When Waiting on the Test

I was taken to the healer at Alpha Dingo’s insistence, where I was taking the pregnancy test. The Alpha himself and Duncan also joined me to see the results of the test. On one hand, I had doubts that a baby would already be forming that quickly in me, as it was just last night when Duncan and I did the deed. On the other hand, considering the number of times he released in me, it may be possible that the baby really is already being made within me. A baby I was not ready to take care of.

“This is ridiculous,” Duncan spoke. “I really don’t see why I have to be here. When we both know for sure she’s not having a baby. Much less my own. Besides, even if she did get pregnant, she was the one who wanted it to happen.”

Dingo glanced at him with narrowed eyes, his face filled with much disappointment. “If you continue that biased thought process, you will never make it far as an Alpha.”

Whether he didn’t believe in his father or knew his wise words held much truth but didn’t want to acknowl

A sigh escaped my lips when I recalled every bit of that day. After results showed that I was, indeed, pregnant with Duncan's baby, Dingo was quite quick to have a marriage set up between us, and help me learn what it means to be a respectable Luna. With word spreading about how Duncan was cursed to not have a child, pretty much everyone supported the marriage. Saw it as a miracle how I was holding his baby. All except for Duncan. Who believed that I managed to lie to his father or changed the results somehow to make it seem like I was pregnant with his baby. Of course, under Dingo's wishes, I didn't tell him the truth, and instead did everything I could to learn how to be a worthy Luna and change Duncan's ways somehow.'And yet, look at what's become of me now,' I thought. ’Not only did I fail to keep my promise to set Duncan straight- with Alpha Dingo’s assistance, no less- but I got framed for a crime I didn’t commit. Worse off, I don’t even know if Dingo believes that I wasn’t res

I arrived back down in the living room, as requested. Upon arrival, I found Dingo sitting on the sofa still. His head rested on his knuckles, and I could sense that he seemed upset about something. Sitting on the other sofa across from him was Duncan, who leaned back in his seat and had his legs crossed. Almost as though he didn’t have a care in the world, as per usual when it came to his father.Dingo took notice of me at the door and lifted his head. “Susan. Come here,” Dingo spoke.I didn’t like the tone he used when calling out to me, though. A tone he normally used when he was tired of something, that spoke trouble in more ways than one. And something told me…That tone was for me.I approached him at his request, stood by the sofa. As he gestured me to sit, I sent a nervous glance at Duncan, and sat on the edge, as far from him as possible.“Duncan told me some very interesting things, Susan. Said that on top of committing attempted murder to Ashley, you had a child with another

"How disappointing..."How I felt my world stop when those words came out of his mouth. ‘Disappointing’? In who? For what? If it was how I failed to have Duncan change his immature, hardheaded ways, that was fine. If it was anything else- namely the incident four years ago… But that couldn’t be it, could it?“For you- whom I personally accepted and selected to be my son’s mate, his Luna supporting him- to do something as foolish as to poison one of your own people? Even if I personally didn’t like the affected werewolf so much, by no means did that make it okay for you to do that sort of deed,” Dingo spoke, raising my surprise. “Wait… You actually believe that I did that?!” I gasped out.“Hah! I knew you finally see things my way,” Duncan, on the other hand, cheered happily. I may have been in shock to say anything the first time I was accused of this misdeed, but to be accused by the one person who had been on my side, supporting me throughout my married life? There was no way I wa

I returned to my room after the chat with Dingo. If one could call it that, that is. And I don’t just mean because of Duncan’s constant remarks. While I had a feeling he no longer had a good view of me, never did I think he believed in the rumors. Believed that I would be so cruel and heartless as to attempt to kill Ashley. I even tried to explain myself to him that I had nothing to do with the situation, but alas, in the end, even he actually thought I was capable of such deed.‘I should’ve known that this would happen,’ I thought, lying on the bed. ‘He never visited me for a reason. And it’s nothing that has to do with Alpha work. Pularis did say that many of Duncan’s Alpha work has been neglected as well.’ If Dingo did do any of his son’s work for him, at the very least, the Bluemoon Pack would still have their allies. For that to happen, amongst everything else, there was no way Dingo had lent a hand during the four years I was away. And now that he has made it clear of his thoug

I paled more at this revelation. “You… what?” I breathed out, unable to process the words. “You swapped my child with Ashley’s?! How?! She wasn’t even in the pack at the time!”“Not to public knowledge,” Duncan answered. “Me and Ashley? We reunited just before meeting you. And when it was found out that you were pregnant with my child, Ashley was devastated. I had told her that I had no intention of truly loving you, as Father intended it, and made up for letting my guard down that night. For letting some loose dog get the jump on me. You have no idea how happy I was to learn that she had gotten pregnant after that. And then it hit me. I have children between two different women. One who is nothing more than a bitch, and the other the love of my life. Father wants me to marry the one who has his grandchild. Yet, no matter what I say or do, he will never agree to my marriage with Ashley. So how about the next best thing? Drop your child, and keep Ashley’s. Have Father Dearest bond with

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Aftermath of the Cruel Truth

That night, I lied on the floor of the attic. Not on a bed, or even in the guest room. Not even given a comforter of any kind to sleep through the night peacefully. Or as peacefully as possible. ‘How could this have happened?’ I wondered. Now that it became apparent and known that Dylan was not my son, so to say, both Dingo and Lorelei insisted Duncan and I get divorced. Well, Lorelei was insisting on it, as well as insisted that Duncan should marry Ashley. Pass the Luna title to a ‘more fitting werewolf’. Dingo only suggested that I break things off with Duncan, as there was no further reason for me to remain in the family. Nothing more than that. No thanks for helping out around the pack, no apologies for having to deal with all the pain his son had put me through, nothing else. Not even offer me a safe leave from the pack. Why, he didn’t even object to Duncan’s demand of making a slave out of me. If anything, he seemed disappointed when he told me to get a divorce with his son. Fo

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Limited Time Left

Six months… I have six months left to live in this cruel world. Maybe not even at this point. This was revealed to me before I found out about Dylan. After I woke up, returned to the real world from that mental trip in the Spirit World and reconciled with my wolf, my body felt unbelievable weak and painful. At first, I had thought it was some kind of additional side effect to taking that trip, in which Patricia confirmed that it was anything but. That I shouldn’t be feeling any sort of pain after I reconnected with my wolf, much less visit the Spirit World. Concerned that this could be caused by something else, she informed Pularis, who contacted the hospital to send a doctor to the mansion to give me a thorough check up. At first, I was confused why he didn’t just have me sent there for the check up, when he reasoned that it was safer having the checkup done at his place, in case if Duncan or anyone on his side sees me at the hospital. A risk I also didn’t want to take. After waitin

"What did you say?!" I flinched at Pularis’s gasp, after I had told him what happened earlier, and my real reason in attending this meeting. “Your new circumstance aside, your reason for meeting with Dingo is very different from what you claimed earlier. And I know you were telling the truth back then.”“I know. And I’m sorry I hid my true intentions from you,” I apologized. “I was just hoping that he would be on my side.”“Because you thought his reason for not visiting you is similar to your friend’s case? From what she has told me, she didn’t know what became of you the past four years. Much less the day you were unjustly arrested.”I sighed as I recalled when I saw Caitlyn again back in the hospital, where I met Pularis. “She never was one for politics,” I mentally pointed out. “Would it matter?” Pularis countered. “Last I recall, you are not just that disgraceful Alpha’s wife; you are the pack’s Luna. Such news would have gotten out, especially if the father really did treasure

Duncan's POVI sat in the living room, my head down in disbelief from everything that happened in a span of a few hours just a little earlier. What have I seen? What did I witness? If it was a miracle, I much rather it be that than... Than whatever else that was revealed. It was one thing that Ashley- the love of my life who had been poisoned by that slut mutt, Susan- recover from the ailment that made her suffer. Find the strength in her that helped her take down that bitch that was beating her so. In fact, for all I know, that must be what happened. And everything else- every word said that was making me think otherwise- were nothing but lies in the end. All that was 'revealed' were nothing but fabrications. Tales that were being told differently than what the action truly showed."ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!" Or so I would have preferred it, if my father was not sitting across from me on the sofa, presenting me and Ashley with the package set on the table between us. The package was

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   A Slightly Warm Feeling

I looked up at Pularis in stupor. What was he trying to tell me?“S-Sorry, I think I got a little woozy there, Alpha. I could’ve sworn I’m hearing you tell me that I will be fully healed if my wolf awakens,” I said.“I am saying that.” My bafflement grew at his confirmation. “Now, don’t take my words seriously. I am no healer, and I am not some expert on wolves. The ones with us werewolves, that is. From what I’ve heard of your friend, there hasn’t been quite a case of an illness similar to yours in any medical records or books she knew of. Or am I wrong?”I was not a doctor myself, but from what I knew, Pularis was not wrong. Even Caitlyn said so, and hoped that his pack would know something about my condition that is not known in the Bluemoon pack.“I don’t know much about the role, you were born into the role of Werewolf Priestess, it is possible that there are plenty of differences about you compared to other werewolves, just as there is a difference between an Alpha werewolf and

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Soon, I Will Be Free

I was just closing my eyes when I heard light knocking at my door, marking me open them again. ‘Who’s at my door this time?’ I wondered.“Yes?”“It’s me. Mind if I come in?”“Alpha Pularis? Uh, sure. You can come in.”Once I gave him permission, the door opened, and my soon-to-be new Alpha entered. “Apologies for suddenly leaving. Had matters to take care of,” he said.“Would they have to do with Duncan and Ashley?” Pularis gave me an odd look when I asked that. “I was told by Miss Patricia.”He sighed at the response. “I thought I smelled her scent earlier,” he muttered, before turning back to me. “To answer your question, yes. Yes, it does have to do with those two.” He then stopped for a moment, looking me over. “You mind sitting up? I need to talk to you about something important.”Curiosity washed over me when he said that. “Yeah, I’ll try.” I was about to sit up, only to be reminded of how painful it was even adjusting myself on the bed. Unlike before, though, Pularis quickly to

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   The News of the Illness Reveal

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. What? I’m sorry, what? Huh? Ashley was what?”Those were the only things I could say after what Patricia revealed to me. News I never thought I would ever hear from… Well, anywhere. Nor did I think it to be that possible.“Like I said, child. That ‘Ashley’ girl has her lies exposed. The ‘illness’ she was said to be harboring was nothing more than a fake. A lie. An act. All with the right prop to use.”I was still in stupor, hearing that again. Replaying it in my head, even. This whole time, like Duncan and many others, I had thought she was truly affected by whatever aftermath that position had inflicted onto her. Now I’m hearing that there was no such thing? It was all nothing but some sick act Ashley had put on? But, that made no sense.“How could she have faked her illness this whole time? We’re not talking about ‘days’, but ‘years’. Even if Duncan was that blind to his love for her, he had to be sharp enough to realize the difference between fake and

Susan's POVI couldn’t sleep at all. I wasn’t sure if it was because I had already ‘slept’ enough that I didn’t need any more sleep, or if it was because I was starting to be conscious of the state of my body that I was not comfortable sleeping. I didn’t know which one it was, but I just couldn’t sleep.‘I wonder if I’m allowed to take any walks in the mansion. Or at least in my room. I don’t think I can sleep otherwise,’ I thought.I slowly tried to sit up from bed, though had some difficulties in doing so. My body was feeling quite sore, which made it a little tough for me to move. It especially hurts when I put pressure on some of my worst, bandaged injuries. That is, the bite and claw marks, according to Caitlyn.Eventually, instead of getting out of bed, I settled only for readjusting myself on it, and looked around the room.“I should’ve asked for a book to read or something,” I muttered.A knock was heard at the door, surprising me a bit.“Who is it?” I asked.“It’s me, dear. Time almost seemed to have frozen by the action. Not for me or my people, who know that punch did nothing to my Beta. For the Bluemoon wolves who thought that woman was so sickly, on the other hand- particularly a certain disgraceful Alpha...“Still believe her to be some flower to be protected?” Dingo questioned his son, who looked on in disbelief.“T-That… that’s just… an act! Yeah, that’s all that was!” the welp claimed, actually succeeding in baffling me that time, as several others were. “I know Ashley. She has a condition! She’s not able to cause any sort of harm on anything! That bitch of a werewolf only pretended that punch did anything to her! There’s no way Ashley actually-!”“You saw her take that Beta’s kick, and clearly that didn’t kill her as it would’ve any other sickly,” Dingo reminded him. “Moreover, as we saw, you claimed earlier her recovery is not like that of an average werewolf’s. The welp remained silent at the question. I didn't know if it meant that he didn't understand how he wouldn't know, or if he was waiting for a response from his father. Regardless, both options are equally sad and disappointing. "He's telling you that someone else picked the package up, and never reported to you about it. 'Hid' the package, more like," I answered for the pitifully dumb mutt. He who looked at me with rage."There is no way that-!""That is exactly what happened!" Dingo interrupted, frightening his son to silence. "The fact that your name is on these packages, and shipped to your house every month for the past four years are proof enough!""I-It could just be that bastard-!" Dingo unleashed another dose of his authority, silencing his son to submission. "You are still blaming someone outside the pack for a case that has happened in your very home? He who just arrived at our pack for the first time last month? It is clear enough that the true culprit is someone from in

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   What is This Package?

As expected, the moment it was made known what the book was, many in our little audience took 'interest' in the topic. To say the least. There were questions as to how the book was of any importance in this current situation, with several making assumptions that it would be about the lavishing spendings. I even overheard a few questioning what such info had to do with the matter at hand, noticing how troubled a couple sounded."How the hell did you get your hands on that?!" the welp demanded. "Ah, so you do know what this is," I said. "Now, as much as I would like to show here everything this book contains, we are not here to speak of the transaction history. No... What you want to know is details about this package delivered to you. From a shop called the 'Europhia Apothecary'.""I made no purchase to any apothecary, you fraudulent mutt!" the welp shouted.I rolled my eyes at him, surprised with how high his arrogance was. How fragile his pride turned out to be. "No one ever said yo

"What the hell is going on here?!"The chatters all ceased at my shout. Many turned my way, with some paling at the sight of me in my wolf form."I-It's the councilman!" a Bluemoon wolf barked out, as he and many others all parted, making a path for me to walk to the gate. I made no gesture of gratitude as I walked down the path made. Unlike most werewolves, who would usually reach an adult's waist in their wolf form, for me, I was pretty much as tall as an average adult in my form. Fitting for a werewolf whose wolf loves a good display of power. Fitting for an Alpha werewolf with a reputation like mine.As I walked, I could hear light whispers amongst the mass about my being here. And from what I was hearing, while some were assuming my arrival had to do with the suspicious package- an astute assumption from them- others assumed I was here to deliver news of the trial date, which was also not wrong. To say the least, the trial could've happened at any time.
