“You’re off to work now?” I asked while wiping my hands. I just got finished washing the dishes. I look at him with gentle eyes.

He nodded while adjusting his necktie. I approached him and helped him fix his necktie. He stopped what he was doing and let me continue.

I’ve got conscious when I felt his stare at me. He’s not glaring, he’s just staring like I’m kind of a puzzle. I looked up at him and smiled slightly.

“You're old enough but you still don't know how to fix your necktie.” I joked with him and it was followed by a short laugh. But he didn't even look happy and his expression was still serious.

After a while, I gasped when I felt the touch of his warm palm on my waist.

I don't know why, but I always get a strange feeling every time our skin comes close. Whenever he touches me by accident or whenever I try to touch him. There was a strange tickling in my stomach. Sometimes my whole body gets hot because of that.

It was just a simple interaction from my husband but I feel like palpitating! Gosh, Callum! What are you doing to my system.

“I don't need to learn now,” his husky voice sent shivers down my spine. “I have a wife now that knows how to tie my necktie properly. So what’s the use of learning, right?” I was trying to furrow my brow even as the butterflies in my stomach were tickling it because of what he said.

“You’re so cocky, Callum. What if you're not with me? And you have to attend board meetings or formal parties, you still won't learn how to tie a necktie properly?” I glared at him and placed my two palms on his shoulder when I finished.

His face darkened, “why? Do you have plans on going somewhere without me?” I rolled my eyes on him.

I laughed a little even though my heart was touching. “Nothing, of course. But what if I plan to spend the night with Kiana, then I can't get home early, no one will take care of you. Even if other housemaids are there, it's still different when I take care of you.” There, Hailey. You’re getting professional now!

He chuckled nonchalantly, “I guess you’re right. But when you're not around, then I'll take care of myself. When you are here, you will take care of me.” He smiled that almost melt my heart.

He crouch to kiss my lips and smiled at me. His eyes glint of so much unadulterated emotion I couldn’t fathom.

“It’s not a bad idea to marry, huh. To have a wife like you is a blessing in disguise.” Then he kissed my forehead.

I closed my eyes tightly and smiled lovingly.

“Come on, you might be late for your work. You must have a meeting at this time. You can’t be late at work.” he looked shocked.

“How did you know?” he asked while frowning at me.

“Uhh...” I scratched the back of my neck in shame. “I saw it in your study table and kind of... Uh... Memorize it.” I smiled awkwardly at him.

He sighed before gently cursing. “You’re so unbelievable. But, yeah, I need to go now. Bye, wife.” he kissed me one more time before living the house with his bodyguards.

I sighed heavily and crossed my arms over my chest. Realizing that Callum is now changing his attitude towards me. He’s caring, actually. And he’s also gentle to me. I don't know if that's the way he treated me on purpose or what. Whereas when we first got together, he hardly came home to the mansion and I even heard that he was having sex with women.

And I am here, waiting patiently like a faithful wife does.

I stayed there dumbfounded until I remembered what Daddy and I talked about last month. And since then I've been really trying. But I'm actually the one backing down because I can't.

I said the driver just drop me to a nearby restobar. I just need to think while drinking. I used to drink before, when I was in college. Because Daddy allowed me to study at a prestigious university in Manila, I learned to drink. And that's what made Daddy the most angry with me. Sometimes I even drank with my sister Kiana so they got even angrier.

“One bottle of Martini,” I said to the waiter and also ordered something to eat while drinking.

When my order came, I immediately started drinking while thinking. Some even tried to sit in the opposite chair but I immediately said, “I already have a husband”. And they will leave immediately.

I don’t want to cheat, of course! Even if it's a forced marriage, it's still not good for a woman to cheat. I just don't know about Callum. This is so frustrating.

“How is that?! How can I do that?!” Frustrated, I gulped down the wine that was in the bottle while adjusting myself because I really had no idea about that.

I already tried to search about how to romance your husband. But there’s just the same context! It’s always about sex! I don’t even have any experience on that thing!

“What the fuck is wrong with you, woman?!” a familiar voice filled my ears.

With wide eyes, I tried to look back and saw Callum. Huh? Callum? Why is he here? No, he can’t be here. It’s still working hour!

“Nah. I’m just hallucinating. I drank too much, I think.” I whispered to myself as I looked at the bottle of wine in front of me. It's only about three or four inches tall.

Wow, did I drink too much? I chuckled.

“Oh my gosh!” I look at who’s talking. “What time is it now?”

“It’s already 6:30pm,” his dark expression gives chill inside me.

“C-Callum...”

“You’re not hallucinating now? Then, let’s go.” I was about to speak when he suddenly picked me up bridal style.

“Wait, Callum! I haven't been paid yet!” I even slapped his shoulder just to make him put me down.

“I already paid it all!” I kept quiet and just put my arms around his neck before closing my eyes.

I felt him put me in the passenger seat of his car, because I knew it was his just by the smell. I didn't speak or wake up because my vision was really getting worse.

I must have fallen asleep on the trip because I only woke up when Callum was putting me down on our bed. He was about to stand up properly but I didn't release my arm around his neck.

“Don’t leave,” I said in a slurred voice.

“I won't leave. I'll just get a towel in the bathroom. I will wipe you. You stink, Avery.” I pouted and let him leave my side.

I really watched to see if he really went to the bathroom. When I was sure of that, I closed my eyes again. A satisfied smile crept on my lips.

I just felt the touch of a wet towel on my face and neck. I moaned when he suddenly touched my skin. This is how he affect me!

“Fuck,” I heard Callum groan and cuss, then he stopped wiping me.
