Killian’s POV

The car smelled like sex. And her.

Her scent clung to my skin, her taste still on my tongue. My cock twitched at the memory of her sobbing my name, begging me to fuck her harder. I gripped the steering wheel tighter, forcing my mind back to the road before I did something stupid like turn around and take her again.

Jeremy, Luke, Damon, and her cousin Liam, had all stayed behind and were still at the arena, so I had a valid reason for keeping her in my car. Stella, Bree, and Vivian didn't even bother to check where she was and went back to their hotels. Too much fun can do that.

Irresponsible friends.

My phone buzzed against the console, distracting my thoughts. I pressed the Bluetooth button without looking.

“What?” I snapped.

“Is that how you greet your mother?” came her child like annoyed voice.

Avery Crist

I gritted my teeth, staring at the empty highway ahead. “What do you want, mother?”

“I want you home,” she said almost immediately. “Now. Al

Killan's Pov The air in Ronan’s Study was thick with cigar smoke and the sharp tang of whiskey. He didn’t offer me a drink, and I didn’t ask for one. We’d done this dance too many times — me chasing ghosts, him giving me nothing but more shadows to dig through.“I’m telling you, Killian,” Ronan muttered, rubbing a hand through his greying stubble, “if Lia’s own brother doesn’t know who the hell she really is, then we’ve got something far bigger than just some woman running from her past.”I leaned forward, elbows resting on my knees, jaw tight. “Then tell me. What do you know?”He looked at me, those tired, half-amused eyes boring into mine. “You really want to play this game again?”I didn’t say anything. He sighed.“There was someone,” he finally said. “A guy—military background. Russian. Went by Semyon. Quiet type. Disappeared years ago, but rumor is, he was tied to something deep. Black ops level. Government kept him scrubbed clean.”“Semyon,” I repeated, mind already spiraling.

Alessandra’s POVI sank deeper into the couch, sunlight warming my face, my phone balanced in one hand and a cooling coffee mug in the other. Killian had slipped out early, muttering something about meeting Ronan to chase another lead in his endless hunt for answers. He’d kissed my forehead before he left, his lips soft, his voice low. “I’ll be back before dinner, Ale. Don’t go anywhere.” His eyes had lingered on me, heavy with that quiet fear he never spoke out loud.I didn’t want to think about it. Not after seeing Alex last night, her trembling hands and bruised wrist, her eyes so distant it was like she didn’t know me. I needed something lighter, something to keep me from unraveling. My phone buzzed, pulling me out of my head. The group chat with Brie, Stella, and Vivian was, as usual, a mess.Brie: We’re coming over. TODAY. No excuses, Alessandra.Stella: By force. By fire. By sheer feminine chaos.Vivian: I’m bringing wine. You’re welcome.Brie: Blink twice if Killian’s got yo

Alessandra’s POVThe front door clicked shut behind me, but I stopped in the hallway, my hand lingering on the knob. The house was too still, like it’d been holding its breath while I was gone. My purse hit the console table with a soft thud, and I kicked off my shoes, my body heavier than it should’ve been. Seeing Alex again had left something behind—a weight I couldn’t shake, like a stone lodged in my chest.I padded into the living room and froze.Killian was on the edge of the couch, elbows on his knees, fists clenched so tight his knuckles were white. His jaw was set, his eyes locked on me the second I stepped in. They were dark, stormy, not with anger but with something worse—fear.“Where the hell did you go?” His voice was low, rough, like he’d been up all night fighting his own head.I blinked, caught off guard. “I—Killian, I just—”“You weren’t here,” he cut in, standing up, his movements slow but tense. “I woke up, and you were gone. No note, no text, nothing. Do you have a

Alex’s POVPresent DayThe grocery bag cut into my palm as I stepped out of the store, the heat sticking to my skin like a heavy coat. I didn’t even know why I came. I didn’t need milk. I hated milk. I just needed to get out, to find a moment that wasn’t suffocated by him, by her, by the past that clawed at me every second. A moment where I could breathe without feeling like I was stealing air.My phone buzzed in my pocket. I almost ignored it, my fingers tightening around the bag’s handles. But I pulled it out, the screen glowing in the fading light.Vivian: You okay?I froze, my chest tightening. We hadn’t texted in weeks, not since everything broke. Not since Alessandra saw me—saw what I’d become, what I’d let him do—and looked at me like I was nothing. I bit the inside of my cheek, the sting grounding me, and typed back.Me: No.Her reply was instant.Vivian: You want me to come?My heart stuttered. I shouldn’t have wanted her to. I shouldn’t have needed anyone. But my fingers

Alex’s POV (After Alessandra found out about Alex and their father.)The quiet was suffocating.I sat on the hallway floor, my back pressed against the cold wall, my knees pulled tight to my chest. My cheek burned, a dull throb where his hand had struck. I didn’t even feel the slap until I saw the blood smeared on the tile, a thin red streak from where my lip split. My hands shook as I wiped it away, the coppery taste lingering in my mouth. He was in his study now, the door closed, like nothing had happened. Like he hadn’t just shattered what little was left of me.But the worst pain wasn’t him. It was her.Alessandra.The way she looked at me earlier, before she left for France Her eyes were cold, sharp, filled with disgust—like I was something dirty, something to scrape off her shoe. “You’re just like him,” she’d said, her voice low and final, like a door slamming shut. She didn’t see the bruises hidden under my sleeves. Didn’t know how I’d screamed her name in my head all thos

Alexandria’s POV(Months Before the Wedding)I just wanted one night to disappear. One night where I wasn’t Alexandria Castillo—the ghost sister, the broken doll, the dirty secret everyone whispered about when they thought I couldn’t hear.... the unfeeling Rock everyone thought I was I wanted to be nothing, nobody, just for a little while.Alessandra and I hadn’t spoken in months. It was more like a mutual thing now, where nothing mattered between us and we accepted the situation. But it still burned, and I needed a release. So I went to the club. Alone. The place was a mess of noise and neon lights, bodies grinding to music so loud it drowned out my thoughts. I didn’t belong there, and that’s why I stayed. No one knew me. No one cared about the shadows under my eyes or the way my hands shook. I ordered something strong, something that burned going down, and let it blur the edges of my pain. That’s when I felt her staring.Vivian.She was in a corner booth, alone, like she owned t
