**Stella's POV**

Hours later, we are back in Victor's office which feels lighter somehow, due to the relief flooding through my system.

"To Stella," Victor raises a crystal glass filled with golden champagne, his eyes bright with pride. "Who proved today that she's stronger than anyone who ever tried to break her."

"To Stella!" the others echo, and the sound of clinking glasses fills the room.

I take a small sip, the bubbles tickling my nose. The champagne is expensive—probably older than I am—but I barely taste it. All I can think about is Noah.

My baby boy.

In twenty-four hours, I'll hold him again. I'll smell his sweet pup scent, feel his chubby arms around my neck, hear his little voice call me "Mama."

"I still can't believe it," I whisper, setting down my glass with shaking hands. "I actually... I won. Partially, but I won."

"You did more than win," Diane says, her usual professional mask softened by a rare smile. "You stood up to an abusive Alpha in front of the

  • Rise Of The Betrayed Omega    Chapter 51. 2:34 AM.

** Stella's POV**I don't know what wakes me. One moment I'm deep in dreamless sleep, the next my eyes snap open in the darkness. The clock reads 2:34 AM. I lay perfectly still, listening. There's a sound. Footsteps in the hallway. I sit up slowly, straining to hear. The footsteps are measured. Deliberate. Coming closer. "Hello?" My voice comes out barely above a whisper. "Is someone there?" The footsteps stop. My heart hammers so loud I can hear it in my ears. "Thompson is that you out there?" I call out, louder now. Still nothing. Then the footsteps resume. Closer now. Definitely coming toward the bedroom. Terror floods my system. I throw off the covers and look around frantically for something—anything—I can use as a weapon. The lamp. I grab it from the nightstand, yanking the cord from the wall. It's heavy, solid brass. It'll have to do. The footsteps are right outside the bedroom door now. I raise the lamp above my head, my whole body shaking.

  • Rise Of The Betrayed Omega    Chapter 50. A Place to Breathe.

**Stella's POV** The penthouse is silent after Shawn leaves. I stand in the middle of the living room, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the glittering city below, and for the first time in what feels like forever, I let myself just breathe. This is mine. A smile spreads across my face, so wide it almost hurts. Tomorrow. Tomorrow I get my pup back. I move through the space slowly, taking it all in. The living room is spacious and modern, with plush furniture. Abstract art hangs on the walls—the kind that probably costs millions. The kitchen is a dream—marble countertops, stainless steel appliances that look like they've never been used, a wine fridge stocked with bottles I can't even pronounce. I open the main refrigerator and gasp. It's fully stocked. Fresh fruits and vegetables, organic milk, premium cheeses, deli meats, everything I could possibly need. The pantry is the same—shelves lined with pasta, sauces, cereals, snacks. Even pup food. When d

  • Rise Of The Betrayed Omega    Chapter 49. Why are you really here.

**Shawn's POV** I scramble for composure, and for any explanation that isn't ' I can't walk away especially with Stella's heatwave, because the thought of leaving her alone with another male tonight makes me want to put my fist through a wall.' "I should take her," I say, forcing my voice into something calmer and professional. "Security assessment. I need to evaluate the building, the guard protocols, identify any potential vulnerabilities." Victor studies me, his gaze sharp and assessing. "The building has excellent security. I vetted it myself." "With respect, sir, standard building security isn't designed to stop a determined Alpha." I keep my tone even, factual. "Cole Grant just lost custody of his son to his ex-mate. He's unpredictable. Dangerous. I have a feeling he has a tracker on Stella already." Victor's eyes narrow slightly, and for a terrible moment I think he sees right through me. Sees the real reason I'm volunteering, the possessive need I'm barely keeping co

  • Rise Of The Betrayed Omega    Chapter 48. No regrets.

**Shawn's POV** I don't regret fucking Stella for the second time. I regret forgetting who her father is. The thought pounds through my head as I step back into Victor's office, closing the bathroom door behind me. Stella's still in there, probably trying to compose herself, and trying to erase the evidence of what we just did again.... I move back to my position by the windows, picking up the champagne glass I abandoned earlier. My hand is steady as I bring it to my lips, but inside I'm anything but calm. Stella's intoxicating scent still clings to my clothes, and skin... I curse myself inwardly because I shouldn't have allowed her heatwave scent take over all my sense, I ended up following her to the bathroom for a quick fuck... which turned out to be great for both of us...'We are screwed when victor finds out what we have been doing to his only daughter,' My wolf cautions but I push him back. He wanted this too, so why should I be screwed alone? I turn my attention to t

**Stella's POV** "Stella, are you okay in there?" Shawn's voice comes from just outside the door. "I'm fine," I force out, but my voice is shaking. "Just give me a minute." Silence follows and then the door handle turns. He steps inside uninvited and locks the door behind him with a decisive click. I can't believe my father trusts this man with everything. And here he is, locking us in together while my body burns. "What are you doing here?" I stutter nervously. He doesn't respond immediately. His eyes just turn dark as they take in my flushed skin, and my trembling hands gripping the sink, the obvious distress I can't hide. "Your scent called me here," he says flatly. Horror floods through me. Of course it did. My body is betraying me in every possible way again. "Oh goddess—" I stare at him, my chest heaving. "I'm trying to handle it. The water isn't—it's not working—" "No shit it's not working." He takes a step closer, and I see the tension in his jaw. He's figh
