Kiara’s POV

The scene of killing Jason played in my mind over and over again. His screams rang in my head. Do I feel regret for what I had done to him? Did I wish it could have turned out differently? I did not know how I felt about my action towards Jason, all I was sure of was to kick myself up and break free from this nightmare. I needed it to stop.

“No,” I found myself yelling out of my slumber. My heart was racing. The machines attached to my body were going crazy with their loud noises blasting through the room. It must have alerted a nurse as I found her running into my ward. She looked at me, and how I lay half sitting, trying to understand what was going on. Before I could ask her a question, she gave a slight nod and dashed out, only to return with two other nurses and a doctor who looked like he was in his mid-40s.

“You are finally awake Miss uh,” he trailed off, trying to look down into his worksheet for my name. But I saved him the stress of completing his sentence,

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Compassion

Kiara’s POV Months flew by like seconds after my return. Everything felt right, there was peace, joy, happiness, and no conflict in the pack. No wars, no harassments, no rogue attacks. When Brandon and Ryder broke the news to me about who I truly am, a hybrid, everything began to make absolute sense. Me not being able to manifest my wolf and my strange powers that overwhelm my being. “Will I be able to have a wolf?” I asked, glancing at both of them. “We can’t say for sure sweetness, but we believe you will,” Brandon answered calmly. “Hopefully I do. There is no one whose Luna is wolfless,” I said in a low tone. “That is the least of my worries,” Ryder reassured me, and that melted my heart taking all of my worries out. The festival of Ryder’s coronation anniversary is fast approaching and as scared as I am of participating in the ceremony, I know I need to be there. Heck, he is my mate. I have noticed that the behavior and responses to me have lessened. Some acted a littl

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    The Summit

Ryder’s POV “Never! We won’t allow it,” one of the elders yelled across the room. Since the news on who Kiara really is broke out, the elders summoned Brandon and me immediately. There have been controversies about her being a curse upon the pack and the news about her being a hybrid made the elders angrier than they were in the past. “Can we kindly cut the maiden some slack? She just got back to the pack for the goddess’s sake. Let her catch some breath before you summon her to this meeting,” I said to them, standing ten toes on the fact that Kiara would not be present in today's meeting, the next, or any other. The manner in which she was treated the last time really cut me deep and I would not want my Luna to be ridiculed once more. “You are the core enabler of her character,” one of the elders called out and his words were followed by mumbles. “Let it be known in this room and beyond that I am the Alpha, the ruler, and some proprietor of this pack. Even though you all ar

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Designation

Ryder’s POV I watched her reactions at each step of the way, from how much she laughed, to how overwhelmed she felt, to a tiny piece of anger, and to her wide beautiful smile she had when I handed her the bouquet. My heart was racing, in the hope that Brandon had everything planned out already as we had stated the night before. I knew Kiara was pissed by his absence but only if she knew how much we had both poured ourselves into this, into welcoming her back home. “Oh, I missed this sight,” she moaned all-out as we approached the Manor. “It stands so tall as always,” she added looking at me with bright eyes. “Yes it does my princess,” I responded to her as I packed my car right out the stairs leading to the main entrance. I noticed her struggling with balancing her bouquet on one hip so one of her hands would be free to open the door by her side.“Don’t be silly you. I will get the door,” I reprimanded her at once because what does she think she is pulling off. “Sorry,”

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Holding onto you

Kiara’s POVThe ride to the Manor was a good one. From the music blasting through the speakers to Ryder singing along and acting like a teenager, to me giggling at him because this was the first time he dropped the Alpha regalia and acted his age. A sight to behold. When he stopped to get ice cream like he promised, he wore his high-pitched accent once more. “Why do you keep doing that,” I said to him while I was trying to gasp for air from laughing at his fake accent. “Because it makes you laugh so loud,” he answered as he stared into my eyes. We both gazed at each other for a while before we were distracted by the voice of the waiter who called out signaling that our order was ready. “Thank you,” Ryder said to him. “Do I know you from somewhere?” the waiter asked, directing his question to Ryder. “You sure don’t,” Ryder responded, wearing his accent once more. Before he rolled up his window and tightened his seatbelt. “You just lied to that young man back there, didn’

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Gates of affection

Kiara’s POV“You are finally set to go home,” Ryder announces to me as he walks into my ward, holding my discharge card in his hand, waving it from left to right. It has been two long days in the hospital. Ryder and Brandon talked about speaking to the doctor about my discharge, but he insisted that I stay back for at least 48hours so they could monitor my health and heart rate balance. Since I understand that they are looking out for me, I miss the Manor so much. I miss what home felt like. Hearing the news that I have to finally get back home made me feel like a child who was placed in a bucket of candy. Looking down at the hospital gown I had on, I knew this was not befitting as a return wear to the pack after so long. As if Ryder had read my mind, he said to me, “Oh Missy, my Luna is definitely not wearing that out of this ward. Here is a lovely silk dress for you my love.” He had the whitest smile, flashing it to me as he handed me the box of clothes. “Thank you,” I mu
