~Dominic~

The ringtone of my phone yanks me from the depths of a financial report. I glance at the caller ID: "Mom."

A flicker of unease prickles me. My mother rarely calls during work hours unless it’s important.

“Dominic,” my mother’s voice sounds impatient as soon as I pick up the call. “I’ve run out of my medicine.”

I pause. “Then ask them to refill it at the clinic.”

There’s a brief silence before she speaks again, “I’ve been trying to reach the Omega all morning. She blocked my calls. I can't reach her.”

I still, then, frown. “…Why would refilling your medication have anything to do with Jess?” I ask, genuinely confused.

There have been a few times when my mother's health deteriorated, and Jess decided to visit her at home after she was discharged.

She’d visited my mother all the time to care for her. She even once started visiting to help massage my mother's foot when my mother also sprained her ankle.

She kept visiting until my mother's ankle healed.

  • Rise Of The Hidden Heiress   29. I need to find Jess!

I turn back to Nox, who is eyeing me like he understands my dilemma, and he shrugs.A suffocating feeling starts to crowd me.I have been thinking of calling Jess and convincing her to see me so that we can discuss my health and that of my mother. But getting blocked everywhere by her is going to make that completely impossible. At the thought of my health, my stomach twists violently, pain flaring sharp enough to make me bend slightly at the waist.I press a hand to my abdomen, breathing through the pain.I have to find a way to get to Jess. I seriously need her. I have to either have her be my side piece and continue like nothing is different, or get her to give the housekeeper a rundown of my meds, meal plan, and recipes.Same as my mother's health. And it's either she accepts the options willingly, or I force them on her. With my current stomach flares, I’m in too much pain to give a fuck about how she would feel about my decision.Everyone is staring at me, silently hoping for an

~Dominic~I’m halfway through a drink when Nox leans in, lowering his voice like he’s about to share a secret he doesn’t want the others to hear.“Alpha,” he whispers, “I think your little Omega is cheating on you with some high-end dude.”He means Jess is cheating on me?She's seeing someone else in this pack? That’s not even possible?“What do you mean?” I ask.Our Mate bond is indeed broken, and Jess has moved out of the Manor, but I haven’t told her that it's over between us. I never said our relationship has ended.I never did.So, if she's truly seeing another man, then she's indeed cheating on me.“I ran into her earlier today,” Nox tells me.I grab my glass of bourbon and empty its contents in a gulp. Twisting the empty glass between my fingers, I tell him, “Spill.”Nox studies my face, then grins in that upsetting way he usually does. “She was with another man, a fancy-looking man. And if my eyes served me well, he was wearing a very expensive Rolex. Top grade stuff. Not kids

~Allister~“Turn a little to the left.” Jess pauses, then does exactly as I say.I adjust my phone to get a better angle of her as she poses for pictures that she plans to send to her father, since she's been away from him for years and isn’t going back home yet until she's done at the hospital.“What in the Moon goddess name is that pose? You look like a ‘catfish’,” I joke and earn a spank on the arm from Jess. She tilts her head back, laughing uncontrollably.Click.I tap on the camera, capturing her beautiful smile.“If you keep at this, we'll end up not getting any pictures at all,” she tells me.“Oh, but we’ve got tons of them already,” I reply with a wink. Her cheeks blossom with a beautiful smile while I step closer, angling for another shot.Another click of the camera button before her phone starts to ring.I look at the caller ID. It’s a guy, ‘Phil’.“Who's calling?” Jess asks, still posing for more shots.“Phil,” I reply, stretching my hand to give her the phone.“Oh, just

~Rhea~The first time I heard about Jessica White was about a year ago, after several failed attempts at capturing Allister’s attention.I had wondered what she had that made Allister care about her so much. What does she have that I don’t?When I saw her picture from one of her social media accounts, I was left dumbfounded because there wasn’t anything special about her.If Allister would take his time to look, he would know that I’m way prettier than the girl. She's just a plain, boring doctor living in a middle-class Pack, mated to some ugly Alpha, who doesn't for the love of the Moon goddess know how to help my predicament by keeping his stupid mate hooked to him for life, so that she can stay off my man.Such a lost cause. The news of the Westwood Alpha breaking up with Jess has done nothing but cause me sleepless nights, hence why I came up with a solution that might help me get rid of the Jess girl permanently, while remaining my classy self.I have to thorough this time around

  • Rise Of The Hidden Heiress   24. Lycan Pack Hospital

~Jess~Waking up the next morning, dawn was already creeping through the curtains. My thoughts stumble and then align with a sour, waking truth as I spot the torn pieces of my dress lying in ragged fragments on the floor. My heart stutters, and heat rushes to my face.I slept with Allister. The realization hits harder than the hangover-like fog in my head. I squeeze my eyes shut, memories surfacing in fragments: Allister’s arms around me, his voice low, the way he kept asking if I was sure, if I wanted this…I was sure. I wanted it.Still, embarrassment crawls up my spine. The memory lands with a rush of heat and a sting of shame, and I instinctively draw the thick blanket on the bed up toward my chin, as if shielding myself more can erase what happened.A low humming sound and running water come from the bathroom: He is taking a shower.Panic kicks in. I scramble out of bed, grabbing the blanket and wrapping it around myself like a 360 shield.I tiptoe toward the door, every instinct
