Invitation

These days, I find Cami often visiting Toma whenever the class ends. Toma must've gotten her so hooked into him. "That girl is really pretty, huh?" Xia commented as she stares at the couple talking to each other.

"Yeah, Toma got really high standards." I said.

Then I felt Xia clinging to my arm. "I gotta say, you've got extreme standards as well." She giggled.

"Ugh in your dreams." I teased.

She suddenly looked like she's about to cry. "Hey that's rude!" It made me laugh. Being with Xia really lightens my mood sometimes.

"I'm just being honest."

"Tsk."

"Pfft, I'm kidding!"

"Argh!' She threw a soft punch on my arm while I just laughed at her. Then again, someone always interrupts my fun moment with Xia. And it's always Toma.

"Hey guys!" He greeted.

"Err, hi." Xia replied, still in a bad mood.

"What's up?"

"Cami said I can invite a few friends over for her cousin's huge party. Will you guys come?"

Xia who was in a foul mood changed in lightspeed. "Heck yeah!" Then she turns her head to me and held my hand. "Let's go to that party Yuji!"

She really looked excited.

To be honest, I hate parties. It's noisy, messy, and I'm sure there will be a lot of drunk people there. But seeing Xia so excited like this makes me hesitate in declining. I sighed, surrendering to her charms. "Sure. We'll go." I told Toma.

When I looked at him, I was a bit weirded out by his blank face while staring at us. It changed immediately as he realized I was looking at him too.

"Oh okay, okay. I'll make sure to tell Cami that you guys are coming." He said smiling then leaves.

…was Toma always like that?

Xia distracted me from my thoughts when she began talking about her party experiences. I thought it would be good to listen to her about it since I don't attend parties at all. Then that was all she could talk about the whole day because she's so excited attending a party with me.

When we already parted ways, I headed back to my dorm to get started with all the homework and to have some rest. Toma was already there before me, he was just playing on his phone while eating some chips.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Mm." He didn't even bother to reply properly.

My eyes just rolled at him. I placed all my stuff on the studying table and got started. But then I felt Toma's presence behind me, he caved me in his arms and rested his chin on my head. "What is it?" I asked as I started writing down stuff.

"Nothing." He casually answered. "I just wanna sniff your hair."

"Fuck off Toma, don't bother me when I'm busy."

"Can't."

"And why not?"

His arms hugged my neck. "I just miss my best bro hahaha!" His hug was choking me! I pinched him harshly so he would let go.

"Ouch."

"You idiot, are you trying to kill me by strangling me?" I looked at him to glare at him, but both my mind and face went blank when I saw how he looked at me.

He had his serious face on, which he rarely wears and use on me. He moves his face closer and we both got to stare at each other's eyes for a minute or two. I didn't know what to react, but I felt my face unconsciouly responding by turning hot and my heart slowly started racing fast.

What the fuck…

It took me a few more moments before I could shove his face away. "The fuck are you trying to do!?" I yelled.

His serious face vanished when he broke into laughter. "You should've seen your face! It was epic! Hahaha!"

"You fucking weirdo!" Before he could recover from his laughter, I gave him some punch on the face and hit him more with the books on my table.

He's the worst roommate ever.
