Chapter 48- All Bow to Your King

Kenji’s POV

“I can’t pick up their scents. Too many people and creatures have been through here in the past twenty-four hours.” I run my fingers through my hair in frustration. We’ve been outside the Casino for the past half hour trying to pick up their scent. The only thing we have to go on is that they headed west towards the desert.

“I still can’t get anything from my mind link with Ruth either.” Levi kicks a trash can, sending it skidding down the alley. “She could be knocked out for days after teleporting her and Andrew out of there.”

Jamari gasps, placing her right hand over her mouth. “They won’t survive out there for days.” She says softly. Levi walks over and wraps his arms around her shoulders, pulling her in for a comforting hug.

I watch as she pulls back and stares up at him, hurt covering her face. “Why did you say those things back in the casino?” She asks him, barely above a whisper. He looks down at her confused.
