Elena and Hunter. Hunter and Elena.
I should be happy for them, I should give them my blessings, I should wish them nothing but happiness.
I know what she went through. She never said anything to me and mother has kept mum about it but I am no fool. I know she was raped because of me. I should be grateful she volunteered to take my place. I should, but I am not. I am a monster.
I want Hunter, I want him more than anything else in the world. He consumes my every waking moment and I thrive just by drinking in the sight of his beautiful face. I know it’s strange, how can I fall for a man I barely know? He hasn’t even spoken more than a few sentences to me but there’s just something about him that draws me, that makes me yearn for him. ELENA’s POV The night is filled with a labyrinth of stars and as we stand at the borders of the forest, Helios raises his hand. “You men stay here,” he orders before turning to point at me. “Elena, you come with me.” I nod and take a step forward. ELENA’s POV The Witch is a mystery. She had healed Helios, shared with us the crystal’s knowledge and yet she has not asked for anything in return. I stand next to Helios who has awoken and he bows deeply before the Witch. “Great one,” Helios says and I raise an eyebrow. I have never heard him address anyone with so much respect before. “Please, can you please tell us where the crystal is, or at the very least where the bastard, I mean, where Clyde is?” He tugs at my arm, trying to make me bow too but I shoo his hand away. ELENA’s POV The night is almost over when we finally meet up with Helios once more. He sits on a rocky boulder with his chin propped in one hand. With the other, he plucks leaves from a little tree, but he immediately springs to his feet when he sees us.
