Eight: Nightmares and cuddles

"Turn that thing off." Grey groaned turning to his side at the unpleasant sound of the alarm clock.

His eyes peered open as the annoying sound only continued, groaning her rose up from the floor when he laid. Stretching out his stiff bones, his sleepy eyes moved towards the window glaring outside which was always still dark.

Shit, he must've slept off. His eyes darted to the phone making the noise, sighing when he spotted Harley's phone he turned off the alarm.

It was just four a.m, he wondered why she would want to wake up this early.

Grey studied her sleeping form, lying on her stomach, Harley's red hair which was packed in a bun had several strands pulled out from the black scrunchie holding them together.

Her shirt had ridden up a bit revealing her waist and a bit of her back.

He couldn't help himself but stare at her exposed tanned skin, even though he wanted to look away he couldn't. His eyes eventually drifted downwards to her cotton shorts which hugged her peach butt.

"Damn it, Grey. You shouldn't be looking at her like that." he scolded himself pulling his eyes away from her body.

His eyes searched the room for his hoodie and he finds them draped on the chair beside the desk. He reached for it and tugged it over his head.

A picture frame catches his attention and he grabbed unto the picture. It was a family of three, a man with black hair, his face was stoic, almost like he wanted to be anywhere but there while the happy woman next to him shared her red hair with the little girl she carried in her arms. That little girl was Red.

"Mmm.." He turned around to where Harley was.

"Mum, we- where is D...ad?" She mumbled again in her sleep. Grey dropped the frame and moved closer to her bed.

"No...no.." Harley began to toss around, the nightmare she was having beginning to overwhelm her.

"Please...please do..don't go don't leave me!" She screamed in her sleep.

"Hey, Red-" grey climbed into the bed. "It's a dream, It's just a dream," he said holding her hands. Her grip tightened in his hands.

"Dad!!" she yelled again jerking upwards with her eyes still closed. "Dad." her voice was quieter as a sob wracked through her throat.

"It's okay...Shh, it's all okay. I'm here." Grey said pulling her into his body as he held unto her rubbing her back slightly.

"I'm here," he repeated as her body melted into his.

"Please don't leave me," she whispered. Her clutch around his torso tightened as she fell into his embrace. "Please don't leave me."

"I'm right here," he whispered back into her ears. "I'm not going anywhere," he said.

When he was sure that she was back asleep, he stayed in the same position, with her in his arms. Counting to three, he gently adjusted until they were both lying down on her bed with her face snuggled into his chest.

His mind wandered through a million possibilities of what must have happened with her dad, from the picture he had seen, his hard guess was that he left them when she was younger.

Brushing the thoughts away, he glanced down at her sleeping form, her light snores filled the room.

His head turned at the rumbling of the clouds outside, the lighting lacing the skies alongside the thunder. Not long after it begins to rain and after staring at the darkness his eyes begin to drift close until he was fast asleep again.

***************************************

Harley did not remember a lot of things and right now she couldn't remember a major number of them. One thing she couldn't remember was sleeping with her duvet, the second thing she couldn't remember was rolling so much that she was facing the wall or living in a room that had two hard walls that trapped her from moving.

Her eyes slowly fluttered open when she felt the wall behind her grip her tighter than before. She tried to move away from the wall but it only held onto her tighter.

The sleep in her eyes vanished when she tried moving one more time and a deep groan emaciated from the wall.

Her eyes trailed down to the rest of her body which was caged between well-built arms and legs covered in sweatpants hovering over hers.

"Ah!!!!" she screamed elbowing the body behind her which caused the grip on her waist to lessen and scrambling away from her prisoner falling in the process as her legs get caught in her duvet.

"Fuxking hell!!" Grey winced as he inspected his sore wound which Harley had just hit.

Harley slowly rose to her feet holding onto the closest weapon she find which was a leg of her crocs.

"You sure know how to manhandle somebody." he groaned turning to the other side as he clutched his sides.

She stared at the half-naked boy in her bed doubling over in pain.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with her posture still in a defensive stance.

"I slept here remember." he reminded her turning to face her.

Harley had not seen a lot of cute boys, apart from the ones she and her cousins had seen on TV, but right here in her room laid one who was more than cute. He was hot.

She observed his facial features, his brown eyes shone from the light of the sun that seeped into the room, they reminded her of honey.

Although his cheek still had a few scratches from last night they didn't deny how well defined his cheekbones were. His lips were a shade of dark red even with the little cruise nestled at his lower lips. It still looked kissable.

"You don't have to stand so far away, you can get a better view right here," he smirked at her tapping on his thighs.

She rolled her eyes at him dropping the crocs to the ground.

"I don't want to even deal with your shit this morning but my head hurts and my throat feels like I had a screaming match in my dream," she muttered.

Grey's grim smirk is wiped off and he stares at her concerned.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked her face pulled in a frown and then everything comes clicking in place.
