Chapter 1 Sold Her To Slavers

(Alexa's POV)

“She's cursed! We should banish her right away!”

“Yes! She must be the reason why we still don't have an Alpha heir.”

“Let's just burn her alive or sell her to the Slave Traders. We can't let someone like her live in our pack any longer!”

“I agree!”

“I agree!”

“Banish her!”

“Sell her to the Slavers!”

I could hear their cold voices loud and clear, echoing repeatedly in my ear. It was words of disgust and hatred where everything pointed at me, going brutal every passing second. I was on the trial ground, but I felt like I was on the execution ground where everyone stood there not to judge me, but to stone me to death with their heavy curses.

I could feel my legs shaking, ready to collapse at any moment. Their words pierced my heart like an arrow, giving me no room for voicing out my feelings. I had no one with me, not my friends, not the Goddess, not even myself. I was so alone that even I had betrayed myself, cursing my very existence for why I was born without anyone to lean on.

They all accused me for being cursed just because I didn't have a wolf. But I know full well that it was just an excuse to harm me.

"Scratch her face off! Make her unable to seduce men again!" A familiar angry female voice rang out.

But I didn't seduce any man, I just said thank you to her mate.

"Just cut her head off! What's wrong about killing a lowly orphan like her?"

"Yes! Kill her!"

"Kill her!"

Their curses raged on, but what rights did I have to say no? On that cold platform, I only had one thing I wanted to voice out in which no one bothered to hear. "Oh Goddess, why have you forsaken me?"

As a mere orphan, I knew my boundaries. I never dreamt of anything more than a simple life. Having something to eat and a shelter I can sleep in was already more than enough for me.

I had never even dreamt of a mate as I knew that someone like myself didn't deserve anyone. I gave up thinking about anything that could give rise to my desire.

Not even once I became proud. I humbled myself so low that people would spit on my face without me getting angry. I even had the guts to smile, thinking that I deserve such a treatment. For I thought that by bowing myself so low, I could avoid getting on someone's nerves and avoid trouble.

“So, what's your decision, Alpha Lawrence? It seems like everyone here wants to banish her.” One of the high-ranked members who seemed to be an Elder suddenly asked. All the people there had their gazes filled with anticipation. They directed their gazes to the highest platform where the Alpha was seated.

“What banish? Let's just kill her right this instant! A whore like her doesn't deserve to live,” A voice of a woman filled with hatred screamed. If not for the Alpha, she might have done the deed herself right now.

"No! Don't be such a fool, you brainless woman. We should just banish her and sell her to the humans!"

"What did you just say?! Do you wan..."

“Silence!” Before the crowd could get any crazier, Beta Miguel immediately cut them off. His cold voice was laced with high authority that none among the crowds dared to defy.

Seeing the complete silence, Beta Miguel nodded his head in satisfaction. He turned to look at the highest platform where the Alpha was seated as he stood up and bowed his head deeply. And then he asked with utter respect, “Alpha Lawrence, please let me speak my honest opinion.”

Alpha Lawrence stared at him expressionlessly for a moment before he nodded, “Go ahead.”

Beta Miguel took this chance to speak as he explained, “Alexa Mondragon, if I were to judge her, I would rather not kill her.”

“So, we should just spare her life and free her?” Alpha Lawrence asked calmly, still expressionless.

At that moment, a ray of hope dawned upon me. However, it didn't last for too long as I heard the Beta's reply the next moment.

“No,” A cold response escaped the Beta's mouth. His eyes flashed with a cold glint and a trace of greed and avarice was concealed deep within, “We will not kill her, but we will not free her as well. Instead, we should sell her to the humans. Although it's risky due to our sour relationship, it's worth taking a risk.”

“And why do you think so?” Alpha Lawrence asked.

“Simple. Alexa Mondragon has a great body. I believe humans will like it as she will definitely fetch a high price.” Beta Miguel responded. A faint smile curled up on his lips, his intention became so much more vivid.

“Oh? It's for that reason...” Alpha nodded his head in realization as he retracted his gaze and turned to the crowd. “What do the others think about Beta Miguel's suggestion?”

“That sounds good, I agree!”

“I agree!”

“I agree!”

Just like that, the words ‘I agree’ echoed repeatedly within the crowds. For money, they were willing to risk being hunted by humans to sell me.

My legs finally gave in as I finally collapsed on the cold ground. Being sold as a slave was something worse than death. Who knew what horror would come upon me once I became a slave? But what right do I have to say no?

Seeing how enthusiastic the crowd was, and their affirmation of Beta Miguel's suggestion, Alpha Lawrence nodded his head. Having to make up his mind, he turned to look at me nonchalantly and finally voiced out his decision, "You have been found guilty of the charges against you. Being cursed that brings misfortune to our pack is a grave sin that even the Goddess is no doubt will hate."

"Therefore, with the power bestowed upon me by the Goddess of Moon, I, Lawrence Ozias, Alpha of the Savage Tyranny Pack, sentence you, Alexa Mondragon, to be banished and be sold to the Human Slavers."
