KRISTINA'S POV

The Crimson Snow Pack members gathered together in the lobby. We were all dressed identically, but I felt like I stood out the most. Our theme was supposed to make us wear all black, and yet, I was the only exception—I wore a red dress that was tight on my waistline, which exposed the curves of my body. Even my breasts almost popped out because of their size.

This was what Laurence told me to wear a while ago in preparation for his coronation night.

He also lent me a sparkling golden necklace. It was the one that his mother had hidden before she disappeared from their lives. I think that might be one of the reasons why Laurence couldn't bear to see me in the orphanage—he doesn't want me to experience the worst part of being abandoned.

"You look magnificent tonight, Kristina," Laurence sincerely complimented me while he was holding onto his wine glass.

I playfully smirked as I copied his gesture. "Just tonight?"

He hissed before sipping on his drink. "You've always been beautiful, ever since the first moment that my eyes laid on you."

Even though that's what he said, I still can't shake off the thought that he doesn't want to have me as his mate or even consider me one.

Hours went by quickly, and most of us were already tipsy because of the alcoholic beverages we consumed. Thankfully, we were able to congratulate Laurence as the new Alpha before all of us were intoxicated.

My surroundings kept swirling around; I could barely stand on my own. Fortunately, Laurence never left my side.

"W-where are we going?" My vision was too blurred for me to see the exact path where Laurence was heading. "Laurence? Didn't you hear me? I said, where are we going?" I repeated my query.

"Hush, I'm bringing you to my bed. It's dangerous for you to stay there together with drunk men who you aren't close with," he answered with little to no hesitation. "You'd be much safer with me," he added.

I let him do as he pleased until the back of my body finally touched his soft and fluffy bed. I sat on the edge as I continuously tugged on my dress to let the cold breeze brush through the insides of my attire.

"F*ck, don't do that." Laurence held both of my hands to stop me, and the second that I gazed upon him, I was immediately mesmerized by how close our faces were.

Laurence had his back slightly bent to lean towards me to reach my hands. I know it wasn't intentional, but I couldn't help but have my heart racing for him.

"Y-you're drunk, Laurence. Move," I abruptly uttered as I attempted to push him away.

However, it didn't happen, as I was the one who got pushed towards the bed instead. Laurence was literally on top of me. His legs prevented both of my thighs from spreading apart, while his hands were gripping my shoulders.

"Between the two of us, I'm much more sober than you are."

His smile was to die for!

"Don't blame me for whatever will occur later on, Laurence."

My hands traveled to his forearms, and I gently tapped them to ask him to release me, which he did. He moved his hands just beside my head. Our eye contact was maintained while I was massaging every bit of his muscles that were on his forearms, until I touched his nape.

"Are you sure you don't want me?" I asked him in my seductive tone. "You're going to miss me a lot when someone else gets to have me, Laurence. Don't you think you should be the first one to have a taste of me while we're still together?" I bit my lower lip just right after I licked it, to make him tempted to kiss me.

Nothing would change regarding our relationship if neither of us did anything—decent or not—anything!

Which is why I decided to be the one to lead our first night together as I pulled him closer for me to plant kisses on his lips, down to his neck.

And even if I was considerably weaker than him, I managed to turn our positions around. I was the one sitting on his stomach now, while he had his body lying on his bed.

"Why aren't you telling me to stop?" I curiously asked him, still in the middle of marking each and every corner of his chest. I could even feel my own hot breath.

Laurence preferred to keep his eyes shut. It's like he has totally given his whole body solely to me. I would've thought that he was just testing me if he hadn't marked me on my neck.

Only the gods have an idea about what we did next—we made love for a couple of minutes, until both of us were out of breath.

He let me use his arm as a pillow as we faced the white ceiling.

"So much for someone who didn't want to have me as his mate." I teased him, hoping that he'd say otherwise.

"Is it a sin to have s*x with a woman I'm not fated with?"

I turned my head around to face him, but he wasn't looking at me. "You're the son of the Alpha, and yet you lack so much knowledge. You could be cursed by the Moon Goddess; what else do you think?"

"Correction: I'm the current Alpha now, and my father was the former Alpha," he proudly said. Laurence suddenly stood up, which made me do the same. "This scent…" he whispered to himself with his eyebrows raised. "It can't be…" He glanced at his door, as if someone was out there waiting for him to come outside.

"Is anyone out—"

"Mate!" Laurence yelled out as he approached the entrance of his room, hastily opening his door, which revealed a dazzling woman.

I rubbed my eyes in order to clearly see who it was, only to find out that it was the leader of the opposing pack, Lady Montereal. She was almost identical to me, and the only feature that made us dissimilar from one another was the color of her hair; I had natural silver hair, while she only had plain black hair.

If Lady Montereal really was Laurence's fated mate…

Then does this mean that my joyous moments here with Laurence will come to an end?

KRISTINA'S POVThe next morning, Laurence came up with an idea to make this transition easier, and said it would be much better if we had someone take over some of the responsibility. I agreed right away. The others thought I was being unreasonable. I wasn't. As long as they were safe, I cared less where our lives took us. I am willing to sacrifice everything for them. Even though I didn't tell them how much of a hard time I'd had when we decided to have another child, I could see in their faces that they already knew, even though I hadn't said anything. Laurence made them understand that it wasn't about what we wanted, it was about what was best for everyone. Now, after the war against the Black Fangs Pack ended, I was finally able to relax. Even though we had lost most of our land during the war, the pack remained. We built a new settlement in the far northern region of the land, which is very near my old territory. A lot of people are happy to rebuild their homes. In fact, they

His healing process wasn't enough, or so they thought.Alliyah was the main cause why I never felt better, she poisoned me after she figured out that Laurence was the one responsible for trapping her father. She sought for vengeance, and the only thing she could think of that would make Laurence suffer was to harm me.Laurence had no other choice left, he couldn't be mad at Nathan as he did his best, which he witnessed. He could only provide me and my triplets the happiness that they deserve for the remaining lifespan that I had, like fulfilling their wishes. They finally got blessed by the moon goddess. KRISTINA'S POVNathan didn't notice the wounds on my body, maybe I got them from running hard while I was in wolf form. After a while I felt delirious. I was constantly moaning and writhing in extreme pain. With the strength of my growl I got Nathan's attention. When Nathan saw my wound, he immediately cleaned it and bandaged it. I just calmed down when I felt Nathan's firm grip on my hands. I was unconscious until the next day and night. Nathan changed my bandage again until he saw that my wound was slowly healing. On the second day, I woke up a little, but still seemed out of my mind. Nathan forced me to eat. Even though I didn't want to eat at first and kept moaning and whining in extreme pain, I eventually had to give in. He also gave me some medicine so I could get better and I did, but my appetite was still gone. After two days in bed I felt better and finally started eating again. On the third day I managed to eat some food. After that Nathan left for work and I was alone in

KRISTINA'S POVI was not comfortable with the ride so I called Nathan and talked to him. I took off my clothes and retreated into a corner. "Kristina, what are you doing?" Nathan shouted. "We need to run fast using my wolf form. I don't want my clothes to get ruined when I transform into a wolf. I can now run fast without my clothes getting caught on the trees."I quickly made Nathan follow what I said. He was startled when I grabbed him and pulled him up. Then, he wrapped his arms around my neck and closed his eyes tightly. "Kristina–"But the wind swallowed his voice as I shot off to the forest. Nathan gasped and clung to me very tightly. He wanted to say that their run was romantic. But the f*ck it wasn't. There was nothing romantic about the frigid and harsh wind slapping his face, nothing sweet about his ears popping from pressure. And especially not romantic about how fast we were running in his state of mind. So, there was no romance between us and neither was there any pa

KRISTINA'S POVThen, without warning, he leaned down to pull something up from behind me and wrapped a blanket around me. "Don't worry about that." He smiled gently, wrapping his hand around mine before leading me to sit by the edge of the ledge. I glanced down at our intertwined fingers briefly before turning my gaze back towards the view. "We'll have a nice picnic when we make it to the mainland. I'm sure we'll find a nice spot for that as well." "I don't suppose you happen to know where we are right now?" "No." I said, looking at the horizon again, watching as the sun slowly set behind it, "But I do know that it's almost sunrise, so that means it should be safe to leave soon." Nathan nodded and turned back to look at the sky. The sun finally broke free above the water and started its journey towards the west, leaving trails of golden light in its wake, lighting the way to our destination. We sat together quietly, enjoying the view, but Nathan seemed much more at ease than ear

KRISTINA'S POVMy voice cracked as another sob escaped me. "All three of us…" It felt good to admit how much I had missed him. The silence was deafening this time. A cold hand clasped itself around my arm. "That's not happening, Kristina," he said firmly. "There's no way we can escape. And besides, you have no chance of getting past that thing."He sighed and shook his head. "This is all my fault." "Nathan–" "You don't understand!" He exclaimed, suddenly enraged, "We're locked up in the damn prison for our entire lives. You can't blame me for this. I did nothing wrong! You did everything wrong!" His voice rose into hysteria. "You're supposed to care about me! Why are you acting so stupid? You're never going to forgive yourself, aren't you?" "N–Nathan…" "Stop acting like an idiot! How many times do I have to tell you that this is my fault! Don't give me that crap about how you tried to help me! All you did was drive the wolves away! Just like you always do!" I winced as he screa
