Sabrina's smile falters. "You know what I mean. You were married to him for six years."

The pieces click together.

Cole's moods. The way his anger would shift without warning from cold silence to explosive violence. The impossible standards, the constant criticism, the way nothing was ever good enough.

"He's doing what he did to me to you too," I snort in both shock and amusement.
