smile. That sight hit Wyatt like a blade straight through the heart. He rushed toward us and blocked our path. His clothes were ragged, his eyes bloodshot, and his whole body was trembling like he had lost his mind."Anna…"His gaze locked onto my stomach, his voice shaking. "You… you're pregnant?"Instinctively, I covered my belly.Joseph immediately stepped in front of me, his expression icy."Where did this lunatic beggar come from? Get lost.""Why…" Wyatt ignored him completely. He stared at me, his eyes full of resentment and unwillingness."Why do you get to be this happy? You destroyed everything I had. You destroyed the Sterling family. What gives you the right to live like

One month later, on a stormy night, Wyatt showed up drunk outside the Larson estate, pounding on the gates like a madman."Anna! Open the door! Get out here!"You vicious woman! How can you be so heartless?! Have you forgotten everything we had all these years?"My father is dying! My family is falling apart! Do you really want to see me destroyed?"I stood by the attic window on the second floor, looking down at him as he made a scene in the rain.Joseph walked over and gently wrapped his arms around me from behind, pressing my head against his chest, as if shielding me from the sight below."Don't look," he said softly. "It'll just dirty your eyes. I can have the guards take care of him."I shook my head. "There’s no need."I pushed the window open and looked down at the man who once stood so high above everyone but was now reduced to this pathetic state."Wyatt, so now you know you were wrong?"Hearing my voice, he jerked his head up. Rain and mud streaked across his face.

The applause came in scattered bursts. Most people were not clapping out of joy. They were just enjoying the spectacle.I stood below the stage, calmly watching the chaos unfold.Joseph tightened his grip on my hand and asked quietly, "Do you want me to take you away?"I shook my head. A faint, amused smile forming on my lips. "No. The real show is just getting started. Why would I leave now?"I stepped forward slowly. In an instant, every eye in the room turned to me.Wyatt looked at me nervously, as if afraid I might say something even more shocking.I gave the guests a polite smile."First off, congratulations to Mr. Sterling and Ms. Jones on their marriage. I wish you both a happy wedding."I paused, then took out the official marriage certificate from my bag and held it high for everyone to see."Second, I would like to clarify something. Half a month ago, I already registered my marriage with my husband, Joseph."I am here today only as a guest to offer my congratulati

Wyatt was completely stunned. As he watched Becky walk toward him, all color drained from his face."Becky? Why are you dressed like this? What are you doing here?" he asked in a low, panicked voice.Becky stopped in front of him and slipped her arm through his, leaning close with a sweet smile."Wyatt, today is our wedding."She rose on her toes and whispered in his ear, "Did you forget our plan? As long as we get married today, I can help you properly."My uncle is one of the biggest financial powers in the capital. If he steps in, won't the Sterling family's crisis be solved? Why are you still begging that woman?"Wyatt's whole body stiffened.Only then did he remember. A few days ago, Becky had mentioned her wealthy distant uncle. She had said that if he gave her a proper title and married her, she could convince her uncle to invest and save the Sterling family. At the time, he had been focused on winning me back and had not taken her words seriously. Now, it seemed like

Wyatt made this wedding even grander than the last.Almost every major figure in the capital's high society received an invitation. He even spent a fortune to bring in several distinguished guests from the Upper Chamber and royal circles just to elevate the occasion. The entire city buzzed with news of the event. Newspapers and social gatherings were filled with the same headline:The Sterling heir remained devoted. To make up for past regrets, he hosted a grand wedding once again for the Larson family's daughter. My parents were so furious they nearly marched straight to the Sterling estate to confront them, but I stopped them."Father, Mother, don't be angry. Just watch the show."After today, the Sterling family will become the laughingstock of the entire capital."I reassured them. After all, I already had a complete plan in mind.On the day of the wedding, I chose a well-tailored outfit. It was formal, but there was a sharp edge to it, something almost cold beneath the ele

The moment Wyatt got a clear look at who it was, his expression changed instantly. His eyes filled with contempt."Anna, do you really think I'm an idiot?" He pointed at Joseph and burst out laughing. "Isn't this the broke nobody I hired off the street on our wedding day?"What? Wasn't that performance enough? Now you've dragged him here to keep playing house with you?"Becky covered her mouth, pretending to be shocked, though her eyes were full of scorn."Anna, how could you do something like this? Wyatt is already overwhelmed dealing with family matters. Not only are you not helping, you even brought someone like this to act things out and provoke him. That's just… improper. Completely unbefitting of a lady."She turned to Wyatt, gently patting his chest as if soothing him. "Wyatt, don't be mad. Anna just loves you too much. That's why she's using such childish ways to get your attention."Hearing Becky's words, Wyatt's expression softened. That familiar look of superiority cre
