Chapter Twenty-one
For a while, Theodore and his people felt safer, now that they have a powerful ally. For so many years, they have been running and hiding from Lycans or Vampires. Now that Rio is around, Dolores won’t have to worry, well at least for now. They both knew that after that incident, the alpha king of Amberwood would retaliate and avenge his fallen warriors.
Rio declined Dante’s business proposal after learning who he really was. He also explained to Leonard about the situation he is in right now and Leo cannot help himself but worry about him. Rio has put him in charge of his position in his company temporarily. Aunt Petra had a heart attack when he learns this from Leonard so Rio was forced to leave Deadrei at the ranch to check on Petra.

The cold breeze of winter seems to be adding to Rio’s sadness. He holds Petra’s hand who is now bedridden after the heart attack. Ferdie had already fallen asleep near the fireplace.

The rainfall was heavy and Leonard knew that it will not stop any time soon. He and Mathilda are stuck in this old cabin by the lake. He lit some firewood in the fireplace to give some warmth to the freezing Mathilda. He has a warm body but he thinks that if she wakes up and sees him beside her, she might freak out.
