Babies

Rina slowly opened her eyes and discovered she was in another place, “Where am I? Arghh,” She muttered and sat up.

Then the woman that helped her came in, “Oh you’re awake? I’m happy,” The woman said with a smile and gave her a cup of water.

“Thank you,”She replied and collected it with shaky hands. “Thanks for bringing me here, I would have died in the cold weather if not for you, thanks,” She muttered after gulping down the water.

“What really happened?” The woman asked when she saw Rina has relaxed a bit.

“I’m pregnant that was why Mom chased me out, She’s not my mom anyways, it’s just so-“ Tears came out while the woman pat her gently on her back.

The woman sigh deeply as she stare at Rina who was still crying pitifully, “How could someone that calls herself your mother do this to you especially when she knew you’re pregnant?! Cruel world!”

“Don’t cry,” She told her “Let me get you food, you must be hungry, you eat for the baby,” The woman said and went to ahead to bring her fish soup

“Here, eat to have stamina.”

Few minutes after she finished the fish, she came out to sit with the woman outside. “Hey, you’re done eating?” The old woman asked and Rina nod.

“Yes,”She replied softly and took a seat.

“I will be going back to my home town soon, “ The woman said and Rina raised her eyebrows.

“Is this not your house?” She asked.

“Yes, I only stay here when am on deliveries,” She utter and took her hand giving it a soft massage. “you should plead with your mom so you can go back home, You need to take care of yourself and the baby,” The woman suggested

Rina shook her head, “I don’t want to go back, it’s going to be hell,” she begin to cry “take me with you.”

The woman widened her eyes, “Are you sure? My hometown is a rural area and I sell fish! You can imagine how my house would look like,” The old woman said but Rina doesn’t mind.

“I don’t mind, I just want to get out of this wicked city,” Rina said in frustration. The old woman understood her well so she nod slowly.

“You can come with me,” The old woman finally came to conclusion and that made Adrianna smiled out.

She didn’t know when she pull the old woman into a warm hug. “Thank you! Thanks grandma,”

The old woman smiled, “Grandma? Tsk, you can just call me Hilda.”

“Adrianna.”

The both of them smiled.

(Adam City, At a marketplace)

(10months later)

“Buy fresh fishes! 50bucks each!” Rina could be seen advertising her fish business, her baby bump visibly shown and big, anytime soon, she will be delivering her baby.

“Rina? you shouldn’t stress yourself huh? Don’t stress the baby,” Hilda advice but Rina shook her head with a smile.

“I feel great selling fish, I bet my babies also have the same feelings,” She muttered and then look down to her big stomach, “-right babies?” She asked and Hilda laughed.

“Babies? What made you think it’s gonna be babies?” Hilda asked.

“It’s going to be twin I bet, my love for twin is out of this world,” Rina giggles as she rub her big tummy.

“I can’t wait to meet them whether it’s a baby or babies,” Hilda added then looked down to Rina’s leg.

“Is that not water coming out between your legs?”Hilda snapped rushing over to her. “—your water broke!”

“Oh my! It’s time?”

“I guess so, Let’s get you to the town hospital!” Hilda said and quickly went to get them a tricycle

Soon she found one. “Let’s go,”Hilda said getting in alongside with Adrianna who is now in labor. The driver started the tricycle engine and zoomed off to the town hospital.

2hours Gone

Hilda has been going back and forth at the front of the operating room, “I hope she’s okay, gracious God,” She prayed and kept glancing at the door hoping it’d open anytime.

Then, a stretcher was pulled out from the delivery room and that made Hilda smiled out tear and rushed over, “Rina?” she called patting her hair gently though Rina had fell unconscious.

Then she look around, “Please what about the baby? She quickly asked but almost immediately a nurse came out with three babies in a cut.

“Here they are, Babies precisely,” The nurse replied and Hilda couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at the little baby in the cut, having the same hair and eyes.

“Babies? Oh my! Two boys and a girl??”
