The heavy oak doors of the packhouse library slammed shut, cutting off the deafening roar of the crowd outside. But the silence inside this room was far more dangerous.

"What do you think you are doing, Aria?" My father’s voice vibrated with a terrifying, low growl. His eyes, usually a calm brown, were flashing violently with his inner wolf’s dominance. "Have you completely lost your mind? You just humiliated Alpha Jaxon in front of the entire eastern territory! You just destroyed our pack’s most vital alliance!"

"Humiliated him?" I let out a short, cold laugh, crossing my arms over my blood-red dress. I didn't shrink back from him. Not this time. "I simply spoke the truth, Father. I rejected a man who is unfit to lead, and a man who does not deserve my hand."

"How dare you!" My mother stepped forward, her pristine, aristocratic face contorted with pure rage. Behind her, Sienna was sobbing into her hands, playing the part of the heartbroken, innocent little sister flawlessly. "You ungrateful little bastard. We spent years grooming you to become Luna. We gave you everything, and you repay our family by dragging our name through the mud on your twenty-first birthday?"

"You gave me nothing," I whispered, my silver eyes locking onto my mother's cold glare. "And tonight, I am just taking back what is mine."

My father took a heavy, aggressive step toward me. The air in the room grew suffocatingly dense as he unleashed his full Alpha aura, trying to force my knees to buckle, trying to make me submit. In my past life, I would have fallen to the floor, weeping and begging for forgiveness. But tonight, my reborn wolf, Luna, stood tall inside my mind, snarling back at him.

"You will learn your place, Aria," my father snarled, raising his large, calloused hand high into the air. "If I have to beat some sense into you before we force you back onto that altar beside Jaxon, I will."

His hand sliced through the air, aiming directly for my face.

I didn't blink. I didn't cover my head.

Before his palm could make contact with my skin, the temperature in the room plummeted to absolute freezing ice. The heavy wood of the library doors didn't just open, they exploded inward, the brass hinges snapping under a wave of raw, monstrous pressure.

A suffocating, dark pressure flooded the room, an aura so devastatingly heavy that my father's breath caught in his throat. His hand froze in mid-air. His knees, the knees of a powerful pack Alpha, actually trembled.

"I suggest you lower that hand, Alpha Richard," a voice boomed. It was low, raspy, and carried the terrifying authority of a man who ruled over kings. "Unless you would like me to remove it from your body permanently."

My heart stopped.

There he stood in his majestic glory, nearly seven feet tall, his massive shoulders entirely filling the frame of the ruined doorway. He wore a dark, tailored coat that fluttered slightly against the cold autumn wind sweeping in behind him. His jaw was rigid, and a jagged, pale scar cut across the side of his neck, a brutal reminder of the wars he had fought and won.

But it was his eyes that held me hostage. They were pitch black, glowing with a dangerous, predatory obsidian fire as they swept across the room. Behind him, four heavily armored Lycan guards moved into the room like shadows, their hands resting casually on the hilts of their silver blades.

"Alpha... Alpha Ethan," my father stammered, his terrifying Alpha aura vanishing instantly as he lowered his hand and bowed his head in a submissive gesture. "We... we did not expect you to enter the private quarters. This is simply a minor family dispute."

"A family dispute?" Ethan stepped deeper into the room. Every step he took felt like a seismic shift in the earth. He didn't even look at my father. His piercing, dark gaze moved directly past my parents, ignored Sienna completely, and locked entirely onto me.

The air between us crackled with a sudden, invisible current of electricity. My wolf roared in response, her claws digging into the edges of my consciousness. Him. It's him.

"I do not care about your pack’s disputes, Alpha Richard," Ethan said coldly, his eyes never leaving mine. "But I do have a strict rule against men raising their hands to women." His gaze flicked down my red dress for a split second, taking in the bold color before returning to my face. "Leave us."

My mother gasped. "Sir? This is our daughter, she...."

"I did not ask for your opinion, Luna Eleanor," Ethan cut her off, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper that made the glass windows rattle. "I said, leave the room. All of you. Now."

My father grabbed my mother's arm, his face pale with terror. He didn't dare cross the Lycan King. Sienna shot me one last, hateful look through her fake tears before they all scurried out of the room like frightened mice, clicking the door shut behind them.

The silence returned, but it was no longer heavy with abuse. It was heavy with anticipation.

The Lycan King stood a few feet away from me, his massive frame towering over me. Up close, I could smell his scent, it was cedarwood, winter frost, and a metallic hint of ozone. It was intoxicating.

"You have a very strange habit, Aria," Ethan murmured, taking one slow step toward me. "Most women run away when an Alpha raises his hand. You didn't even flinch. It was almost as if... you knew exactly how this scene was going to end."

I tilted my head up, refusing to let his massive height intimidate me. "I knew exactly who was entering that door, Alpha Ethan."

A dark brow arched over his obsidian eyes. "Is that so? I am a guest at your border. I have no business in your packhouse. Yet, the moment you rejected your fated mate out there, I felt your scent spike all the way from the gatehouse. Why did you do it? Jaxon is a powerful match for this territory."

I took a deep breath, knowing that my next words would dictate whether I survived this night or died all over again. I stepped closer to him, stopping only when my chest was inches from his coat. I looked the terrifying monster of the eastern wild dead in the eye.

"Because a pack of sheep cannot handle a tiger, Alpha Ethan," I said, my voice smooth, confident, and filled with a chilling certainty. "Jaxon is a coward who plays in the dark. I don't want a match. I want an alliance with a true monster to burn this entire pack to the ground. Tell me, Lycan King... are you interested?"

For a long, breathless moment, Ethan stared down at me. The absolute stillness of his body was terrifying. Then, slowly, the hard line of his jaw relaxed. His lips curved upward into a dangerous, dark, and devastatingly handsome smile.

"An alliance to burn a kingdom down?" Ethan whispered, his voice vibrating deep in his chest as he leaned down, his breath brushing against my ear. "Little tiger... you have no idea how much I love fire."

The sound of the torrential rain slamming against the reinforced glass windows of the armored carriage felt like the steady rhythm of a ticking clock.I sat pressed as far back into the plush leather cushions as possible, my arms wrapped tightly over my chest. My wet clothes clung uncomfortably to my skin, but the physical chill was nothing compared to the absolute storm of tension filling the small, enclosed space. Directly across from me sat Alpha Ethan Vance. He had shed his soaked military cloak, leaving him in a dark shirt that stretched tightly across the brutal width of his broad shoulders. He sat with his elbows resting on his knees, his chin propped on his knuckles, his intense, gold-flecked amber eyes locked onto my face with a terrifying, unblinking intensity. The physical proximity was pure agony. The carriage was completely saturated with his dominant, suffocating Alpha aura, pouring his intoxicating scent of cedar and mountain air straight into my lungs. My inner wolf wa

The cold steel of the blade pressed deeper into the sensitive skin of my throat, drawing a tiny, stinging bead of blood. I held my breath, my body locking into a rigid, defensive stance as Alpha Richard’s enforcer gripped my hair tighter, forcing my head back."Tick-tock, Marcus," Richard sneered, his voice dripping with pure, mocking malice as he tapped the territory documents against his polished boot. "What is it going to be? Do you watch your precious little girl bleed out on the dirt floor, or do you sign the papers?""No! Stop! Don't hurt her!" my father roared from the back wall, his weak, battered frame shaking violently as the iron chains rattled against the ceiling. His spirit, which had survived years of brutal physical torture, completely broke the moment my life was put on the line. Tears of pure agony cut through the dirt on his pale cheeks. "I'll sign it! I'll tell you where the royal signet stamp is hidden! Just pull the knife away from my daughter's throat!"An evil,

My head throbbed in rhythm with my racing heart as the heavy wooden dungeon doors slammed shut, locking me back in the dim, suffocating silence of the cells.Slowly, I forced myself up from the dirt, my body aching with a deep, crushing fatigue. I didn't waste a single second crying over Richard's intense hatred for my family. Instead, I rushed across the damp cell toward the back wall, where my father, Marcus, hung limply from the iron chains fixed to the stone ceiling."Dad," I whispered, my hands trembling violently as I worked the heavy, rusted locks. With a final, desperate pull, the iron unlatched. Marcus collapsed forward, his weak, battered frame falling directly into my waiting arms.I carefully guided him down to the ground, propping his back against the damp stone wall. Spotting an old wooden bucket of water in the dark corner of the cell, I quickly brought it over, cupping the cool liqu
