LOGINHi, I would like to thank you for staying with me. The last couple of months have been terrible for me. Lost my best friend after three failed surgeries, and since then, I've been in a very dark bubble and haven't been able to get myself to write. It took encouragement from my editor to embark on this current project (this book). Still, I've been inconsistent as I was battling with grief. However, I'm back now, and I promise to write and complete this book as quickly as possible. Again, thank you so much.
“Look,” I say calmly, “Aldine told me last night. Aggs said you gave her a few weeks off, and she wanted to make extra cash while away from work. I only found out the real story from you moments ago.” “Agnes told you that, and you didn't think to tell me?”“She told Aldine, not me.”“Aldine, you-what's the difference?” He asks in a raised voice. “The truth is you knew something and held it back from me.”Pissed as fuck, he leans forward. “You do know that if she decides to speak to Thomas Maclewin about my entanglement with Tania and the things I said to her, it will affect Smith and Agary, right?”“Jules, calm down.” I begin to say. “Agnes isn't like that. She-”“What are you even saying?” he interrupts me. “Thomas Maclewin called her his woman right in front of me. They're probably dating, or about to. If she tells him, it won't be funny.”“Did you know Thomas liked her before you went ahead to open up on your personal matter?” I ask him.“Does it really matter?”“It absolutely mat
~Pius Agary~I stare at my brother across the living room, trying very hard to understand what exactly is going on inside his head.“So, let me get this straight,” I say, taking a sip of my tea. “You told Aggs to leave the company, and she did just that. But now, you're feeling sad because you didn't want her to leave. You’re saying you were only joking?”Julian groans. “Yes and no.”I frown and raise a brow. “Make me understand then.”“I didn't tell her to leave the company intentionally. She made me say it. I only threatened to walk her out of my office, but that was because she called me a liar.”“Which you are, right?”The cold glare he shoots me nearly makes me laugh.I raise both hands in surrender.“I mean, you lied, didn't you?”“Pius, are you going to help me or not?”“How exactly am I supposed to help you?” I ask. “I wasn't the one who threatened her, nor was I the one who led an innocent she-wolf on to get a contract. So why do you want me to help you? I don't even stand to
~Allister~“I’ve broken up with Jess,” I announced to my immediate family, which includes my mom, Grandma Regi, and my uncle.Everybody looks visibly sad about the news, everybody but my Grandmother. “This is really bad,” my uncle sighs. “I wonder how she’s coping. The breakup must have really broken her heart. Did you have to do it, Alpha Allister?”I nod, “It would have been sad to insist on being with her while her entire family is against it. Also, their concern is… understandable. She’s been exposed to danger, and it’s all because of me.”“You see why I was preaching against that she-wolf?” Grandma Regi begins to speak. “I told you she's not Luna material. She’s not the one for you, but you kept insisting on sticking to her like glue.” Grandma Regi says.“Neither she nor her family understands what an honor it is to have you ask her to be your Luna. So, if both of you had mated and there's a little challenge in the Pack, will Hamit-Beta Callahan rush in and ask you to dissolve t
~Jefferson Hoard~It’s been a crazy couple of days for me.Everything seems to be a mess. All of my plans, none of them seem to be falling in place. It's either that the time isn't right or my men haven't laid eyes on the Hamit-Beta’s daughter. It's even worse because breaking into Silver Valley borders has become increasingly tough. So tough that I’m considering damning the consequences and risk to go through a route that many people consider suicide.I’m so impatient right now that I don’t think I can wait for the green light from my counterpart.Staring at Dorien, who looks completely speechless about the way things are unfolding around us, I sigh and grit my teeth.“Are you saying all this while Jessica White has been kidnapped, and you couldn’t get the news on time? You allowed me to waste limited resources searching for her when I would have used that for something better.” I fume at Dorien.“Honestly, Jeff, I’m just getting the news.”Ha!Aside from myself, who else in this wor
~Jess~I finally leave my room sometime in the afternoon because Emelda practically refused to let me rot away in bed.“Miss White, you have to eat something,” she says for what feels like the hundredth time today. “Even if it’s small.”I’m too exhausted as I walk into the dining area and sit down slowly while Emelda places the food in front of me.Earlier this morning, after hours of staring at the ceiling and crying into my pillow, I’d texted Agnes and Ursula that I needed them.Because, truthfully, I really needed them.“You should try the soup first,” Emelda says gently. “I made it the way you like.”I nod weakly. The aroma fills the room, but my appetite is nonexistent.Still, I force myself to eat a little rice, a spoonful of soup, and a few bites of the grilled chicken.“Thank you so much for the food, Emelda,” I tell her, standing up.Her face falls immediately. But she nods.I push the plate away gently and stand up. “I’ll just sit in the living room for a while.”“Okay, ma’a
“Are you ready, Mr. Agary?” she asks casually upon setting eyes on me.“Yes,” I manage to let out.…After the meeting, I return to find Agnes on the phone, speaking almost inaudibly.“Yes, ma’am, I’ll have to let you go now. I have to get back to work, and I’ll give you feedback as soon as possible,” she says softly. After a brief pause, she chuckles lightly and doesn’t say anything else for a prolonged moment.Neither Mr. Myles, the general manager standing beside me, nor I dared to interrupt her.“Thank you so much, ma.” She giggles excitedly. My stomach tightens as I watch her face light up in a beautiful smile. When she turns around in her chair, her eyes widen at the sight of us standing right behind her, and she immediately begins gathering the paperwork on her desk. She glares at me before turning a softer glance toward Myles.“How did the meeting go, sir?” she asks him sweetly, as though I’m not in the room.I roll my eyes at her childish behavior.“Well, Miss Shema,” the mana
Philip’s eyes widen questionably at me, and just to be clear, I nod and reply, “Yes, Allister is my Fiancé. Now we have to go. I’ll see you around, Phil.”“Sure,” he lets out, looking like gallons of energy have been sucked out of him.
The street light turns green, but Allister doesn’t move the car right away.“You don’t have to lean on me every time,” he says gently. “Just… don’t lock me out of your life.”His thumb brushes over my knuckles, slowly.“You have me. You’ve always had me.” He hums reassuringly. His words are simple
“Officer,” Allister cuts in. “Miss White is my client. And if you want this issue thrashed out in court, then it’s fine. You already know we go all out for anyone under my law firm.”The police officer starts to stutter, making incoherent sentences.“Officer Dean, is it?” I ask, calling out the nam
A beautiful sunny day at “Sugar Treats” with my best girls has me smiling nonstop.“Well, at least now they know not to mess with us, else I ruin their skull with a bottle of expensive wine,” Agnes’s voice towers above Ursula’s.“Oh, please, you were literally shaking like baby fish,” Ursula jabs a
