Chapter 11

I awoke early the next morning with a slight pang in my heart from having been rejected by my sweetheart. I dressed normally and was still unsure how I would approach my father, knowing full well that he expected me to murder Aiden, my soulmate.

I don't believe I'd have it in me to murder him today, regardless of the circumstances, because if he died, I'd be left with an empty shell.

Why did life have to be so complex, and now I'm kicking myself for not murdering him sooner when I realized he was my soulmate.

I think I took my time murdering him because I was enjoying my regular human adolescent life, free of royal obligations or werewolf slaying, and look where that got me. I didn't care about Wendy's remarks today since I was preoccupied with my own difficulties.

I dropped her off at her school and then drove her to mine.
